Like I mentioned in previous post , this will run a 120v fluxcore welder at 60 amps for about 2 hours or so, a full size fridge for 4 hours and a mini fridge for 8 hours. There are other units on the market now like the EGO and Milwaukee but they won’t run a small welder. Mine is set up with the new 12 amps 20/60 flexvolt batteries. I hope this helps.
People that like these power stations don't seem to care about the possible danger of a modified sine wave inverter. I always see them running sensitive electronics and they never report any problems but I don't have the money to chance it so I made sure to get a power station with clean power. Just my opinion but it doesn't seem to bother most people.
@@jamie8917 If you get a trip lite line conditioner, you can run sensitive electronics with it without any problems, yeah sinewave is clean power, but not all power that comes out of outlets is pure sine, this includes the grid.
Nice video! I have 2 of these and run only the flexvolt 9 AH batteries on them. You can run your camper trailer at night like you say, but I can tell you it's not going to run your air conditioning all night long with out changing out the 4 batteries at least once. I ran a 1500 watt heater with mine and would get around 55 minutes out of my four 9 AH batteries before I need to change them out. It shouldn't be a guess. I personally do not want to run my equipment until it just shuts off because of no power. They make better power stations with bigger batteries, clean power and real-time power usage and runtime. The Dewalt could be so much better.

Xbox is not what I do when camping, but running DVD's over and over at night on that LCD TV for my little girl sure drains the trailer battery! The game is Battlefield 1 and hell yeah that power station is a little beast!
+TOOL BOSS thanks! The 4 amps still kick ass, but I need to for sure invest in 2 more flexvolts. I'll have to keep an eye on your channel for a good deal!
@Brenton : The voltage is the same, they don't add more "power", just longer runtime. A 60V flexvolt battery (6ah @ 20V) will run 3x as long as Dewalts 2ah batteries. Comparing the 6ah and 9ah, the 9ah gives 50% more runtime over the 6ah flexvolt battery. To get the longet runtime out of the power station, use four 9ah batteries. Considering that cost (a 9ah is about $100 each) you might as well buy a marine battery and a power inverter. You'll get 100x the amp hours.

