Well, I think we all knew this could only end one of two ways lol. Nice breakdown as always. For me, Reanimation was such a creative and well thought out piece of art that it could be considered an album release as well, but I understand why it was left off here.

Eric Stewart 1000% agree dude. Reanimation has some of my favorite LP tracks on there, but I honestly wouldn’t know where to put it. It’s on a league of its own because it so unique.

Wow, wasn't expecting you to drop this video! Linkin Park are one of my favorite bands, and I don't think they have a bad album, but some are better than others. Here's my ranking:
    7. One More Light (6/10)
    6. Living Things (Light 8/10)
    5. Minutes to Midnight (8/10)
    4. The Hunting Party (Strong 8/10)
    3. A Thousand Suns (9/10)
    2. Hybrid Theory (9/10)
    1. Meteora (10/10)
While I really like Minutes to Midnight, I can definitely agree with you about Mike. Really wish he was on the album more! And honestly, One More Light was too poppy for me. But it does have alot of great songs

I’ve always wanted to ask you if you were ever going to do a ranking on Linkin Park! I’m glad you did, and glad you’re a fan! Keep up the good work!
And I agree with you on the Minutes to Midnight thing. Although it’s personally my number 5 pick, the one thing I will always dislike about that album is the lack of Mike Shinoda’s rapping, especially with this album coming straight after Hybrid Theory and Meteora

Well I just finished listening to A Thousand Suns again, and I enjoyed it even more than I remember, so I've edited my rating and put it in the 3rd place above The Hunting Party. Also, I feel like I was a little too generous giving THP a 9, so I'm giving it an 8

Minutes to midnight grew on me over the years. And is now in my top 5 without a question. I didn’t like shadow of the day, what I’ve done or hands held high so much, but the rest worked well with each other. If those tracks weren’t on there, it’d save me some skips. All the other songs had something for me and admittedly, Valentine’s Day through to The little things give you away might be better than the first half of the album. Each one of those songs has something for me at a certain time in my life. Or mostly all set once.
And to be honest, after that album, it kind of went terribly wrong, in my opinion.
And if I’m being honest, with myself especially, they were kind of a down ward trend from the very beginning.
    1: Hybrid Theory (Narrowly IMO)
    2: Meteora
    3: Reanimation
    4: Minutes to midnight
    5: N/A
    10: N/A

i stopped listening to linken park back in 07 when i heard minutes to midnight and was like oh damn this is the direction theyre going, wasnt a fan of the new sound, only heard them at the end of Transformers movies in the summer which was nice. first two albums amazing, love every single song on both, always a fan of bands where i dont have to skip a song on their album.

    Minutes to midnight is amazing
Leave it all the rest ,
    Pieces
    Valentine’s Day
    Shadow of the day
    Giving up
    No more sorrow
    Bleed it out
    It’s an amazing album
I think Meteora is there best album

Backstreet Boys but heavy!? That's not even close to what Linkin Park ever sounded like! BSB: 5 peice harmonies and love songs. LP: angsty rapping and screaming-no love songs. WTF?

    • @arkoverload
      @arkoverload  4 года назад +2

Jordan Mertens he was more referring to the thought that “heavy” music back in 2000 was mainly nu-metal and lacking a lot of melody and catchy choruses, while Linkin Park undoubtedly had a pop element to their songwriting with a singer who really knew how to sing. I don’t think he literally meant a 5-piece boy band but heavy 😂
