Not sure what the originals sounded like. But, within the context of a full mix, these types of drum sounds would typically be taking up way too much real estate. In these showcase types videos there's nothing but the drums, so it doesn't matter if there's no room for anything else.

Obviously I’m not implying album version should have the drums this far out in front, just that it’s nice hearing these parts actually played on a well-mic’ed kit rather than sounding like ticky samples
