  • Park Junkie heads to the Nation's Capitol to bring attention to the issues of continued public access to public land, and Free Speech restrictions on public land.
Those who would like to send a message to their elected representatives in the House and the Senate can now visit the Democracy IO link below, which provides a quick, painless method by which you can find and message your reps in a matter of seconds.
Just go to the link below, as well as the Google Doc linked below that, copy the FLREA Letter to Reps in Google Docs, then paste that into the comment section in the Democracy IO link. This takes less than two minutes, and you'll rest well, knowing that you took action to effect change for the benefit of future generations of our people.
    Democracy.io: democracy.io/#!/
Googel Doc - FLREA - Letter to Reps: docs.google.co...
    Another option:
    docs.google.co...
Shortened Letter to Senators: Google Doc: docs.google.co...
If you love your National Parks and public lands, and you want to enjoy continued access to these lands, you need to take action NOW!
Please write your Congressional Reps, and your Senators, because they are the only impressionable shot we have to return our National Parks to the people. Corporate interests are taking hold of the entrance process to our public lands right before our eyes, and the Rec dot Gov system will eventually take over every aspect access to outdoor recreation on public lands.
If at all possible, send this letter to both of your Senators, as well as the members of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, for whom I have included a contact page as well.
    Thanks again, Todd C

Park Junkie, this is one of the best videos you've done. I know it's not rafting the Grand Canyon, visiting an isolated peak in Yellowstone, or running a slot canyon in Zion, but your talent shows through here. Your ability to dissect the laws, the BS of Federal authority, and to give it to those of us that really care about OUR public lands is far more valuable to the community and cause than I can represent here.
    Thank you!!

Hey Todd, thank you for standing up for all affected, which is all of us. Thank you as well for making it so easy to contact our elected officials. I sent mine today. It was so simple. I look forward to see what, if any impact this has on our public lands.

Thanks for taking a "wilderness" trip into Washington DC. I have lobbied in Washington DC over the years. The staff can get overwhelmed with huge numbers of lobbyists as well as letters and emails that number in tens of thousands.

Thanks again for leading the conversation and leading by example on these issues of paramount importance. So many have the wrong impression that what we are discussing here is RUclips or social media issues- that just scrapes the surface. This is a constitutional issue, a 1A issue. One that everyone should have a vested interest in order to maintain our rights as citizens of a free society under the protection of our constitution.

Hey Todd! Last time I was in DC was back in April 2000. The group I was with met with Senator Orin Hatch of Utah. I was a member of humanitarian group going to Ethiopia. Most of us were medical professionals. We also met with the Ethiopian Ambassador as well. Plus met with exiled members of the Ethiopian royal family. But I remember walking everywhere in DC. In freaking high heels! Those Senate builds are huge inside and the hallways are long. We even attended, one night while there, a convocation of the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem. Totally formal in the National cathedral in DC. Again in stupid heels. It was a wild 5 days before we boarded a plane to spend the next three months in Ethiopia. (No heels, just hiking boots thank goodness!) No rest for the wicked..lol.
But so glad to see you in the DC area working for the benefit of everyone who go to our National Parks and Monuments. Thank you for all you do.

Only you can rock that hat 😂 I’m glad you spent the time giving them info from someone “on the ground”. It’s DC but you have the parking app where you can add time. Enjoy the rest of the time there…not enough people actually take the time to make it to DC. You had a great day for a visit. Unfortunately, my congressman’s office was closed the day I arranged for a tour so I went down the hall to another congressman and they were kind enough to take me on a tour. I love DC.. sometimes. 😊 BTW, you had the best closing shot… I like to go to the monuments at night… especially the Lincoln Memorial as you did. Handicap parking is nice and close and the mall is beautiful at night.
