Have you considered making a horus varient since the branded fusion wont be mandatory? I think it would be cool as a way to do link and rank 8 plays plus it gives a self recurring beast.
I would play the branded variant at 45+ maybe more up to 50-60 just because there are so many 1 card starters, this will space out the bricks and allow you to run more non-engine
You included Edge Imp Chain in all three of the variants and that was probably the right call. You gain a crazy amount of advantage with the +2 off of Patchwork. It's like having extra copies of Berfomet resolving in a way. While I still like the Branded Chimera variant just based on familiarity, it's probably no longer needed at this point. Diabellze of the Original Sin reminds me of a new age Jinzo. Back in the day Jinzo had so much impact. This new card can slow down your opponent significantly, and when you combine its Anti-Spell like effect with a Guardian Chimera to pop additional cards the opponent tries to set it can get nasty pretty quick. Honestly hope it's not so good that it eventually gets limited or banned at some point. As for Nightmare Apprentice, I wonder how much I will have to pay for a playset. Hoping I can pull at least one during the next Sneak Peek when that comes around!
I think of the 3 the Yubel one is maybe my least favorite. It feels very brick heavy. I'm in the boat of doing #3 but running about 43 cards (Side deck the Alpha) and running 3 branded Fusions + 1 Albaz. The small synergy with Unchained does have me thinking though
Hopefully people are more focused on Snake Eyes, Yubel, and Tenpai. With any luck we can get at least 3 for the price of a booster box....Which is incredibly sad to say.

I love this take on illusion less reliance on branded fusion makes it so much more flexible
I do like the fact that Branded Fusion and Swordknight both bait Ash so the other one can resolve though.

Illusion and branded loses so hard to ash and droll that i highly reccomend crossout at at least 1 or 2 with the called by.
U just have to run hex-sealed to start with dragoon by branded fusion, then ash and droll are not a problem
