@lambchop-bs3fy that's right because him want his million of dollars spend until his dead and that need time so him have to go to gym and work out like a gorilla.
Jay just wanted to say thanks for putting all this out there. Social media can make bodybuilding way too complex and cause one to question everything. But your style is what I grew up learning and it’s great to get back to it.
I love what Jay just said Texas full extension. Other people would come in and coach him and say. Oh you could get so much more you're leaving so much on the table, He enjoys what he does he gets where he wants to go. Why isn't That enough, There's a time and place for form. There's a time to just let it go and let it rip. There's a time for full extension. There's time for partials. There's there's times for the range of motion that you can do so you don't get hurt.
Great technique Jay. I also use constant tension on every exercise I can for a better mind muscle connection and pump. These days I start off chest training with the Pec Deck or Cable Crossovers.
It’s interesting the things that you can learn from different people. In almost all circumstances with that type of machine, I’ve always been told full extension. I guess it really comes down to whatever you feel like works the best and Jay certainly knows what he’s doing.
Depends on many things. Also, at the top of the chest press, the triceps take over along with the deltoids. so, if he wants to just hit the chest, I don't think it's too bad leaving out the top 20% of the rep. Not sure what the science says, but seems intelligently crafted
Always start your workouts with the hardest thing (free weights) unless you want to warm up quick with a machine. After you do free weights, you can move on to machines.
More time-under-tension for the targeted muscle this way. When you use full ROM and you lock-out or are at the bottom of a movement, there's minimal if any muscular tension at those points. He just takes them out entirely and focuses on the parts of the lift that have the most tension.
If he tried to lock out at the top of the movement it would be very minimal chest, it would be predominantly triceps and shoulders. And if he went into a really deep stretch at the bottom of the movement, his delts would be in a vulnerable position under the amount of weight he's using to train chest and he could tear his rotator cuff. This is the correct ROM for what he's trying to achieve through this movement
By stopping just short of full extension, the muscles remain under constant tension throughout the movement. This is better for muscle hypertrophy (growth), as continuous tension increases the time under tension, which is a key factor in building strength and size. so stop acting all smart when your in fact wrong. it does not 'squeeze' the pecs more but it does it less
Because thats not how it works. You have full range of the motion of the joint, and then theres full range of motion of the muscle, and that will look different for everyone. Going all the way up actually transfers the load to the triceps and takes it off the chest. Its also safer on the joints to not go to either extreme.
@NabilElsayed-k6jtime under tension is a factor, but its not really the key. Mechanical tension and progressive overload are far more important than the amount of time you spend under tension, but its still something that you dont want to forget about.
It sucks..there's no full extension. Not even a partial. The drugs did all the work here. Good guy..but his training is fucked up. He's most likely maintaining with trt and his fucked up lifting.
You cant tell just by looking at someone exactly how the forces are playing out on their muscles. And i think jay knows how to get the most out of bench for chest. And the front delts are always going to be involved to some extent, just like the triceps.

as a warm up, I do 3 sets of 30 diamond push ups with the squeeze 🔥🔥🔥
@TÜRK_ALP Those are tough!
@@MarcoIsBig yeah I seen Kai Green do them as a warm up, then jump straight into heavy incline press haha they are great 👍🏻
Why would you want better mind muscle connection and a pump
@slade-m3b Definitely, I talk about Kai and him doing this kind of stuff in my video about bodybuilders being a lot stronger than you think.
Damn jay still takes great care of himself

Jay never has done full ROM on any press. He’s also elite at contracting whatever muscle he’s targeting, as are all bodybuilders.
@ agreed!

I think I agree with Jay on this one. It’s good to warm up on machines and the free weights feel more stable.

Look at front shoulder. There is more pressure to front shoulders than pectorals

Pay attention to the angle of the sternum to whatever he’s pressing at the bottom. It’s basically perfect for targeting chest.
