My son told me of a clearance at Brookshire Brothers 37 Cent per 7oz box Skinner spaghetti..I got the last 10 boxes. They had bouillon cubes in jars for 57 cents. Scored them as well.
My favorite aunt did this, and added a teaspoon or a tablespoon, depending on amount your making, of Worcestershire sauce! Believe it or not, it adds a little boost to the flavor!
People sometimes focus on only healthy food, which is never cheaper food. Great haul for the money to keep people fed and alive! I will even eat those Vienna sausages when hungry enough.
Takes a lot of label reading, but we try to aim for healthier options and have been able to find it even on a tighter budget. We also cook and bake mostly from scratch - helps us to control a little better what's in our food. It's sad that so much of our mainstream food that is cheaper is not good for us, that seems intentional to keep people sick and dependent.
I was trying to be a good prepper and get creative with what I could add to pasta. So, I fried up some green beans in plenty of butter and poured that over the pasta. I actually liked it. I will do it again.
That's a great haul. Many items for anyone starting to build your meals in a bag. Realizing more and more your jar and bag meals are essential in stressful times.
I hit the Amish discount store at least 1x monthly if not more. I get the stove top stuffing for .89 each. Dukes mayo smaller bottles. .99:ea. the cap may be broken but seal intact. Dressings .99 although I make a lot myself. Heinz ketchup big ones .99. Can’t beat t,he prices. I keep clan intact caps to replace the broken ones.
Jiffy yellow cake mix is still $.98 so I get them. They are an easy quick fix for a dessert and you can do a lot with the flavor as well. Top it with frosting or just some ice cream or fruit. I like doing the under a $1. runs at walmart. Great video.
Yes ma’am! I went to Dollar tree today and they are changing lots of prices like sodas $1.75 and chocolates $5 but thank goodness pasta and rice and beans are still $1.25
That’s a great haul for $20. I haven’t thought about potted meat in years, but I always like to have a little of it occasionally. I have a pretty large pantry, but I’m always looking for different things to stock. Great video!
Great haul! I buy lots of those items regularly, they are cheap and shelf stable and I'm glad I have them in an emergency! Thanks for sharing the deals, Jinne!
I'd like to share that Mac and Cheese with green chilies is yummy. Also I found that grated carrot make a wonderful substitute for lettuce on a sandwich.
Cucumbers sprinkled with Pyure Sweetener taste like 🍉, I like to add a little salt to mine! Raw sweet Potatoes as a substitute for carrots! Sweet potato fries yummy. Cauliflower & Parsley, fried in olive oil, served with powdered Parmesan cheese is yummy! I like it alone or with a serving of fish or chicken.
Went to Dollar Tree today. The food items was sad. No shelf stable milk. Did get a couple cans of pineapple chunks. Got wax paper and facial tissues. Cotton swabs, toothpaste.
Kroger has had their cans of tuna on sale for 88 cents, and some of their pastas, but not for long. Their green chilis are .89, and I get those. For the past two weeks they have been running big .99 sales, with StarKist tuna packets, Knorr, Kraft Mac&Cheese, some Campbell's soups, Spaghettios, Michelina frozen and others. You bet everyone has been loading up.
Excellent haul! Here in Northern California we have Campbell's Chunky Soup 2/$7 ON SALE! A bag of oranges is almost $10. Stock those sale item to the rafters friends.
please dont change most prepping/homesteading channels now only do politics and if i want politics i will watch a political channel thank you and a little politics is ok but not all the time
Hi Jinne, in regards to the pasta, our Walmart has had it on sale for $.98. But Aldi is still cheaper. Especially if you don't need the pasta that's a little more out there, like just plain macaroni, spaghetti or lasagna. I love your lists by the way. Take care.
I got braces as an adult. The first soft meal I was able to eat after getting braces was angel hair pastaroni with sliced Vienna sausages. It seemed like a gourmet meal after barely eating for days!
I just opened a ketshup tonight for making a meatloaf and it waa from 2021 perfectly fine. Can't believe i had one from that long ago I am a ketshup house. You know how it is when something gets miss placed in your preps 😅😅😅
Ontario Canada small bag of grapes $10 , white onion 1 count $3.50, sourdough bread 1 loaf $4.50, large pack ground beef $35. The store is Zehrs. My husband said the produce section was low. Not much in the way of potatoes or onions. The tomatoes were a little green . I heard that England still has shortages. Sorry i cant seem to send you a screenshot of the prices. Pasta sauce is $2.79 and pasta is about $2.79 reg noodles to $4.50 for egg noodles.
Great video and haul, Jinne! Seeds! I think I might have a seed problem😂 I can't stop picking them up! I have 2 shoebox-sized containers from $Tree stuffed with them!
Same. I have a very large plastic container that is made to hold pictures 3x5 size. It has 24 boxes & it's like a suitcase? And each little box holds a bunch of seed packs. It's full 🤷😂
WOW! Great haul for $20! I haven't seen the Jiffy pie crust mix in a while. Will have to put it on my list. I grew up eating potted meat sandwiches 🥪 on Sunbeam bread 🍞 with a slice of cheese 🧀. Sometimes as a snack my grandmother would fix us potted meat and saltine crackers. I haven't had any in years, but have a couple of cans in my pantry. I never was fond of Vienna sausages, though.😊
