    Ever come across unfamiliar or familiar places that are unsettling?
    Share your experiences.
    EDIT: Apologies at 4:20. Was not supposed to be there and unintentional...or was it?
    Also, thanks for all the comments. It's fun reading through your gaming adventures.

    Nothing to do with the video.
    But you ever get that feeling that OOT and Mario 64 feels like you never finished it?, like it feels like there is more to explore and discover.
    You finished it and explored everything but there's that feeling that there's more out there.
    Maybe it's just me.

    • @zuzhi64
      @zuzhi64  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, 100%. OOT, it feels like this world seems artificially constructed. And Link is stuck here, trying to break free of this world's boundaries. I always get The Truman Show vibes.
      Mario 64, even moreso. Just a giant playground or a giant museum with weird exhibitions (different paintings/worlds) for you to explore. I've probably finished it properly with all 120 stars 3 or 4 times. Yet, after grabbing the last star, I felt somehow at unease and yearning for more.
      I heard there was a sequel to Mario 64, called "Mario 128" for the 64DD but cancelled due to lack of demand? What would that have been like I wonder?

    I used to do this sort of thing all day long in this game as a kid, just trying to get to the strangest places that would seem out of reach.

      Right? As a kid, everything is exciting to you. But as we all grow older, we may sometimes forget those nostalgic memories that we wish to relive and see things with a more nuanced approach.

    I’ve never played OAT but some games are strangely liminal to me when they shouldn’t be, like in super Mario odyssey, go to like the sand kingdom, and just go to the edge of the map and look off of it, like there’s just expanse for what seems like forever, so much sand and very little explanation for what’s out there. This applies for any kingdom really, metro kingdom is suspended over a massive pit, humans shouldn’t have been able to construct these towering structures out in the middle of the void, yet it’s just.. there.

    • @zuzhi64
      @zuzhi64  9 месяцев назад

      I can definitely visualise that. Sometimes, you stare at something for so long, your mind drifts off into this weird state and your perception of reality becomes skewed.
      Your experience reminds me of the time when I played Mario Galaxy and staring into the expanse of space. Such a departure from the grounded 64 and Sunshine games. And one of my favourite games on the Gamecube.
      I definitely want to get into Odyssey at some point.
      Thanks for sharing your moments. Really great stuff.

    • @garhd
      @garhd 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@zuzhi64 oh yeah sunshine is very liminal too, theres just something about 3d mario and liminality that go hand and hand for some reason, like in the game theres like a description for pianta village and it states that there was like a massive creature in the pit and its almost sorta disappointing that you never get the chance to go down there and see the monster for yourself

    • @zuzhi64
      @zuzhi64  9 месяцев назад

      @@garhd yeah things like these are just little nuggets of knowledge that leave room for your brain to ruminate on. And think of all these creative and wacky ideas.
      Sometimes, we get to see it and sometimes we don't. But, it's interesting to see an individual's perception of what they feel.

    Seems like you deleted my comment because it made too much sense. Your claim was that people always pull video ideas off existing videos. True, its not illegal. My arguement is that its not cool when its a small content creater who prioritizes creating videos on unique and origonal topics. You vould do an eggbusters spin off, and it would be unoriginal. Credit is due for any austin, hes basically an artist with the work put into his content. All of these spin offs are theorietically taking views away from that channel.
    You can do it, but it sure is lame

    • @zuzhi64
      @zuzhi64  8 месяцев назад

      Well, this is an interesting post.
      Firstly, you assume I deleted your comment because I know I definitely did not.
      Secondly, you assume I prioritise creating videos on unique and original topics. It seems like you feel just because you notice other videos who share similarities to one of your favourite youtubers or channels that you follow then that's an automatic red flag. You also mentioned other creators who make similar videos so that means their work is automatically invalidated?
      Thirdly, I'll reiterate again. Austin is a great content creator and I totally respect his work. I would never plagiarise from someone's work and would equally criticise those who did. This would mean absolutely copy, word word, image by image etc.
      For me personally, I enjoy making what I make, playing what I play. And in doing so, sharing my experiences with others. Just because my content has "cross-over" to other videos doesn't mean it's disallowed. In fact, it can also attract viewers to other similar channels such as Austin and help him gain more discoverability.
      Anyway, that's all I have to say.
      Thanks for your comment and opinions.

      @@zuzhi64 I did assume you deleted my comment because it was there and then went away. Anyways, I never assumed you prioritized originality, so if you're not looking to do that then good job I guess lol.

      @@jerkey of course. I can respect your opinions and you're totally entitled to them.
      I'm not the type to get easily offended anyhow. All viewpoints should be equal as long as they show value. Which is why I decided give you a longer response.
      If you decide to support or not, that's totally cool.
      Either way, much appreciate your views and hope you have a good one.

    blatantly copying anyaustin i see

    • @zuzhi64
      @zuzhi64  9 месяцев назад +16

      Any Austin's videos are great. But, there's copying and there's called being inspired.
      If I straight up ripped off his or anyone's channel, I'd use exactly the same script, effects, music (which he creates his own) or his nuances in the way he speaks.
      That isn't me.
      You could also call out many many "let's play" or other gaming channels that "blatantly copy" others. But most will have their own styles, which may share some similarities.
      Or if looking at classical paintings and artists, many people these days use them as reference or inspiration.
      Thanks for your comment.

      @@zuzhi64 definitely man! I remember sitting in Hyrule field for hours watching the sky change when I was 5 years old. Or drawing the master sword from the pedestal 50 times in a row just to watch the cutscene play over and over…A bit crazy🤣 but have always been in love with the art direction of this game and attention to detail

      That's actually hilarious dude! 😂 I didn't quite go as overboard with your 50x master sword drawing from pedestal, but I did do similar 😅 also, as a 5yr old I can totally understand the "epicness" of those times.
