Pulling out the Bobber for a quick spin around the block. This 1986 Honda Rebel 450 was built by my father and I and was inspired by WWII era bikes.
Modification list:
Frame/ Suspension:
- Stock Rear Frame/ Swing Arm Removed. Custom 3" Stretch, 2" Drop Hard Tail With Harley 3/4" Axle Plates.
- Frame Neck Raked To 38* Degrees (Stock Was 32*)
- Solo Seat DIY Weld On Spring Bungs
- Custom Left-to-Right Side Hand Shifter Linkage. Brass Shift Knob made by Brock Schneiderman. (Can be used or can be locked and just for show)
- Detabbed Frame. New Tabs Welded Onto Frame Where Needed.
- Frame Powder Coated Gloss Black (Some small areas have been touched up with spray paint after some welding Tab modifications)

- DNA 4" Under Springer. Chrome Front and Gloss Black Rear.
- Harley Softail 40 Spoke 16" x 3" Front Rim Powder Coated Black With New Bearings.
- Harley Softail 40 Spoke 16" x 3" Rear Rim Powder Coated Black With New Bearings.
- Rebel Gears Custom Rear Harley Sprocket for Harley Softail Rim. Geared 3 Teeth Lower Then Stock For Better Highway Cruising and Longer Gears.
- 1989 Harley FLHS Rear Axle.
- DNA Front Axle Kit.
- Firestone ANS 16"x 5.00" Military Tires
- New Chain

We get probleems even with thombstones illuminating upwards.The reflection of the licenseplate might blind the car/bike behind you.Everything has to have a E number on the parts

@@jamesa6272 I bought a DIY exhaust kit and cut the pre-bent pipes how I wanted them and then welded them up.

I would love how he made that hand shift and seat so I can do that to mine has a repo 45 flathead hand shift bolted on the stock shift arm and a modde repo 45 foot cluch on it (sorry for the bad spelling)

Got 250 rebel to learn how to ride. Then I find out they made a 450 the same year I was made... hmm I know my next bike.

I'm really close to pulling the trigger on the 2018 rebel 500. I just don't like how the bike is so quiet, even with all the aftermarket exhausts out there. guess I gotta go with a custom exhaust if i want it to sound closer to this then huh?

Great build. What tank are you using? After looking around I have found that all of the sportster/peanut tanks have too narrow of a tunnel to fit nicely on the frame like you have.

Yeah the back bone of the rebels are pretty wide. Think we got the tank from Low Brow. Check their website!

So did you cut and weld to rake the bike or was the rake modified by the forks ?
How hard was the fork conversion? Did you have the springer stem machines to fit the factory neck bearings or did you replace the factory bearings with the tapered style?

Thank you! the neck was cut and the angle was increased to 38*. Stock i believe was around 30*.

@@aldosandrin1958 Your English is fine! No we did not lower the top tube. The rear hardtail section was lowered the bike a few inches though and stretched it 3" I believe. That plus the increased angle of the neck gives it a much lower and longer appearance.

Uh...a 450 is nothing more than a scooter, and the Rebel is intended to be a beginner's bike or for tiny women. This poser is like a Cuban Cadillac on a Volkswagon chassis. Add another thousand CCs and you'll have a real motorcycle.
