@@shaikmansoorJ0It's true, IT industry is currently booming providing the highest packages across the globe. The competition is really high here, and non CS/ IT students are also switching to careers in IT. For example: Sundar Pichai studied Metallurgical engineering but switched to the IT industry and became the CEO of Google and Alphabet. And he did MS and MBA as well from reputed Colleges, MBA is a "Big Plus" as well. That's why most engineers after gaining some experience switch to an MBA. It's all about mass effect. It's the current scenario but time will decide what happens next.

All kinds of engineering departments are really cool and interesting if one got a love for it, say, electricals, mechanical, chemical, robotics, etc, but it's sad to see that India doesn't have much scope for these fields due to lack of manufacturing infrastructures snd development in the country. This is truth of engineering sector, overproduction of engineer with no practical knowledge who are unemployable. Then there are people in comment section who announces, i earn this and that as engineer and whatnot. Just because there is Ambani in india doesn't change the fact that average yearly income of Indian is around 1.5 lakh rupees.
If you are pursuing engineering, there is 95% chance that you will be disappointed. Ofcourse, you could be lucky one.

Someone with a Btech in IT plus MBA would be better able to understand and work as a Program Manager at a Technical Firm, not some BMM or BBA grad. Engineers are good at analytics, that's why they score supremely higher than most non engineers, proving them extra smart in the entrance exam itself. Engineering opens up people's mind in a way no other course ever can, when they make all technical creative projects and marketing is nothing but just about getting and implementing the right ideas. It is MBA who needs engineers more, not engineers who need MBA. The quality of people graduating from B - Schools will take a very major hit and will be an irreparable damage if Engineers stop getting into B Schools.

@@commenterdek3241 totally agree..pcm students have more opportunities like after 12th they can go for engineering, bba, bcom, bbm, bca but if they take commerce or arts they r only few options....and another bitter truth is becoz of these engineers students like me (bcom) don't get jobs they literally fit into everything 🙂
