Japanese are masters at sales, look at Wagyu beef! It’s just a fatty cow, but some how…magical!, these are very nice swim baits! The best? One that catches fish on the day is the best my brother 👍, but who is throwing £500 lure, most just go to collectors 👍
Josh Range again, consider profit margins. The guy can charge what he wants because people pay it and for him to make it a profession he probably needs to make enough to not only survive but fuel his passion for fishing. If you compare to stuff like melosh he isn't in this far our price point all by himself. Is it worth it to me to buy it? No. But that doesn't mean the value isn't there.
Of course that comes with any "by hand" method of manufacture, my stance is the extent of the price given a large market of substitutes. $400+ is a whole new, very nice, rod and reel, while Team Leader Baits makes very nice swim baits under $30.
My grandpa bought me one for my birthday a few weeks ago... i was almost crying because there things are almost 700$ and he knows how muck i wanted one but never asked for ine because of cost. he insured me it was to be treaured in the family for years to come and never throw that bait unless it is cristle clear water and its warm enough to swim in. i would really like to try and make another one but cant find the right wood? anyone have ideas?
Poplar or Basswood may be similar to what is used for these baits. It would be cool to try making your own and testing it against the original. You may have to glue pieces together "cutting board" style. By the design of the Mother, It would be safe to assume that the "rate of fall" has more to with the aesthetics than the finish detail. Perhaps your grandfather might enjoy joining you in the project? Here are some great sites for inspiration - ruclips.net/video/GyiyobY7paA/видео.html ruclips.net/video/7qezi5k5sQE/видео.html
Ok I know I'm later than late on this vid but I still got to say REALLY? Ok yeah this guy puts a lot of work into his swimbait save but there is another man who probably puts the same amount of work into his hand crafted lures. Mattlures. Go look at his hard gills and other hard baits. They are taxidermy quality in a very well built swimbait and they run for 70$ or something along those lines. Those lures look like they take even more time to make than these. I'm sorry but a lure that cost more than my daiwa tatula HD and my okuma guide select A series combined is not justified to be on the market in my opinion.
Mattlures are amazing I agree, but you can't compare molded resin to hand carved out of wood. The reason Matt's hardgills stand out as one of the best bluegill imitations is that his paint jobs are incredible. He is a taxidermist and it translates well. But the labor difference between taking a raw piece of wood and shaping each one individually into a lure is much more. To compare you'd have to look at lures like Melosh, which are right in line with Roman Made pricing.
TheBushwooky I 100% agree, I also believe Melosh is one of the best swimbait makers there is. Not THE best, but one of. Roman Mades are really good, but for the money... Buy a Melosh. Mattlures is really cool to
Wow 2019 and still great!
An overwhelming sense of existence and ability of collection fish.
ロマントリックの美しさに惚れました。
Those holes are for lead weights. I think the wood is a local (Japan) variety that is similar to basswood. That song rules!
It is crazy that each of these baits takes 12 hours each to make, but they are some of the best swimbaits on earth!!
They're junk to me and I'm the best on the West.
@@megasif are you Micky?
0:01 stack of 3600 dollars.
EVERY single one is hand carved???? AWESOME.
They make you think they are hand made but they are actually done on a CNC lol still it takes a lot of work to make them, not an easy thing to do

He took the words right out of my mouth.
This video is better than my wedding video
Todavia quedan Artistas ...
Those of you calling this a $400 lure do not know what you are talking about. The $400 lure is 12 inches long. This is the 7 inch negotiator. $155.
Oh that’s ok then, I’ll bring my snorkel gear incase you snag it lol
ロマンメイドはルアーの造形としての美しさというよりは工芸品的な美しさがあると感じてます
I seen marling baits making one of These. Gonna have to try and make
One myself.
Marling baits are way better. I agree. Who pays such a price for a piece of wood with paint on it.
sweet video, nice colors!

How does he carve the gills so good!!!!

I dig on this video! Everything about it rules!
Cool! These things are crazy good.
when you buy one of these you gotta know your money is going twords a good company
Fantastic video!
I am amazed. I don't know how you can find the time to go fishing and mass produce swimbaits by hand. Amazing.
Muy buen trabajo,señuelos preciosos
What a cool video.
I feel like I watched this yesterday...

Man id love to beable to make my own lures lol
я в шоке лайк+подписка
Does anyone know what those holes he drills are?
Big Bass On late but it’s for the lead to weigh down the wood so it will actually sink
@@ethanbasker6676 answered my question, thanks
Teach me the ways
unbelievable
Nice! $450 for two pieces of wood colored in paint, can't go wrong with that.
Yeah and 12 hours of labor
Labor, cost of materials, cost of maintaining his workshop and machines....and that's before a profit.
thats still illogical for a swim bait, and for Vladimir its not 12 hours of labor

Tara Laidley did you lose it?
NCBassFishing No i have only threw it twice
Just a warning do not use braided line when using these big swim baits. A kink in the spool can make the line snap and you will throw off the lure.

Sooo....have a factory make em and sell em for $100 a pop. You'd make more profit that way anyways.
Isaac Pelletier kind of wonder if it'll be cheaper and faster with cnc.
