I have no idea what my mother's reasoning was...when she finally caught me (because I got complacent and forgot to hide my legs) she asked, "Have you been shaving your legs?" I nodded, and literally nothing else was said about it. 😄
@Christopher Bingham I do agree that there was an element of not wanting me to grow up too fast and getting unwanted attention from maybe boys. I cant say I buy the "Find out who your real friends are" explanation. My friends, beyond constantly asking about my legs and inquiring why I wasn't allowed, never really treated me bad. People who WEREN'T my friends however were relentless, and to someone who at the time 12/13, that got mentally and emotionally exhausting. Not wanting me to cut myself shaving could have been solved by training me how to shave. At my age now it's not a big deal, but to a teen it was incredibly frustrating!
@Christopher Bingham Your going to cut your legs when you shave regardless there are ways to prevent this though. Instead of scolding and protecting Missy, Mary should have talked to her how to shave her legs. In the end of the day Missy shaving her legs should be Missy’s choice not her Mom’s. There is a huge difference between protective and overbearing.
I remember when my mom finally let me wear shorts & shave but only up to my knees 🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 but honestly thankfully no one ever made of my hairy legs! 🤷♀️ Thank God
I can empathize with Missy. Middle school I was in a school uniform that required the girls to wear skirts. One day I had a HUGE cut on my leg and it bleed for a few days. I had been in a hurry shaving my legs that morning getting ready for school. Needless to say I wore pants the rest of the school year under my uniform. The school principal even asked me why I wore pants under my skirt in 80 degree weather. How could I tell him I had this huge scab with leg hair all over it!

What I don’t understand is how was her leg hair not an issue in the white flower print skirt, but magically became one with the like 4 inch shorter skirt?
The skirt makes your legs look much more prominent. Also when you wear like this in school people will notice you, more often (especially among fellow girls) in a critical way.
I remember the first time I shaved. I did the same since it was all peer pressure. I used to wear skirts but the girls in my 5th grade class said that my legs were hairy. The only thing is that I used my Dad's razor instead since I couldn't find my mom's.
Yeah, I relate to all of this oh-so-much. The challenge is a) I had no grandma nearby. b) I was on the swim team, with equally little care paid to 'education,' and c) my parents watched the laundry room and such like a hawk, so the issue was how to clean any sneaked clothing. Not to mention my mom loved volunteering at the school...
Honestly, it’s sad how girls are shamed for just being hairy. Like, isn’t everyone? Having hair is just natural. 🤨 I don’t see boys making comments to eachother about how hairy they are in a negative way. HOWEVER, I’m not a boy and I have no brothers so I don’t know anything about that. Men and boys, feel free to tell me about your experiences with body hair. ❤ I may be wrong, and there are many things wrong with our society when it comes to women and men, but in terms of body hair, seeing as how men are still hairy, there’s no societal pressure for them to shave. Again, please feel free to tell me your experiences. It’s really sad that people don’t teach kids to respect others and have more body positive imagery. 💔 That’s how these kids become more insecure when they become teenagers. 😢 If you’re a person that bullies a girl for being hairy, regardless of your gender/sex, you’re a misogynistic bitch. I’m sorry for the harsh language, it’s just that I feel strongly about this subject because my parents harass me to shave (my armpits) every time summer comes around. 😞 This started around 15 years old. I tell them to fuck off (kindly, because I still love my parents) and that it’s my body and that I don’t care if it looks “ugly” because, frankly, even if it does or doesn’t, I’m too lazy to change my appearance just for stupid “social acceptance”. Like my body hair is gonna stop me from having a life, pfff. People will like me for who I am, not what I look like or how I present myself. If not, it’s their loss, not mine. Otherwise, what the hell are you teaching kids?? If someone judges me for being hairy, that tells me they’re an ignorant person and I want nothing to do with those. My parents are just brainwashed because every fucking time they see a nude woman, she’s always shaven from head to toe, and every movie scene and every magazine it’s like that too. So, of course they think that hairy women aren’t pretty, because that is what they were taught. 😞 Frankly, I never cared about having body hair until they started harassing me. And even though I never cared for their comments, I do feel a twinge of insecurity (though, I don’t take action on it) whenever I run out of my favourite t-shirts and then have to wear the short sleeved t-shirts. I like wearing shirts too, but I really like t-shirts. It’s really sad and I’m hoping to go back to being blissful. ❤️🩹 To be honest, I don’t think my parents realize how hurtful it is. And it’s just really annoying above all. Why do I put up with this but my dad doesn’t? My younger sister judges me too, but I don’t care about what she has to say either. I’m never ever shaving my legs. And I definitely don’t plan on having a razor come close to my groin either. 🙅♀️ As for my armpits, now that I’m a little older, I tell them that it’s none of their business what I do and don’t do with my body. I don’t shave and I sure as hell don’t want to. All and all, for those who do shave, I have nothing wrong with that at all. I think shaving is fine if that’s what you want for yourself. I’m supportive of that. ❤ My problem is with the people who tell others to do it. 😒 Please do feel free to share your experiences with body hair as well, regardless of if you shave or don’t. 🫶
Compared to some of the short skirts today, that is a long skirt and would be fine in the schools. She does look good in the outfit but i do feel for her age that she did need tights on only because of the size of the skirt.
I was not expecting it to go this route. While I like this, I think I would have preferred a story line where the school made her change, hear me out, and when Mary finds out about it she comes to he daughter’s defense. Because at the end of the day she does love her, even if she doesn’t agree with or understand Missy.
It's not like she's wearing booty shorts! Then again, my Catholic school was incredibly strict when it came to clothes. All our jumpers AND skirts had to specifically be two inches below the knee. We also couldn't wear bright, colorful shoes. No pretty jackets either. No ankle socks. Not even hairties on our wrists- they either had to be in our hair or in our bags. No heavy makeup, and boys couldn't grow their hair past their ears! Hell, we even had to tuck in our shirts during gym! The religious' standards are not only high, they're strict and overbearing. If you don't cut kids some slack (I for one thought Missy's new skirt should've been perfectly acceptable; it's not too see-through OR too high), then they're almost guaranteed to go to extremes.
Ironically she was also the “bad kid” in her younger years. Her desperation to stop her children from following in her footsteps is only pushing them harder towards it - especially because she refuses to come clean about who she used to be and pretends that she was ALWAYS a saint.
Missy gave them too much importance than they deserve in High school; she should have confidently told them "I'm what I'm so hit the road ladies"; nice meemaw grandma who understands her pain - sjsrana

