I never hate George Bush, or his father. They are respectable men. Trump, on the other hand, is a SOB. Agree. I don't understand why it's SO HARD for Americans to see through the thinly veiled evil of many politicians (most of them are Republicans). They never pay attention to the actions of those evil politicians and only listened to the flowery empty words. *They underestimate the good things their Democrat presidents do for them* and excuse the horrible things Republican presidents gave them. As someone watching from afar, it was so easy for me to pick presidents for the US.

I should point out that most of those regulations were removed by Clinton. W was told that he should probably put those back but he was told that no matter what option he chose, he was gonna cause a crash.
I'm a liberal but Clinton repealed most of the regulations which contributed to the crash. The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act repealed the Glass-Steagall Act, a cornerstone of Depression-era regulation. He signed the Commodity Futures Modernization Act, which exempted credit-default swaps from regulation. In 1995 Clinton loosened housing rules by rewriting the Community Reinvestment Act, which put added pressure on banks to lend in low-income neighborhoods.

@Kay Theo It really is amazing seeing how demonised Trump is when his predecessors were so much worse. Bush brought war to the Middle East, as you said 1.5 million deaths are on his head. Beyond that, huge sections of Iraq and Afghanistan went without electricity or running water for years, as we took those out when we invaded. Obama managed to sow discord across the Middle East, inciting wars and allowed Isis to take over an enormous area. The war in Syria was started by the Obama administration and EU leaders. They call it a civil war, yet around 85% of the people fighting against Assad are not Syrian and have been funded, trained and armed by the West.
And yet Trump is an incomparable monster because he wants to limit immigration, something that the overwhelming majority of American citizens also want. Republicans AND Democrats were both pushing for him to go into Syria, but Trump fires ONE missile at a Syrian military base he had warned the Russians to leave beforehand and everyone shuts up. One missile versus a war. The Trump Administration has a FAR lower death toll that its predecessors. He more or less did the same thing with Soleimani, a man that has planned terrorist attacks in the US and was training/leading forces against the US in Iraq. One drone strike and Iran has to realise that they aren't going to get away with the same crap they pulled under Obama. And they certainly aren't going to get pallet-loads of cash dropped to them for doing it like the did under Obama.

You know something is wrong when Bush is laughing at your Presidency.
There were several things that I enjoyed in President Trump's first Address to Congress. First, his overall theme of unity really inspired me and made me more confident that he is going to be just fine. I know he was reading a teleprompter, but he still conveyed a conviction about himself that I have not seen before from him. Another moment that really touched me was his emotional salute to the fallen Seals wife. That was a powerful moment that will go down, in my opinion, as one of the greatest moments in Presidential history. While I am not completely sold, especially with the recent findings about AG Sessions and his ties to Russia, I think progress is coming even if it is inching at a snails pace.
What are your thoughts on Trump 6 years later?
