Anyone who pays $400 for a lure is a damned fool. Good grief. I've been a hard-core bass fisherman since 1969, and fishing now more than ever........so don't even try to tell me any different. ( I don't make videos, but I've got tons of photo's & images to prove my success at catching monster trophy bass here in central Florida. ) A top-of-the-line baitcaster AND a great mid priced rod can be bought TOGETHER for around $300.........THAT'S A HUNDRED BUCKS LESS THAN THIS DAMNED RIP-OFF OF A LURE. There's plenty of lures that will catch just as many or more bass that cost less than 20 bucks. Boy I tell ya, there's a sucker born every minute.
Relax my man, I am happy for you that you have caught many trophies on other different lures. No need to bash on those who buy these swimbaits. Everyone is just trying to catch trophy fish their own way, I just so happen to throw big swimbaits for mine. I see it as I spend $400 right there and then instead of buying 60 $7 crankbaits or whatever throughtout many years. I will tell you what though, if fishing out here was easy like how it is in Florida than yeah I wouldnt buy these swimmers to be honest lol. Thanks for watching mate!
Howabouthetruth there's several ways to look at it. These baits are an art to us that throw them. No need to bash. I mean Those same fish you have caught would bite the same $5 lure you use on a black max combo from Wal-Mart that costs $59.99. So by your logic, you're a sucker for paying $300 for your combo. Right?
I don’t have a problem with people paying for things they can afford. I cant afford a lot of high-end fishing equipment, so I don’t buy it. If I could afford a $400 lure, it would be in my tackle arsenal...good video, young man. If you’re ever in central Texas, look me up
I'm glad to see you can afford this lure. Value is in the eye of the beholder. If fishermen can justify 50,000.00 to 75,000 for a bass rig, not including the rods, reels and associated equipment, why not a 400.00 lure? Go for it kid, best of luck!
Some people buy hundreds of soft plastics, some people buy $200 shoes, some buy a pack of cigs everyday... Its crazy to me when people get so judgmental about what people do with their OWN money
While I see your point, I think people looking at a carved piece of wood for that price, it's hard not to think it's silly, shoes are crafted with more expensive materials and they are harder to make, but yeah they can be stupidly expensive for what they are and I'm happy cigs are expensive, this is to discourage smoking. On the whole most things have some excuse for their value, but this craved piece of wood is something on a different level.. I will say though who are we to judge someone for how they spend their own earned money? What ever makes you happy is good by me.
McClovinFishing Yup! Think about someone who goes to a coffee shop everyday, pays $3 to $5 for an Espresso...in two months that’s a Shimano Curado DC or better!
+Colin Tillman I think he meant stupid as in using a 400 dollar lure lol that's the dumbest shot I ever heard. I won't even spend half that on a rod let alone a swimbait 😂
That was Sick! Had that happen with a frog on a thick mat, I was pissing other frogs off who were attacking the bait cause it was over 100 and nothing was biting…just screwing around…Surprised the Shout out of my to see the bass explode through the thick mat! I mean how the hell did it know exactly where to attack……
There’s something about big swimbaits that is just fun. Even if you’re not catching or at least getting followers. Just watching the action of the glide bait and playing with it is so relaxing and fun
Great video man! Love to hear about the Roman made baits, true works of art. Not every fisherman gets it but for those of us who do we truly appreciate it. Keep it up!
What kind of boat do you have @crazybassfisher?? But your a inspiration for me man! I dig your style of fishing! Watching you guys on the west coast killing it on the glide baits is awesome!
Awesome, congrats on sticking your first fish on the Mother! When you were talking about the hardware on the setup, you didn't mention if you use a split ring / snap on the line tie, or what knot you use for that big bait.
Theres a reason ehy he didnt say SO MUCH of what he shouldve said, simply because he didnt snag that fish with that lure, he probably sained it from a circular throw net from the dock
Good explanation on using the right rod/reel to pitch a large bait like that. Like some of the other comments, forking out that amount of money for a lure is out of the question. I fish the Great Lakes and my upper-end rod/reel combos run less than that one lure does.
I've always followed you on instagram and seen all the crazy bass you catch but never ran into your channel until it showed up by a TacticalBassin video. Time to binge watch
Crazy... whats up...great video as always,,,question i fish a lake with deep rock bluffs ,but never really fish it....Should i be spending time there throwing a glide bait or something? its in dallas and drops to about 30ft! Any suggestions?
