- I'm Dr. Matt Hale. I'm an Assistant Professor of Communication Studies. In this video, I'm sharing the things that I bring with me every day to do my job as a college professor.
This isn't sponsored. Why would anyone sponsor me?
Although a lot of folks probably don't care, I figured it might be of interest to some people as to what a "young" (I'm 35) college professor uses to do their job.

Thanks for the video. And yeah, noise-cancelling is a must, especially if you are at different places to read stuff. I would suggest checking the channels that upload long duration ambience sound videos. They are perfect for reading and they take noise-cancelling to whole another level.
Always fun to meet a fellow Field Notes addict *cough* fan. Curious what you are shooting on that you can use your iPhone as a monitor. That is very cool.
I record on a So y A6400 and then app I use to monitor is called Field Monitor. Works pretty well. There’s a noticeable lag, but it gets the job done and was affordable.
@@UXmatt Thank you!
The background of this video and where you showed your different Field Notes notebooks made this feel a bit like a Wes Anderson production.
What was the company/brand of the briefcase? Thanks!
Basader. Really great stuff. It will outlive me and anyone I’ve ever loved.
I think I’m going to pick one up. Is this the Buck Brown color?
@@HEYitsTRAV Odd timing, I'm actually selling mine. I don't eat meat anymore, so I'm getting rid of leather goods. Shoot me a message if you're interested.
@@UXmatt RUclips won’t let me send a message for some reason, so I reached out using your contact form on your website. Thanks Matt!
Nice briefcase, professor 💼
Thanks!
