Hey so, some of you may have seen my old “We Live In A Society” video that I put up in early 2018, and may be wondering why I took it down. Basically, I didn't like the old video because it was missing some information, and with the interest it was getting from the new Joker movie, I didn't feel as if it represented lessons in meme culture to the best extent. So I made a new, updated and better video about the meme.

Probably one distinction you need to make is that the trademark phrase “we live in a society” was really just a shortening of all the “we live in a society where [that] is ok but [this] is not” low effort shitposts.
I always thought that the "we live in a society" meme originates from this.

I live in El Paso, the Walmart shooting was probably the worst thing to ever happen. I was at a camping trip during the weekend luckily. Unfortunately I lost someone but hearing trump talk about it being caused by video games was... terrible.

Love the (relatively) longer form videos that go a bit deeper that the usual 2:00-3:30, I understand that they take longer to research and create, as well as many of the memes you cover not having that much depth to them, making a longer video hard to do. The killing joke is one of my favorite villain analysis cause the idea that "one bad day can make you just like me [the joker]" is true! But he fails not because the idea is flawed, but because he's missing context. One bad day is the tipping point of an avalanche of several bad days held back. This shows that the society he claims to be so above, the society he claims to hate so much, the society he claims to have broken free from, still effects him to this day, even after it already took everything from him. He hates society, and yet he gave in to the lies society gave him that a villian exists as an outlier of a single happenstance. The joker doesn't even understand himself. And that's why I love it so much.