Dude! Go fish that ish! Fish love to have access to feeding zones that also have easy access to deep water, a bluff wall is a perfect place for fish! Dont be intimated by the depth that youre fishing in, those fish move higher up in the water column to feed!
I just got home from fishing it and didn't catch nothing.....i threw the Hudd 68 and a Black n blue jig.......There was a lot of rock on the bottom and hard to fish the jig! Thanks for the advice! Ill keep trying!
Geoff, your video's just keep getting better and better...I loved the Manny Chee Deps 250 tutorials, but this was even better! I love my Roman Made's - I have a Mother, Negotiator and a lipless Trick, in addition to a couple of Deps 250's...not sure what I like best, but I love fishing them. Only problem is here in Illinois, Muskies LOVE them too, LOL! I had a musky crush my Negotiator in August, so I've been a little leary of tossing it around! If I fished bass only waters, I would fish them exclusively. Your RM Mother has great action, only thing I would say is get it clear coated - this may make it more durable and prevent it from taking on water. Please keep up the good work, love watching your stuff while the ice is on here...congratulations on the Mother catch, how big was your fish?
Ya know, I can see why people would say that fish is fake. And my first notion was to think this, but there is something to look at. Anyone who has handled largemouth and put them into a livewell would know they change color, they turn lighter and their lateral line is much more defined. This is CLEARLY not shown on this fish, indicating it was not stressed when it went after that bait. The fish was very dark and matched the color of the water. I say its real! Awesome video, awesome fish!
That’s a nice bait my Brother! Ignore negative comments (I’m sure you do based on your Sophisticated and kind reply to those that have such strong opinions). I’m an old man (55) and I totally get hand made craftsmanship and the simple desire to own a piece of art!! Not to mention these baits will grow in value over the years...and MOST importantly, who the hell has the right to tell someone or judge how you spend YOUR money??!!! I just don’t get that. If I wanted to pile up $1000 in bills and burn it up to warm my hands in the cold, that’s my prerogative (just thought of the song!!! My Prerogative). If I don’t have something kind to say I try to keep it to myself!..... I wanted to send you this to let you know tons of people support you and the fact that you provide content for people to view! Love the bait! Great Attitude, and I’m a So Cal local and would love to meet you if you’re ever down So Cal (CBad way)....good luck...BAD ASS Handmade bait!!!! And Kind Regards My Friend! Pat
You might want to endorse lure makers who give you free product to test. There are guys who are hobby lure makers making those jigs for pennies on the dollar , RUclips. Also wish sells those big jig knock offs , nearly as good. Great video bro. Tight lines......
That color is just 🔥🔥🔥. White snake? Albino? Whatever it is that’s definitely my all time favorite color for any bait. Just plain albino or bone are just fire no mater the water clarity.
yeah, i used a $1000 big ass swimbait before. i cut out the video, went to the supermarket and bought a fish, came back, hook it on the big ass swimbait and turn the camera back on. shit was crazy.
Gaaw dawg!...mother of god, I was wincing seeing your cast towards them rocks...good info as well. Like the idea of the p-assist. Takes away the leverage form the lunkers during the fight that may throw ur hook.
Cbf I was thinking about getting a Bullshad an its $50+ but after seeing your video about the mother what's $50 when the results are the fish that you caught at the end here. I hope you are working out at the gym i got a feeling you are going to be lifting up some BIG BASS this year.👍👍
White is always a safe bet color-wise. The smaller hooks and PE can lighten up a glidebait and help it suspend, for a more convincing ROF. And yours swims great! When it comes to $$$ per skilled labor in manufacturing the bait, Mother is earns a 12 when mass produced baits are likely all 0. I have a growing collection of glidebaits that are dud-swimmers due to inconsistency's in manufacturing or poor design. (IMHO) Sometimes you can dial them in, but they usually end up on the wall of shame. If a sub-par Mother got out, Toshi would probably be required to commit Seppuku. (Ritual suicide) That does wonders for quality control. R2S should consider instilling a similar policy. ; ) Fish on!
Outcast Outdoors -- Curious, your thoughts on R2S. I'm brand new to the swim/glidebait world but want to make a go of it. I recently bought a 168 S-Waver and noticed that it wants to glide more to its left than its right when I twitch it, regardless of how I orient the rod or what else I do. So I'm wondering what you think of R2S's quality. Thanks!
I had a buddy of mine throw one in Baccarac lake, Mexico, these things DRAW fish in, no joke, I've never seen bass come at a swimbait the way the come at Roman mades

