    I was so bummed to see that my new Quadlock phone mount that I had been so thrilled to receive, all to find that it wouldn't work 😢. Then I began my RUclips search and what I found at first was a guy who's selling a 3D printed adapter for $25-30 online. I was willing to pay the money, however I didn't want to have to wait even longer. So I continued my search until I found your channel and I'm so glad I did! Such a simple fix I don't know why I didn't think of it . But either way, thanks for the great work and posting it for the rest of us.

    I snapped a few of these 'butterfly bolts' from over tightening - in an attempt to stop the quad lock bracket from moving. In the end I placed a rubber washer between the headstock and the quad lock mount. It negates the need to over tighten and the quad lock mount is now rock solid.
    For such a premium price, Quad Lock should really provide a rubber mount - as opposed to the hard plastic base.

    You're awesome! Thanks for the video with alternative fix! I have an 899, and actually used a magnetic pen tool. I took the plastic cap that covers the fork stem that's located right above the front fender. I put the Quad Lock adjustable screw from the bottom and pushed it up. However, when I got the screw to thread from the top side into the adjustable stem, it expanded all the way, but the small metal parts just slipped right out. Was literally about to write Quad Lock an email to see if I can return. I'm going to home depot to pick one of these up!

    • @rstarmotorsports2660
      @rstarmotorsports2660  3 года назад +1

      Yeah the rubber and metal screw will slip because there’s oil in the fork stem so need something to hold it tight and that’s why I did it the way I did in the video, every month or two I would just tight it again just so it’s still good because from the vibration it gets lose once in a while but I’m fine with that it takes me 30 seconds to tight it once a month or so and also don’t tight it too much.

      @@rstarmotorsports2660 I had a spare rubber mount lying around, and the same anchor screw you used. I cut up the rubber mount to place it as a "washer" under the Quad Lock stem, tightened it up, and now it's solid and secure! Before I found the spare rubber mount, I saw that Lowes sells rubber washers--I think a 1/2" diameter for the hole, if not, just cut it like I did.

    To fit using the standard wider extension that comes in the packet, there is a small round plastic cover underneath the yoke (just above the front mudguard). You can unclip this cover and insert the extender from below)... have seen another video showing this approach - you just need a small bit of foam to push it all the way to the top of the yoke until you have tightened it from the top.

    I did this and it will not stay secure for long. After 1 month the stem become lose and I have to keep replacing the bolt, quadlock needs a stem that will work for the Panigale, the price is over $125 after you buy all part and the vibration damper, we shouldn’t have to go buy anything else to amount it to our motorcycle.

    • @rstarmotorsports2660
