I was probably one of the few little 12 yr old white boys jamming to this in 1974. This one, Hollywood Swinging, Dancing Machine, Show & Tell, Rock Your Baby, Come and Get Your Love, Be Thankful For What You Got, all on my record player then.

Marvin Gaye my all time favorite artist. I was crushed when his idiot dad killed him. Funny thing is I still remember exactly what I was doing that day. I was studying for a midterm up at Trenton State College (TCNJ) now. But I was laying on my bed studying for a Western Civilization class + I had a pretty nice 27 inch RCA tv + the news came on with Marvin Gaye was shot + killed in LA + of course by his so called pastor father. Im not gonna lie it hurt

This song was in heavy rotation on Saturday mornings when I was young. It always reminds me of my mother getting me up at the crack of dawn so we could get all the Saturday morning house cleaning done before noon. Music was always blasting throughout the house while we got our chores done. Good times.

Very relatable at this moment. My girlfriend (ex now) who also happened to be the best friend I’ve made in my lifetime and I split and I’ve thought about ending it multiple times now. Luckily music is here for me when no one else is. Something about sharing experience through music is just what the soul needs at your lowest point. She’s running off with her ex fiancé and my mistake is that I still love her through it all. Life goes on and I can only hope to find a love that matches what we had without the downfalls we suffered.
The real point of the song to the man is not to be afraid to really love your Queen, and let her know how much you do,especially when she is telling you how much she loves you. I hope you find your queen and let her know how much you love her. Truthfully to love is never a mistake, it's on the other to reciprocate that Love, where and when you just feel like you on top of the world.
Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell were my favorite duo, but I am also a Diana Ross fan so, I was able to accept this pairing. I liked all the songs on this album.😊

Ahh that album over and over back in the day. Loved it.
Make no mistake, I love this song. The opening chords... the vocalized sentiments..the melodics and rhythm...all express the regrets of love lost (or perhaps wasted). But because they sing in harmony, it can be from the viewpoint of either side. And it is upbeat...not mournful...you feel they can/will go on to a love that's true.