Crazy....U know ur doing something RIGHT when u have people hating on you!

Your a good man frank
We need more Frank's on the Tube.

McClovinFishing Yup! Think about someone who goes to a coffee shop everyday, pays $3 to $5 for an Espresso...in two months that’s a Shimano Curado DC or better!
Fischize thats a great way to look at it! buying things daily/subscription based products are dangerous on the wallet
Do you bring scuba gear with you on the boat to go unsnag your lure?
All jokes aside, a lure retriever for at least.
LMAO!! That’s a great idea!
I think my heart stopped every time you casted by the rock wall lol
Colin Tillman His heart should stop for being so God damn stupid
kameron steel that’s where the fish are lol
+Colin Tillman I think he meant stupid as in using a 400 dollar lure lol that's the dumbest shot I ever heard. I won't even spend half that on a rod let alone a swimbait 😂

I've yet to catch a musky on the figure 8 and you catch a bass on the Mother on the 8?! SICKO. Dope vid.
Hahaha it's gonna be sicker when you get that 45incher on the figure dude! Thanks homie!
love you vids sb!
Great video brother! Awesome rod, reel, bait and awesome unexpected catch at the end!
Great video man! Love to hear about the Roman made baits, true works of art. Not every fisherman gets it but for those of us who do we truly appreciate it. Keep it up!
Did you release the first in yr cooler box ?
What kind of boat do you have @crazybassfisher?? But your a inspiration for me man! I dig your style of fishing! Watching you guys on the west coast killing it on the glide baits is awesome!
Your vids are getting better bro! Keep it up! Your the one youtuber that keeps motivating me to catch a big swimbait fish 😀 hopefully this year!
im going to be in Arizona in a couple weeks... You ever fish Lake Pleasant?
Im calling bullshit that fish was in the box
Love the videos man, keep them going. Forget the haters, they will never get the excitement hooking into a monster on a big lure like us swimbaiters.
I wonder what would happen with the PE asist line ifyou hook into a musky, or other toothed fish. Would it fray and tear?
Love the vid! I'm a bass nut! Like the information 👌you just gotta enjoy collecting bass tackle! Good choice!
Awesome, congrats on sticking your first fish on the Mother! When you were talking about the hardware on the setup, you didn't mention if you use a split ring / snap on the line tie, or what knot you use for that big bait.
My bad, I tie straight direct and I use a double uni knot on all of my swimbaits.
Theres a reason ehy he didnt say SO MUCH of what he shouldve said, simply because he didnt snag that fish with that lure, he probably sained it from a circular throw net from the dock
💯💪👊LET'S GO!!! Keep up the dope vids💯
Thanks for taking one for the team and getting one!!
Hahaha no problem man!
Great info as always and a good fish to boot!. Well done my man!.
Great video bro.
Good explanation on everything.
Should work with Marlin baits, he builds them and you fish them.
Good explanation on using the right rod/reel to pitch a large bait like that. Like some of the other comments, forking out that amount of money for a lure is out of the question. I fish the Great Lakes and my upper-end rod/reel combos run less than that one lure does.
Geoff every time I watch this video i get goose bumps. You think ill draw a trophy now with this?
This at willow? Great view would love to get a baitsanity te9 in your hand to see what you think about it
MR-FLIP i love mine here in fl
What do you think about the Abu Garcia revo toro beast reel ???
That “Roman mother takes the cake “ lol
Roman made mother lure $400 catching huge bass mother with said lure priceless.great video happy that lure paid off 😎
Damn, seems like it wanted to 180 at the end of each glide. That line from lure to treble is crazy, would love to see a vid just on it.
Roman Made makes a video on that, looks like a great addition.
Awesome colour awesome action - thank you for having the balls to buy it, fish it and show us what it can do.
What size hooks and split rings do you use or recommend
If it broke off would you swim after it?
Man what a rush that must have been wow lol big glide fishing is a art an when your rewarded it's well worth the tweaked joints lol
That's so sick dude. I love my albino negotiators but haven't committed to the mother yet. Great stuff as always 👊
He definitely faked catching the bass on that lure
Ya dudes sketch as hell, terrible liar too.
Dude I wish I had enough money for that, for now I'm still trying to get an islide. Nice vid dude
I've always followed you on instagram and seen all the crazy bass you catch but never ran into your channel until it showed up by a TacticalBassin video. Time to binge watch

Sick!! Awesome vid and fish!!
Such a fun video!
Great video! Keep 'em comin.
Awesome catch! that was the darkest Bass I think I've ever seen in my life!
That's racist

Obviously he caught that fish separately and shoved his RMM onto its face. Not on video, didn't happen.
you catch fish on this one?
4000 reel isnt very big considering your bait is what, 200-250g?
Lol that's dope u caught that toad setting up a film shot, you can definitely feel the stoke! Congrats.

