The BEST part of City of Love comes after the song, where Phineas says the same line twice. "A girl, a boy, alone in the city of love. I thought romance was a foregone conclusion." Because Isabella and Phineas were alone in the city of love. Isabella's head also explodes, but the scene is just ironic.
I absolutely connect with “Only Trying to Help” (#4). Even if it doesn’t fully fit with their characters, the idea of trying to help with/do something but being turned away because of your gender (race, religion, sexual orientation, etc) is such an important concept and incredibly hurtful. It happened to so many people and the song displays that pretty well (in my opinion).
That's true, I'm glad the writers decided to go for this plotline at the end of the day, as it gives both characters much more depth and sends a very powerful message. Isabella, just like Candace, has never been considered an "outsider" for being a girl, on the show all characters have always been equals so it kinda bothers me how they tried to force this plot into the episode: it's beautiful if you want to share such an important message, but you've got to do it right writing-wise x)
@@Jegcopo it also puts the marvel heros out of character. They wouldn't turn away someone's help because of their gender. It should have been because they were regular civilians.
Wait till you realize Isabella sees Phineas as the absolutely horrifying forward facing Phineas and somehow stayed obsessed with him over 10 years straight and still loves him and wanted that affection right back
I honestly think "I really dont hate christmas" is emotional in a specific way we know Doof as a REALLY depressing guy, his life fucking SUCKED as a kid, and he found respect (to an extent) in the evil-scientist community .... but the season of joy, the season of happiness....he cant find a reason to hate it.... that's just ironically tragic, the one time of the year he WANTS to hate, he CANT
To be honest with you all the Phineas and Ferb songs never hurt my feelings no matter how happy or sad the songs are and never changes my emotions the songs just weirdly keep me the same I am
The "I Walk Away" song will never not get me. I saw a meme once that said "Everyone always asks where is perry, not how is perry" and omg ye. the poor guy i feel for him.
"Only trying to help" and "where did we go wrong" are my favorites, in my opinion can be apply in most parts of life, you just try help people and do your best but ended up doing the right thing in the wrong way.
I completely agree with you on this list, but i would put city of love at 2 and what might have been at 1,act your age makes me cry every time, its just such a good and sad episode and if you grew up with the show, like i did then this episode hits much harder for those people
Understandable, I probably prefer City of Love because it's more of a "classic" compared to What Might Have Been. Also because we know that by the end of "Act Your Age" the two end up together, so Isabella gets a reward; while at the end of "Summer Belongs To You" she doesn't get anything out of the whole Paris matter and simply learns to live with her unsatisfaction. However, yeah, lyrics-wise What Might Have Been is much better.
The song "Ducky Momo is my friend" is probably the most emotional and relatable song for me because Candace liking Ducky Momo is like me liking Bluey. Yes I am an 18 year old college girl that enjoys watching a preschool show about a blue dog, what can I say? Bluey is adorable and its my comfort show whenever I come home from a rough day and the show reminds me of my childhood like the games Bluey and Bingo play together with thier parents and I can relate to the show's emotional moments. I enjoy it so much that I have a couple of Bluey plushies 💙💙💙
I think “I found a brand new best friend” should be on here because Doof found a new friend and it’s himself and yet 2 dimension Doof still betrays Doof in the end. Imagine how lonely Doof must be that he can’t find a real best friend not even himself 😢
"Fish out of water", the time that Cadence nearly changed her name to Larry(Come back Perry) and "when we didn't get along" deserved a spot more than little brothers and walk away. "When we didn't get along" is probably the saddest one and I expected it to be in the top spot. It is just too depressing as it starts with "Without your schemes my life, it seems, is empty" and ends with Perry removing his hat while the song was talking about Doctor D giving his life a heroic cause. Though I am a little bit biased as the Greek version, the one I first hear it in, is even worse, it starts with "Without you, I feel I am dying", it includes lyrics like "I miss you and I can no longer live", "But if you search deep inside you and hear the heart, it will say with a sweet voice that we were incredible enemies" and it ends with "you are fighting someone else, stronger and better, how I miss our old times" while Perry looks depressed as hell... .
