The L322 is a lovely old ship, I have a 2008 3.6 and it has been on numerous trips to the Austrian Alps. It has never become stuck in snow wearing its Pirelli Scorpions , it always feels pretty invincible. Great to see yours piling on the miles 👍
Two Legends, one on four wheels and one brave enough to take the L322 on a lovely holiday to the Alps. Great scenery, great effort. Next year new tyres and some snow action😁#Respect
Very kind of you to say. I love how quiet these tyre are, I just don't like the arse puckering moments when I'm bowling along at 70 and the thing decides to turn hovercraft on me. Any alternative suggestions welcome, but need to be quiet 🤐
Thanks so much for subscribing. It is an amazing looking car. A bit of a shame that it took BMW to design and engineer, probably a better car for it though.
Glad you enjoyed it. Not the highest production values, camera skills or delivery fluency, but hopefully I'm able to get across my L322 experience so far.
Im in the process of doing oil cooler and as Rob mentioned I got mine from advanced factors, around £150 it’s probably worth swapping the hose to radiator pipe at same time as the o rings deteriorate as I have found out 😢😢 this bit of pipe is around £30 but I’m struggling to get one due to lack of availability
There does appear to be a perfect storm brewing for the fate of UK L322s making them almost worthless. ULEZ flooded the market, road tax, insurance. Then there's the maintenance costs if you have to rely on someone else to do the work. Such a shame lots of major components are failing at around 10 years old.
Interesting Dale. Are you sure we’re talking about the same pump? The part number I have on my invoice from Venture 4x4 is LR061536 @ £1,175 plus VAT. I believe this was the Bosch OEM as supplied by JLR, but just not in a JLR box. Also charged 6 hours labour @ £87.50 per hour plus VAT. Interested to hear if this is a total over estimation of the job.
Hi, I really appreciate your comment. At the moment I'm doing all the filming on a very old phone.. I'm going to invest in a new iPhone and some kind of mic so the audio is more consistent. As for the 360p quality, I'll take a look at that too. Must be a setting in iMovie somewhere. Always learning. Much appreciated 👍.
@@Woodyrvf750 yeah Would recommend the iPhone probably the best video camera on the market , I have the 13 pro and put it in cinema mode and wow , yeah check your settings as it all looks blocky which is a shame because I am a fan of RR
Very useful tips. Thanks @josephgittos3787, I realise I'm a long way from delivering the kind of quality that we all enjoy on lots of other automotive channels. New phone is the first step.

General Grabber AT3 on mine with 15,000 miles on them .. still looking good - fantastic grip 👍🏼
I think us L322 4.4 TDV8 owners enjoy this sort of content. My blower is blown as well😮 looking forward to,seeing how you get on👍👍
Thanks for your kind comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Blower motor this weekend is my plan.
@1971V12 blower motor replaced. Video later today.
Falken wildpeak a/t3 are fabulous in the wet and snow
Thank-you Rob. Very useful to know. I’m trying my best to wear down these tyres before next winter. How are the Falkens for road noise?
Not too bad actually. I can’t say I’ve noticed much difference. Bloody good off road too , and, a 50,000 mile guarantee, and 3 snow peak rated.
@@robgreenhill1426 OMG! I’ve just had a look at these online! They look pretty serious.
Such a great looking car, what a trip too. Subscribed.

Enjoyed the video (subscribed). We are looking at a similar trip later in the year and wondered what mpg you managed on such a long run?
Thanks for subscribing. I'm pretty sure we got just under 30 mpg, or maybe just over. Cruise control Was set at 130 kph when possible.
Brilliant video....
Glad you enjoyed it.

Oil coolers. Use Nissens. Advanced Factors the place to get them 😊
Why the preference for Nissens oil cooler over genuine? Just cost or is there another advantage?

Had those Pirelli’s on my L320 and they are s*it. I moved to Scorpion Allseason SF2. Hope they are better.
@@vasiabikeru thanks for the recommendation. I’m looking forward to getting them changed!
Loved my back in the day but there old knackers now

Full diy guide on blower motor replacement on full fat forum by Garyrr 😊
Yes, that guide is excellent. Printed out and parts ordered for the weekend.
£2000 to change high pressure fuek pump? Ive seen the pumps for £110 how long did it take to change? Is it an engine out job i assume with that price?

@@Woodyrvf750 I'll get back to you on this one.
Whip those sill covers off, clean and treat.
Very good idea. I'll get that done after I've sorted the blower motor.

Wow better quality camera/RUclips would of been better , its quality is only 360p
