  • Dewalt Toughsystem Cooler 5 Day Challenge!
    Today we are putting the Dewalt toughsystem cooler to the test! On the cooler box it says that it will keep ice for 5 days, so we decided to put that claim to the test! We have a standard cooler as well to see the ice retention difference, but the more important question is will this dewalt tough system cooler box last for 5 days? Or will it melt under the pressure? Lets find out!

    Vince, I saw one of these tests once with Yeti vs RTIC. The trick to getting the ice to last longer was filling the coolers all the way with ice. The more ice in the cooler, the longer the ice retention. Still a great cooler. Great video guys!

      Yep! I was about to say the same thing! Also, on a jobsite the cooler gets opened a lot meaning each time the cooling envelope is broken.

    My Cousin Vinny... “Identical”. Lol. I caught that reference! Nice video as usual.. I can’t believe Dewalt didn’t include a drain plug.. Wondering if that would hinder ice retention in some way?? Keep up the good work VCG Crew!

    I wouldlike you to do the test with the dewalt only. 2 7lb bags of ice sealed and tossed in left in the sun for 5 days. See if there is a shred of ice left. Wouldnt cost too much

    No bad but it doesn’t live up to its claim, but for its price point I would definitely add it to my Dewalt Tough System 👍🏼

    What about cooling down the tough system cooler before putting the ice in it? Maybe throwing it in the freezer for a few hours or over night before the bags of ice get put in it would increase the ice retention. Since the box would start out cooler the ice would melt at a slower rate.

  • @larrydingle77
    @larrydingle77 8 месяцев назад

    Vince I love the channel but here’s my problem with your test people normally use a cooler throughout the course of the day
    so the temperature constantly is changing I wouldn’t love to see a test where you open and close the coolers at least 5- 6 times a day to kinda give a real simulation of ice retention

    Ive personally have never had much luck with Rubbermaid Coolers. In the Rubbermaid’s defense their cooler was much larger space vs dewalt. However I think the results would of been the same.

      i keep a small igloo cooler in the van in the summer...has a handle and wheels...it doubles as table to write invoices and to rest my arm...in summer the van can hit 130+ degrees inside...it keeps the ice good enough until quitting time...next day its water and refill it up from the ice machine at the shop 👍

  • @RobertoHernandez-xf9et
    @RobertoHernandez-xf9et 6 лет назад +3

    Need to fill the cooler to the max and don't open it until 5 days. That's the maximum expected. I don't think any cooler advertise you can use as little ice as posible, open it and leave it open anytime you want and still delivers 5 days advertise results. 2nd cooler is bigger and was using less cubic space of ice than the Dewalt's (same ice needed to cool more area). I believe if both are filled to the max and let it be for 5 days, both should have ice by the 5th day. Not maybe in the same density but remember, the cubes are needed to cool the "room" temperature inside the cooler and keep it cold, the isolation prevents the heat transfer to the inside.....well the cold transfer to the outside scientifically speaking. Never the leas, good Dewalt's cooler ice test and review. THX.

    Not an apples to apples comparison. The DeWalt has much less capacity than the Rubbermaid, so there will be less air to keep cool in the DeWalt. Plus, simply the lack of capacity and huge price difference makes the DeWalt of no sense at all. IMHO