Maybe I might be biased as well, because in the Italian version the lyrics are not that heartfelt compared to the English or the Greek version x) But thanks for sharing this, it's cool how different dubs can have such a different impact thanks to the translation and adaptation of the lyrics. The Italian dub usually does a good job in the lyrics writing department, but I didn't love the translation this time
@@Jegcopo Thanks for the reply! Yeah, the different adaptations and translations play a big role. After watching this video, I went and watch a few others in their Greek dubs and sometimes we overdid it in sentimentality... In little brothers every "You will always be my little brothers" was replaced with "I will always love you" and the weird Stacy dictionary was replaced with "My little dear siblings, my sweet boys" (as good of a translation as I could do) In only trying to help, we have lyrics like "they are darkening my life!" by Candace. In big honking hole in my heart, on the other hand, it is bad translated from English or saying the same thing twice with different words until. The only good part in the Greek version is Buford saying "Who is going to bring back happiness in my cruel and empty heart?" Meanwhile, chains on me has lyrics like "why do you need life?" and "Dreams in life are for idiots" Hearing them nowadays makes me wonder if the Greek translators wanted to get depressed kids with songs like that lol.
@@WERTYUIO821 I actually like how sentimental these lyrics are, considering how Phineas and Ferb rarely goes for touchy-feely stories or songs. More healtfelt lyrics might actually make the show turn out less "childish" than it is. I do love it, but I just don't love when it gets too wacky x) Thanks for sharing these translations, it's so interesting to compare dubs and find out what direction each dubbing studio takes. It's such a shame most season 2 songs weren't dubbed in Greek, because it seems like they've been doing a great job with the translations (and with the singing too). I would have loved to hear "Me myself and I" or "You're going down" in the Greek dub - unfortunately some dreams can never come true xD
The reason Isabella was disappointed and sad in the only trying to help song was because she was getting underrated by the the team and friend group. they also wouldn’t let her help out much and they only saw her as a little girl.
10:05-11:20 This song gave me a heavy heart because every time I listened to it, It got me thinking about how I could change some of my past decisions from my 7th-12th grade years and it starts filling me with more and more regret because they’re never going to happen😔😔😔😔
these would be my top three favorite songs even if they are emotionaland those three songs are Mom it's your birthday the one that said Candice sing on there mom's birthday what might have beensongs if I had to choose favorite songs
The song about Phineas and Isabella first it’s like sad but then after I realize how stupid they are can’t realize it. Isabella should’ve Have tell them!
I have a different interpretation of “cause you’re younger, we’re related, and you’re boys” from Little Brothers. At first, I thought of it as an out of place joke, but when I really thought about it, I realized that it shows Candace is struggling with herself to piece together why she misses Phineas and Ferb so much. It’s not just pointless filler. It explains that Candace can only conclude that she loves her brothers simply because they’re her brothers, even if they didn’t get along well. It’s a heartwarming lyric that shows the power of family bonding.
Why are some of the saddest songs from the show are Isabella and Phineas songs? Like City Of Love and What Might have been that were the 1st and 2nd most emotional songs.
I think in the city of love ❤was the emotional song because all Isabella wanted was for Phineas to connect with her and maybe he will finally notice Isabella's true feelings for him
I'm currently reuploading all of my old videos on my second channel (ruclips.net/channel/UCwTs7fMIuHdk5YE1jJxBQsQ) The What'cha Doin Compilation is going to get reuploaded very soon
I don't know if that's doable, as there are too many episodes (almost all of them) with Candace trying to bust the boys. I might give it a try, but I'm not sure it's doable
For me id say What might have been because when i was in 2nd grade i had a big, massive crush on my friend Dominic but as we grew older he never felt the same way i did then after 8th grade i eventually gave up it was hard to let go but what choice did i have either have a crush and let my crush not love me or give it up let him be him? so i let him be him and choose his love now here we are 9 to 10 years later
i disagree about your take on little brother's lyrics. i feel like the mundane explanation of what a little brother is adds levity to the moment, and stops it from being too sappy. it adds an element of comedy that this genuinley emotional scene is contrasted with agressively mundane lyrics. idk thats just my take though, maybe it wasn't intentional, but i still think its funny.
My favorite character is Candace, even though she is always trying to bust the boys. I feel a 'bond' with here, cause like me, she is kinda unlucky. And she just makes me laugh the most!
"Fish Out of Water" sounds so good to me but only in a few languages (specifically french, chinese and 1/2 other that I forgot). The other versions, including the english one, are kinda odd or even sometimes butchered.
I'm being for real, I"'m only trying to help" Idk if that's a really a sad song or not but it probably is. Probably will be at least in the 10-5 category.