After watching the guy make one I figured it was a salt water lure. I can’t believe it’s made for freshwater.

Fake, this is an advert for the lure why would you use such a big lure for bass?
What brand is the rod, i know u said it in the video but how do u spell it.
I didn't catch what rod you use for the mothers.
Why is the fish not moving Why Didn't you let the people see you put it back. It came out of nowhere The aquarium We did notice the timelapse footage
no just pisses me off to see someone so ignorant
That color is just 🔥🔥🔥. White snake? Albino? Whatever it is that’s definitely my all time favorite color for any bait. Just plain albino or bone are just fire no mater the water clarity.
The color is white snake and it is fire my dude! Such a badass color to fish!
yeah, i used a $1000 big ass swimbait before. i cut out the video, went to the supermarket and bought a fish, came back, hook it on the big ass swimbait and turn the camera back on.
shit was crazy.
Did you get a free hat or shirt with a 400 dollar lure.
That was insane dude!! Nice fish
i know this is off subject but what view is this to record on your gopro
Just wide angle 1080 60 frames
crazybassfisher thank you
Gaaw dawg!...mother of god, I was wincing seeing your cast towards them rocks...good info as well. Like the idea of the p-assist. Takes away the leverage form the lunkers during the fight that may throw ur hook.
Still the best video for the RMM on YT.

Show proof
Have you ever caught a fish on it ??

For $400 that thing better go seek out and attack the bass, and have a locator beacon in case it gets lost! LOL!
Where can i buy the rod? Link would be dope! @crazybassfisher
informative video ! again, what rod are you using ? thanks man
It is my Moams 8'3" XXH rod, absolutely love my Moam rods!
If I show up in AZ, will you go fishing with me on the tube?
Cool video. Ignore the haters, keep doing what you do!
I am glad I make my own wooden lures. Now all I have to to is to buy a piece of cedar wood (2$) and copy that bait in about 2 days.
what kind of boat do you have
Dude that's awesome!
Love it ! Most people fish without swag unlike this guy !
Where did you get the rod looking for a good one to start Swimbait fishing???
Its my Moams 8'3" XXH custom rod, Moams does a fantastic job at making amazing custom rods! Moamsticks.com
I wouldnt trust that lure with Floro and braid. Both have such a sucky abrasion resistance....Ive lost some good lures due to it in rocky areas.
I had a buddy of mine throw one in Baccarac lake, Mexico, these things DRAW fish in, no joke, I've never seen bass come at a swimbait the way the come at Roman mades
I'd have a fins and mask on board whenever I pitched a $400.00 lure into the drink🏊🏻
Love it dude!
That fish came out lof the live well he didn't catch it on that lure
Ya you can tell by the way he acts lol
Hey, I think you did a fine job on the video and if I had that bait I would use it also. Cost means nothing. If you want it then buy it and go fishing.
That was cool bro👍👍🔥🔥🔥
To each his own its his money and in the end his fish. The only thing i wonder though is why is the clear kote so thin?
no link to where i can buy it????
Not many places carry this limited color, I got mine from a friend
ebay, but it will cost a lot more than 400$...
Great vid!
Do you know of any good swimbaits for smaller ponds in the midwest?
6th Sense Flow Glider does great in Ohio👌
Travis Fry ok thank you
You're filming but you don't have video of a fish catch. Sorry but i think you catch that fish on something else then laid the bait on it's mouth!
I agree, he acts suspicious.
It hurts losing a 6 dollar crankbait, imagine losing that 400 dollar lure, damn lol
Hmm, I would send it back, the front treble hooks are wearing the paint off behind the head :(, which means bad design, the trebles should not hit the body that high, it will cause missed fish.
Just subbed. Great quality video!
Have you ever had it hit those rocks and crack the paint?
Fly fishing Freak u shuld see sum of his other glides lol almost no paint left but that's how u gotta fish em
Yes sadly, a lot of my baits have chunks and paint missing from them from hitting rocks and docks lol
That was so awesome catching that bass at the end, the only way to make it better was if got it on video!
Liar, liar, liar, your pants SHOULD be on fire
at 11:37 i think i saw a halo around the bait
Did you get it in white so if you lose it in clear water you might be able to see it and get it 😂400 for a lure is crazy
