I was lucky enough to see this show on tour in SLC, and I've got to say that even the band looked like they were having a ball. I don't know where they got Taysia (sp?), but she is amazing on that bass. Great artist and a great show for sure! Go Janelle, go!

so the individual movements and efforts of ONE genre of creation can definitely be seen in harmony with others as a collaborative one accord type of thing even in celebrating the differences we embody typin' ......cuz this is very different from a rihanna class concert type but they encourage to uplift in a controlled craziness type of way ....muy nice and beyond, even.

Yeah a shame about the editing. It's trying to be a film-clip, when the whole beauty of watching a performer live is to see the experience of pure expression as it unfolds, not as a series of chopped up bits put together. This brilliant woman requires no enhancement with editing trickery.
She is being put in place for very deep reasons. It will take people time to get it. They are still blinded by the lights. She is in a very solid place. Put there by very big people. It just doesn't have that "hook" factor that Parliament and Michael Jackson had. I can't even really remember the hook to "Q.U.E.E.N." and I've listened to that song quite a bit. She pays tribute to tons of artists in her art, as beefheart would say "she wears her past like a present", I see tributes to Michael Jackson, James Brown, Little Richard, George Clinton, and Dale Bozzio, in her amazing performance here. I guess...I really want to like her, I love what she is doing, but her music doesn't quite bounce off the walls of mind like I think it should.
Disagree! I've had Faster/Locked Inside, Many Moons, and a few others stuck in my head, on and off, for about 5 years. I do think that she's moving away from writing memorable songs, unfortunately. I didn't really like the new album; it didn't have that urgent, heart-wrenching emotion that some of the older songs had, and that's what drew me in, originally. Still, I've got much respect for her.

Yes, it's a very white Dutch festival. Lots of indie bands and djs, not much soul, hiphop or r&b. Very Dutch culture too, a dirty and cramped campsite with not much luxury, and a long walk from the festival terrain. It's not really attractive to a lot of cultures, to be honest. This festival was also at the same time as Haarlem Jazz & more with a lot more black musicians and audience.
After time they will get her out of her clothes if she is not careful. She will be forced to join the illuminati or else. If she hasn't already. If she does not comply, something bad will happen to her. God bless protect her.
