The thing to say about Emily is that she is quite obviously a born rock star. If you've only seen her on the Linkin Park, you still have no idea how wild she is. Now it seems to me that she is trying to meet the expectations of fans and fit into the format of LP music, and this is holding her back a little. If you want to see who she really is, then watch the live recordings from Shiprocked 2024 where she jams with The Stowaways - the songs "Mother", "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" and ofc "Closer". She's there just having fun and being herself 100% - take a look and ask yourself when was the last time you saw someone so worthy of the term "rock star".
I'm sure Mike thinks so too. I'm sure he'll be creating many more songs that are perfect for her in the future.

I think it's more that she was still getting the feel of being in front of 40000 plus people that are there to see the her and the band. We are getting tiny tid bits of her personality and LP fans are like yes more of this more of you and like we even made her into Gifs. I hope she gets more comfy soon so she can be herself

Well you need to give people time you can't just expect people to start liking her from the get go.Peoplelistened to the entire album loved it and took 3 months to finally understand that she is part of a new chapter. Thats how world works you have to let your work speak for you. When her work spoke people no longer had a reason to hate on her.

Emily and LP is lke ACDC after Bon Scott....a perfect fit to continue with the original Bands essence and aa very important thing is that she can also perform Chesters old songs on a different but insanley great way live. So we can still experience the old songs live my friends...this is very important capability of Emily because it would be such a loss never hear old songs again live and remember Chester that way. After the first live stream i was completley blown away and happy for Emily doing so well with a great performance. She is a live beast with great looks and vocal versatility. I am so kappy for her and the whole Band to get along and do great music and concerts in the future.

Mike explained it so well with the uncanny valley, excactly how I feel about the coverband that cosplays Mike and Chester. It's creepy to me and feels totally wrong. Plus, I don't like the sound of them at all. I hope they stay away from the new LP songs at least.

@@itsasquid thats exaclty what make it creepy. most of them cover the classics with their own interpretation and style which make the song super wholesome, then there is that one of band who just doing it part by part, gesture, style, wardrobe, even stage act exactly like the original.. like wtf those dude think while most of the original band members are still pretty much alive. they just like puppet, worse than CGI, like above the uncanny valley term.

With their massive discography and Emily and Colin being new I would love if this idea could get to one of the Band members. Put up a list of their unused demos as a listening contest. While they are on tour, the fans can vote for their favorite 15 demos. Then don't release the names of the winning songs and make a new album based on the fans picks. Would be amazing since half the work is already done and the fans made their choices and have a handle in the new album. FYI my 2 picks would be Chicken Basket and Rhinoceros. DEFINETELY RHINOCEROS!!!
