Pittsburgh-area bear attack survivor shares story from hospital bed

A woman was attacked by a bear in Butler Township on Tuesday night. Police said the woman was trying to get a mother bear and three cubs away from her dog when she was attacked.

Says the person who wasn't attacked and give the cubs to a zoo or nature preserve. Once a bear attacks a human it will attack again that's why they put them down

@@betty-janececile5214 According to the state Game Commission, no humans have died in attacks by wild Pennsylvania black bears since they started documenting the encounters. Two men are alleged to have been killed in black bear attacks in vaguely recorded incidents in 1883 and 1906. A woman in Ross died in an attack by a captive bear kept by her husband, an exotic pet dealer, in 2009. Black bear mothers are able to tree their cubs in order to protect them.
Something the woman did or how she acted must have caused the attack.

It's sad they euthanized the mother bear. Anyone with a slight knowledge of mother bears know that they protect the cubs! Mama Bear was following her natural instincts!

I would love to say thank you for saving us God bless you for being there for us and if the Cubs are not rabies you mean to say that you are going to let them go back out there and do this to someone else dog or dogs and if you ask me you are crazy to go that far now ok
