MINO is a whole package.
When he produces his music, he always thinks of every aspect. His lyrics are so witty and deep that there are times it is hard to understand his wordplay if you are not Korean.
His sounds are produced based on the mood he is setting for the song as well as his music video. He helps in conceptualizing it.
Even the arrangement and transition of songs in his albums are well thought of. His albums are like a story put together and expressed in every song.
It would be better if you were able to react to his Killing Verse with subtitles. He is considered a genius lyricist.
By the way, I think I would describe MINO's rap style as UNORTHODOX.
You will never know what he will throw at you.
Which is why I love him. His music surprises me every time.

He's really something. He surpassed being just an idol, he's a born ARTIST. His personality is good too, he's well known in Korea not just as a rapper but a variety show legend since New Journey to the West. His group members from WINNER are all top tier artist too individually and together they are powerful. I JUST LOVE THEM.

I (니가), you (내가) & your (느그) sound all very similiar, thats already confusing LMAO and for english speakers they also sound similar to the n-word, but its not what was meant.
he's among the best kpop rappers but the ballads he composes for winner are great too. my personal favorites are my bad, remember and hold (this one's not a ballad though but it's a fun song with a funny mv). i also love that he's quirky and funny

Actually, at 14:56 , it's not the N word, but Mino's lyrics just said the Korean words 내가 (nae-ga), which mean "I" in Korean, 니가 (ni-ga) means "you" in Korean and 느그 (neu-gue), which mean "your" in Korean dialect. BTW love your reaction.

The swag It's a YG thing... I'm sure Bobby gives that too. To think Bobby couldn't rap befor he came to YG, same as blackpink jennie shows that YG has skills to teach rap and help the artist develop their on artistic colour.
I beg to disagree as this does not apply to Mino, imo. Before entering YGE, he's been an underground rapper and almost debuted with BlockB. Even the rap mentors in YGE mentioned that Mino is already a rapper with his skills so they don't have anything to teach him.
Also, his stage presence has been enhanced thru the years of performing with WINNER, w/ other collabs, nd solos too.
It would safe to assume that he agreed to join the company so that he can secure the bag and be able to produce albums and establish a career in the mainstream for the public to consume; which he fortunately is able to achieve until now.
@zel2356 He went through surviva with YG. If he was already at the level you think he was.. he wouldn't go through that. From the first episode to last, he made huge progress. Like you said.. was an underground rapper just like TOP was. You probably know that he went through also with a survival show. The majority of rappers have experience be for signing (Hanbin, Top, GD, Lexy) That doesn't make him or her to the standard that YG wants. Mino went to SMTM. He grew immensely, too.