Sweet memories for me regarding the potted meat! My mama would mix a little mayo and chop up a green onion for sandwiches. She also would let us eat it on saltine crackers in the summer for lunch ❤ We always had Zesta crackers ❤ and Snyder’s potato chips ❤️
I get my salt at the feed store, it is good for preserving meat, tanning hides, my table salt is iodized salt or pink Himalayan salt, for taste...it isn't less than a dollar, but still a good deal...
I love potted meat. Im the only one tho. Lol. But i buy a couple of cans every once in awhile, that way i can have a sandwich when i make a dinner my family loves but i wont eat it
I was at my Walmart the other day and they had a ton of plain salt ... on the spice aisle where it usually is and on 2 separate endcaps. No iodized, though. Not even Morton's.
Enchilada sauce is a fun way to make soup. Broth of choice, meat, veggies and rice or pasta and spices. Green chilies too. We even mixed a can of green in in with chicken ramen which ee kept soupy cheese on top. Different and good. Red sauce with left over taco meat and extra fixings.
Haven't used the onion soup mix for quite a while, but reminded me of a tip I'd like to share. You can get by using part of the packet and not the whole thing. It has a lot of flavor and treat it just like another spice or seasoning and try first just adding a tablespoon or so and see how you like it. Those soup mixes can be really high in sodium, additives or sugar. So if you choose to use them first try testing a tablespoon or two rather than dumping the whole packet into your recipe and it reduces the sodium and then it also stretches it and you can use what's in one packet more than just one time. Jinne, you did a good job of showing how many things you can find for less than the dollar stores that are $1.25 at least for more of the food items.
I got Golden Eagle canning jars on clearance at Walmart yesterday for $8.00 for a 12 pack...I think they are pints....went to 2 stores and bought them all. There are 2 more stores close to us that I'll go to tomorrow. I missed the boat because there were bigger jars thag were clearanced and already sold out at both stores.
maybe you could do a video on fresh fruits and veg at Walmart..... cans are great to have on hand, but I really like to buy fresh when available at a good price. thank you. God bless!
I love the great value mashed potatoes packets! Maybe not the most economical way to do mashed potatoes but they're super easy to make and they're under a dollar still!
I didn't realize how much was still under a buck. Gosh, i remember when Jiffy was 4/$1 we always had it on hand, goes great with those butter beans my mom makes! I saw you got mustard....does that store well? I for some reason bought several bottles of different flavors walmart brand about a year ago and wondering if i made a mistake. Thanks, really enjoy these grocery hauls.
Corn salsa with black beans? Yes 1 can bl beans drained and rinsed, 1 can corn drained 1 can diced tomatoes drained or fresh tomato cut up Half red onion 1 jalapeno if you like Juice of 2 small I.ws Half cup chopped fresh cilantro Half teaspoon garlic powder or 1 clove minced garlic Salt and pepper to taste and a bit of olive oil
@rosanneciccia7918 I make a Corn Dip very similar except I omit the cilantro (personal preference) and olive 🫒 oil. I also use a can of Rotel instead of tomatoes 🍅 Mix in about a cup of sour cream and serve with Frito Scoops ... this is a must LOL
I got 4 pounds of pinto beans for 99 cents I got 10 of them they were closing them out.
I got some of those too!👍😀
Sweet Deal!! 💕🇺🇸
You did GOOD!!!
I like the idea of taking $20-$25 to the store, buying $1 or less items! A challenge for sure!
I didn't think $20 could still go that far, thanks, Jinne!
Sharp Shopper last week - 3 cans of tomato sauce for $1 and they had cans of mixed kidney, pinto and black beans for 79 cents. Bought a flat of both!
I do that too when I go to my local Sharp shopper
My son told me of a clearance at Brookshire Brothers 37 Cent per 7oz box Skinner spaghetti..I got the last 10 boxes. They had bouillon cubes in jars for 57 cents. Scored them as well.
That is a lot of good food for 20 dollars!
You forgot matches. They're 97 cents!
😂
I think you did pretty darn good for $20.00 bucks , Thank you Jinne
I use a packet of onion soup powder to a 16 oz of sour cream for vegetable dip. It needs to set a bit to rehydrate the onions. So good!
My favorite aunt did this, and added a teaspoon or a tablespoon, depending on amount your making, of Worcestershire sauce! Believe it or not, it adds a little boost to the flavor!
Yes, that's delish!! We use the ranch powder as well for dip. 😋😋😋
That’s what my family did and I do it too! Yum so much better than the premade store dip!!
Best tasting onion dip!!
I do this too. My niece asked for the recipe. Lol
People sometimes focus on only healthy food, which is never cheaper food. Great haul for the money to keep people fed and alive! I will even eat those Vienna sausages when hungry enough.
I know what you mean about the Vienna sausages. I would really have to be hungry but I would eat them. I do have a few cans put away.
Sometimes if you put a little fry on them it enhances the flavor!!!. like on spam!!!

CHop up a ripe tomato and mash a clove of garlic and add to the green beans! It’s delicious over elbow macaroni
@@suzybailey-koubti8342 That sounds good to me. It's definitely on my list of creative pasta dishes. Thanks!

Aren't the Amish stores awesome!! I go as often as I can, very blessed to have numerous choices within an hour or less!
The potted meat you could add onion and different veggies and maybe get a third sandwich

I put dehydrated onion and cabbage in the Ramen noodles .About the same prices here in NE Ga.❤
So do you cook your cabbage before you dehydrate it?
