As a super average golfer, I can confirm that the 101 are the most forgiving, best all around utility set of irons I’ve used. P-4 are fantastic! I’d recommend Takomo to all my friends/ family I left my 8 iron behind on a corse and someone snagged it. So pissed at myself
Great video Tim. Made me smile. “Golf bullies me”. Great line. I can sooo relate to that. I have ordered some customised 101{s which are arriving on Tuesday. I can’t wait!! Thank you guys!
I’ll be getting the 101Ts this year hopefully! Love the look of the clubs and think they would really help my game. Also really enjoyed the hole with the drone from above. Just remember there are pros out there who have done the same thing 😂
Well done Tim! I'm torn between the 101's and 201's. I just absolutely love the looks of the 201's because they are a cavity back forged club. I have not heard a great deal about the 201 but more about the 101, 101T & 301's. I would like to have some feedback from you guys on the pros and cons of the 201. Keep the vlogs coming.
I personally am a huge fan of the 201's! There is an irons only challenge coming with the 201s soon. As far as comparison I'd say this. 101's are going to have a little more distance for most people and they offer an extra bit of forgiveness. But they don't have that same forged feel off the face and aren't quite as easy to shape shots. 201's feel super soft off the face and I feel like I can work them easier. They are more forgiving than the 301's but not as forgiving as the 101's. So it really comes down to what you prioritize in irons. Forgiveness or feel. Hope this helps! -Tim
I play them and love them. I'm up in years and these irons are perfect for my far from perfect swing. Not to mention how gorgeous I think they are. I'm definitely a Tokomo fan.
Great videos, Tim. The drone coverage was hilarious. I'm a 9 hndcp senior golfer who was losing some distance with my clubs (Titleist AP1's). Having developed some nasty arthritis in both hands, I also needed irons that would not send shock waves up through my arms, but couldn't find any after testing most of the big name brands. I actually thought I'd have to quit the game. I stumbled on to James Robinson's review of the 101's, and based on that, ordered the heads. I put KBS Tour 105 stiff shafts in them, soft stepping the 4 and 5 irons. All I can say is wow! I regained between 5-7 yards per club first time out on a cool day here in NC. More importantly, the feel was fantastic. Softest feeling clubs I've ever hit. And bonus - the clubs look fantastic - classy and minimalist, without all the marketing nonsense (speed pocket, Tungsten, etc.) written all over them. They look like the blades I played in my youth, but perform like G.I. cavity backs. I've already ordered a second set of the heads and will try a set of UST Mamiya 780 graphite shafts in them, just for fun. All I need now is for Takomo to add an AW wedge to the set. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to keep playing the game I love!
Chris thank you so much for this comment! We started this company because we love the game of golf and wanted to help people enjoy it as much as possible so hearing feedback like this is why we do it!
@@takomogolfcompanyive been debating if im going to buy the 101 or the 101t ,12 handicapper here, which one good looking and forgiving between those two?
Just tried my brand new 101s today on a simulator (Minnesota) they feel amazing! My 9 iron almost holed out on a 157yd par 3. I'm just a average bogey golfer, 80s/90s
They are fantastic clubs and I think you'll love them! The main reason they aren't quite as forgiving as the 101's is just that the club heads are a bit smaller. But overall they are still very forgiving and the smaller club face and little bit less offset make them more appealing at address for some golfers. I probably play some of my best golf with these irons. -Tim
Tim got my 101's last week, been to the driving range to see how they perform, the one thing is they fly straight , I normally draw the ball but these things just go straight.
I play to a 10 handicap index. I am debating 101 or 101T. I currently play Mizuno 921 hot metals with a 29° 7 iron. Would you recommend the 101 or 101T?

Not only does golf bully you it just F_cks with your head. Played yesterday shot 45 on the front (ok for me) back I lost 5 balls and on the last hole thinned the piss out of an 8 iron from 160 to 20+ft pass the whole then make a down hill down grain double break putt for Birdy, for a 53 on the back😂
Just got my 101 heads today!!! But my dumbass procrastinated and didn’t order the custom ferrules till yesterday! How far did you rip that 4 iron on the last hole? Speaking of long irons! Any idea when the driving iron is coming out?
I'm not sure exactly how far the 4 iron on the last went since it hit that tree but because its winter and the fairways are dormant I was getting a lot of rollout so it's anywhere from a 230-245 club off the tee if I hit it well. Let me know how the build goes when it all comes in! - Tim
I mean the clubs did their job and if you've watched any of our other videos you know the most likely reason for problems on the course is user error on my part haha! -Tim
Great video. Is there a place in California where I could get fitted for the Takomo irons? I am still new at golf and being a leftist make it hard to find clubs..
We don't have a fitting location out in California but we do allow you to buy just the club heads themselves and then you can take them to a local fitter and try different shafts to find what you like.
@@takomogolfcompany okay I will have to do some saving up for them. Thank you for the information. Please keep up on the videos with James and Chris. In fact James Robinson first introduced me to your brand. 👍
