Ireland is a land where history intertwines with the present. Where stone age tombs overlook medieval monasteries. Where fairy forts lie beside pubs. Where heroin addicts shoot up beside ancient settlements.
In the small village of Ardmore, lies the first ever Christian settlement in Ireland. Years before Saint Patrick rocked up with this shamrocks, there was another lad preaching dat gospel shizzle. Let’s get to the bottom of the forgotten figure who brought Christianity to Ireland - Saint Declan.
We’ll take a dreamy stroll around the cliffs and an ancient pilgrims trail and uncover the real patron saint of the Island of Saints and Scholars.
