Hi, Dennis. Toby has long been a favorite artist of mine. Toby and his wife lost their oldest son, Truett (Tru) in 2019. Toby said this is the first song of hope he’s written since Tru’s death.
Your analogy is solid for sure. One other thing I kinda got from it, based on the 99 attendance, he's like the shepherd, leaving the 99 to find (chase) the 1.
Yes. Because at the end when the kids enters the tent, the attendance is 100. I think of the Jean jacket Toby as the shepherd wrangling that lost sheep back to the herd
I've never been much of a Christian music listener (a few Amy Grant songs in the late 80's early 90s) though I have great faith in our Lord. I grew up listening to 80's music but I heard this song and now I am OBSESSED with this song! I plan on tattooing these lyrics on my arm: I've seen my share of troubles, but the Lord hasn't failed me yet, so I'm waiting on the promise ya'll, that He's rolling up His sleeves again ". I have the artwork in my head and can't wait to get it done. Toby has made me a Christian music fan. Great reaction!

Thanks for doing a reaction to this one! I forgot how much I loved TobyMac... I've been a huge fan since listening to dc Talk on tape as a kid, but I've lost track of some of his newer stuff from the last couple of years. This reminded me that I really need to do some catching up.
Psalm 103:8-18

King Family Reacts, Just as you can see on the old school attendance it stated 99, then when the boy entered the tent it is 100, which is referencing that God leaves the 99 to get that 1 lost sheep. Also in refernece to Cory Asbury's song Reckless Love

Toby is definitely an instrument use by God The Father. Toby as a teen along with his family were not Christians . Toby when with a friend to church & was moved & saved & took Our Lord Christ Jesus home and as a result, the household was “Saved!” He used his talents & gifting to serve God The Father & introducing hundreds of thousands (maybe millions),to Christ Jesus…
People sometimes don’t realize that faithful christians, also have difficult even some of the hardest of trials. As with Toby the loss of his 1st born son Truett,(Toby has said, he was my wild child.), I’m sure the Enemy, the one that comes to steal, kill and destroy thought he had Toby where he wanted him. i said all of that to say, this fellow Christian made a remarkable example for us one & all. But using this heart breaking & one of life’s hardest things losing a child to Glorifying his personal Lord & Savior Christ Jesus, & even in this 21 yrs with his son, “Help Is on The Way” I’ve seen enough to say, Help is on the way. One part of the song said sometimes it’s years. i have finally been able to hug the manifestation of prayers for 20yrs plus for my son to come back to me. God The Father is so faithful my son returned to me as a Believer along with his beautiful family… So never give up, because Help is on The Way… Wow & Hallelujah, Thank You Father!
