- Waimea Bay is popular surfing and cliff jumping spot. It located along Kamehameha Highway in Haleiwa on the North Shore of O'ahu in the Hawaiian Islands at the mouth of the Waimea River. Waimea Valley extends behind Waimea Bay.
In winter, Waimea and other North Shore locations such as Pipeline and Sunset Beach host a number of surfing contests because of the large waves found here. These waves are created by winter storms in the North Pacific, and their arrival on O'ahu's North Shore are typically forecast accurately several days in advance. In summer, Waimea typically has clear and calm water.

I had a great time when I went....beautiful.
Wife and I, always make sure to visit Waimea Bay every year when we come to Oahu to visit family. And definitely jumping off the rock is a must. Only problem is finding parking but it's worth it... we'll be there end of June.

I remember jumping off the rock and hiking up the canyon to dive & swim off the falls.
WOW…..I sat on that beach in February 1992, almost 30 years ago! The waves were huge that day. Amazing to see again, great memories. beautiful video, thanks 😊

Waimea is famous for its 30-foot waves in the winter and is a top place to watch some of the world's best and bravest surfers. During summer, the water calms considerably and is a great destination for swimming, snorkeling and diving.

Australian beaches are as close to Hawaiin beaches as someone who lives in QLD I can see so many similarities from landscaping to sign boards. Australia also provided sand to some of the beaches in Hawaii which i get to know recently when I was visiting a beach here.
