I’m 40 and this album changed the whole rap scene altogether. Before CG, no rap was played on Top 40 radio-except Will Smith. Once this album became mainstream success, more rap was being played on pop radio stations. I hated the album at first because I felt it was watering down hip-hop. The ladies loved it, so I came around. We would cruise all night, systems bumping Nelly, and hollering at all the baddies. I was 16 when CG came out and it was the soundtrack to summer 2000.
I'm from STL and the clubs were so much fun when Countey Grammer dropped. We went to Daytona for Spring Break after Chingy dropped and had the clubs doing the "mono" aka "chicken head" dance 😂😂😂

When I wrote the script for the video, I wasn't thinking of all of that pertaining to Bow Wow because it honestly wasn't that deep. I didn't put much thought into it because the video isn't about him. I just looked at the biggest rap albums of 2000 and wrote them down like I do for every video in this series. There's a bunch of albums I didn't mention

Riaa doesn't update their album sales every year like they should, there's a whole bunch of songs and albums that haven't been updated in many years and don't have the correct sales posted