The DCW1800 is not THAT good. Gives power for a little more than two hours . Some calculated that a fridge could run for a whole night on it or they calculated a day of watching TV etc. This power station gives up very fast if low energy consuming things are connected. You're not supposed to run it on it's side (blocks the fans airflow and potentially causes damage to the unit according to the manual). Certain appliances (such as A/C [not intended for that] and microwave among others, will kill the batteries early and quickly); Devices that use a pure sine wave or a modified sine wave too different form the DCB1800B modified sine wave. Got a question: I found that the DCB1800 works well with my aircon and my power tools, measuring the frequency during use my multimeter gives me 60 Hz . When connecting my computer plus TV I dont get 60 Hz frequency but 180 Hz. Do you, too, have that??? My fan, consuming very little, makes a humming sound when it runs and it doesnt run at full speed. Does the power station need a more substantial consumption to run well?
I don't believe that the power station needs more substantial consumption to run well. That's strange that your pc fan is running strange, I'm sure the power station is giving your power supply more than enough to run all components (motherboard/graphics card/fans etc.)
My PC fan is not running strange. My fan, my ventilator is running strange, it makes a humming sound and doesnt run at full speed. I used my multimeter to measure the frequency of what the power supply is giving me when running my ventilator and its 180 Hz instead of 60Hz. The power output of the Dewalt power supply should be 120V at 60Hz but when I attach it to my UPS, (a device I need as emergency power supply for my computer because we have a lot of power outages here,) then that device shows me 115V incoming instead of 120V. Only my power tools are running es expected and here the output frequency is finally 60 Hz.. Dewalt told me it was a modulated sine wave the Dewalt power supply gives me and that it should not be used with sensitive instruments.
I'm afraid to use this on anything other than power tools. I plugged in a fan which had digital speed settings and the circuit board on the fan started smoking after about 2 minutes. he should have plugged those in, inside the rv because he had a surge protector inline after the power bank. That should have corrected any current issues going into the rv
Not sure what is wrong with mine but i have FOUR NEW 9ah batteries in mine, charge up all 4, power it up and run a 150W incandescent bulb off of it and it dies in 3 hrs ... Thats physically impossible for something that can support 1800 watts continuous for 1 hour .. Maybe something wrong with the unit..??
That's definitely a head scratcher. I would say something is wrong with the unit. My father in law is currently using my power station with his small travel trailer for charging the deep cycle battery as well as running the water pump. He's going on 3 days with four 6ah batteries..
i am also leaning toward the unit itself because all 4 batteries are dead as if the unit is draining the batteries too fast on accident .. the chances of all 4 bad batteries are slim to none and even if it was one of the batteries, the unit would stop working when the 1st battery was dead ...
What i THINK is going on with it and i think i am right .... i have four 9 ah batteries in there. 9ah x 4 is 36 amps x 120V = 4320 total watts. This unit is DEAD in roughly 2.2 hrs just by using a single 150W bulb .. Now doing the math, running 1800 watts for ~2.2 hrs comes up to ~4320 watts ... I believe this unit is BURNING off 1650 watts continuous internally while only giving me the 150W that my bulb is asking for .. When i swap out the batteries for four 6 ah ... 6x4 = 24 amps x 120V = 2880 total watts, running 1800 watts continuous gives ~1.6 hrs and with my 150W bulb attached its dead in ~1.4hrs ... There math is there and the unit is working as if its burning off the 1800 watts even though i'm not using all 1800 watts... So if i am right, where the heck is the remaining 1650 watts going..?? Is it bled off thru some internal components or what..?? using four 9ah batteries gives me ~4320 watts and only using 150W, i should get like 28 hrs of run time .... You said yours is running longer right..??
@Mike C: Yes my math was wrong. A 20V x 9ah battery is 180Wh x 4 batteries = 720Wh TOTAL at 120V. So a 720W continuous load would last 1 hr on paper but in real world a lot less. an 1800W load will last you maybe 15 min if lucky. The issue with this unit is what if you have one weak battery that drains faster than the other 3, the unit will shut down once that weakest battery gives out.

@@johnricci4511 aw shucks. Yeah, I agreed with you that modified sine wave is not good for all electrician.
Wheeler Walker Jr!
Solar charger for 4 other batteries and you'll always have power
chadwick hayes how do you charge them with solar?
Hahahaha. 4 weeks you say? I highly doubt that.
How many times can u recharge the batt re ties before replacing?
I have no idea. I don't think there is a limit.
When you plug a tv and video game console in the dewalt 1800w powerstation does it damage them
No I does not
I’d look into pure and modified sine wave’s in relation to the Dewalt power station and make your decision based off of that info.
Yea I got my dewalt powerstation I use it playing game console with tv and I’m using 5amp hour batteries and it last
About an hour and a half I’m not impressed
@@benm6721 get batteries with more amps
How long can you run your AC?
Not that long with this power station. I'd image an hour or so....
thanks
It's good for power tools but as far as laptops Smart TVs anything with complex Electronics the modified sound wave that it puts out can damage delicate Electronics. So I would rethink making a video about hooking up laptops to this item because it will eventually damage the electronics.
What would happen if you add an Energy controller?, problem solved?
he should have plugged those in, inside the rv because he had a surge protector inline after the power bank. That should have corrected any current issues going into the rv
What watts was that microwave
Sorry, I forget
Will it work with the 54 flex volt batteries?
Should just be different naming.
Not a pure sign wave inverter no laptop only motors but you will screw up digital electronics !
at the price why not just get a generator?
silent power! 👊👊
Can't take it inside
You Tube your math is off that’s 36 ah at 20v at 120 that would be 6 ah correct???? Anyone???
@Mike C:
Yes my math was wrong.
No issues with running tv and xbox on modified sine wave?
None so far, spend hours on both without problems.
Just get a generator. It’s cheaper and can run the ac.
Do my use on a tv eather it will damage it !