My top 3opinions on sadesst P and F songs are when we didn’t get along and what might have been and only trying to help I totally feel for that song no matter how hard you try to please someone or help someone do something but you feel it’s not enough and on when we didn’t get along I felt really bad for Perry he feels abandoned and felt like he had a really good friendship with dr Doof when he wasn’t tormenting him what might have been I had a similar thing I had a huge crush in high school on a boy named Taveon we were friends but I hoped one day he would ask me to be his girlfriend but unfortunately we were polar opposites I was a introverted geek and he was the popular jock I never asked him if he had a girlfriend already cause if he said yes I felt like my heart couldn’t take it and feel jealous unfortunately I never got Taveon to be my boyfriend but I have hope that I will get me a boy who will treat me like I am the greatest good he is ever going to get
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who loves that song! And I agree, it should have focused a bit more on Candace's pov, it would have been much more impactful that way, rather than just showing all the lemonade stands
My top 3: 1. When We Didn't Get Along 2. Only Trying To Help 3. What Might Have Been I can't say I agree with your opinion on In The City of Love. I like the song, it's really pretty and a little sad indeed, but at the same time I can't really empathize with Isabella more than Phineas. Um, girl, you guys are like 8-10 years old, give him more time! I had my first crushes at that age too, but I didn't really expect much of them. Besides, you know he needs to fix that plane, can't blame him for staying focused on the task. No, the most emotional Phinabella song is What Might Have Been. Also, let me just say I really like how even the emotional songs in Phineas and Ferb always have something funny about them, even if it's just a few lyrics, with very few exceptions. And one more thing I wanted to mention is, there are songs that are emotional in a happy way, not sad (which coincidentally happen to be my favorite songs out of the franchise), like "Summer Belongs to You" and "Us Against the Universe".
In my opinion the sadness of the songs listed here are a bit corny but emotional :| I also don't know how Phineas remembers that Isabella kissed him? I (for some reason ) feel like Vincent Martella did not voice phineas in What might have been even though he did XD
If in the episode “Fly On The Wall” Phineas still remembers about the song “Summer, where do we begin?”, then there’s a good chance he still remembers about the kiss as well (as hinted in “Time Spent Together”). If that’s the case, then I believe it all has to do with the fact that Phineas’, Isabella’s and everyone else’s memories got erased using one of Doof’s Inators, which are known for malfunctioning (like the Look-Away-Inator or the Do-Over-Inator). So, perhaps, the Inator’s effect could have been temporary, or maybe it didn’t work properly and didn’t fully erase everyone’s memory
@Satya Namuduri This is very theoretical and tinfoil-hatty, but: if that was the case and Phineas remembered Perry's secret identity, then he would just keep this knowledge for himself, as he would also remember OWCA would relocate Perry in case his cover got blown. But yeah, this idea would have a few holes, like the fact that Stacy got caught off guard when she found out Perry's secret in "Happy Birthday, Isabella!", meaning she didn't remember the events of the second dimension movie. So the Inator did work in her case. We could justify this saying that the Inator only affected some people (like Stacy), and not Phineas, but this would be pretty convoluted and based on speculation only, so I'll stop xD

My top 3opinions on sadesst P and F songs are when we didn’t get along and what might have been and only trying to help I totally feel for that song no matter how hard you try to please someone or help someone do something but you feel it’s not enough and on when we didn’t get along I felt really bad for Perry he feels abandoned and felt like he had a really good friendship with dr Doof when he wasn’t tormenting him what might have been I had a similar thing I had a huge crush in high school on a boy named Taveon we were friends but I hoped one day he would ask me to be his girlfriend but unfortunately we were polar opposites I was a introverted geek and he was the popular jock I never asked him if he had a girlfriend already cause if he said yes I felt like my heart couldn’t take it and feel jealous unfortunately I never got Taveon to be my boyfriend but I have hope that I will get me a boy who will treat me like I am the greatest good he is ever going to get
6:21 I love this song 🥲 but I hate how they kept showing Phineas and Ferb’s activity when they should of been focusing more on sad Candace
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who loves that song! And I agree, it should have focused a bit more on Candace's pov, it would have been much more impactful that way, rather than just showing all the lemonade stands
My top 3:
1. When We Didn't Get Along
2. Only Trying To Help
3. What Might Have Been
I can't say I agree with your opinion on In The City of Love.
In my opinion the sadness of the songs listed here are a bit corny but emotional :|
I also don't know how Phineas remembers that Isabella kissed him?
Ok makes sense, but then they would know perry is agent p
Something is telling me that Doof should created a Restored-Memory Inator.
@Satya Namuduri This is very theoretical and tinfoil-hatty, but:
if that was the case and Phineas remembered Perry's secret identity, then he would just keep this knowledge for himself, as he would also remember OWCA would relocate Perry in case his cover got blown.
@@Jegcopo makes a lot of sense