That's the kind of grandmother that I am, and I'm even called MeMaw. I remember what it's like to be young and granted, I don't believe in following the crowd, and I honestly never did, so that's why my high school put in a dress code and I went against it and I told the vice principal that when she could afford to buy my clothes and her name was on my birth certificate, then I'd follow their stupid dress code, but until then they could shove it. They called my Momma in, and she told them the same thing and reminded them that I was in honors classes and I had an A to A+ average, but if my grades slipped, I already knew that my parents would make me dress real conservative and do my hair and makeup conservative too. It's okay as long as it's not harmful to follow the crowd a little, so if my granddaughters want a certain item of clothing and it passes my approval, I'll get it for them and tell them that they can wear it when they're with me or change when they get to school. By my approval, I mean that I've seen clothes for young girls that even I, dancers and prostitutes would be too embarrassed to wear and I wore just about anything. The mini skirt that she had on was very acceptable, and I know that this is a show. I used to wear my mini skirts way shorter than that. You sometimes have to pick your wars with your children and which hill you're going to die on too.

Missy has grown so much!!!!!
honestly the skirt her mom chose for her is cool as well, plus I find her more attractive with it...
No, it wasn't. It looked like she was wearing her Mother's clothes.
@@rachelace6102 Which is great. Her mother dressed appropriately.
Missy is growing up so fast 💨
I feel safe that Mary rolled up her skirts at that age too. George isn't the kind to marry for intellect.
Girls really are this mean to each other. I have two daughters, six years apart. 'Nuff said?
Love MeeMaw and Georgie!
I remember when my mom finally let me wear shorts & shave but only up to my knees 🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 but honestly thankfully no one ever made of my hairy legs! 🤷♀️ Thank God
This should be a bonding moment and chance to let your kid grow and build an actual RELATIONSHIP
I need a grandma like MeeMaw
3:31 oh god yt has edits at the end too 😢
3:00 i can't stop looking at that weird thing shes doing with her mouth when she says razor 😭
The kids growing up so fast in the show!
3:20 I’ve had practice on Sheldon… he’s a fragile boy
LOL FR
I can empathize with Missy. Middle school I was in a school uniform that required the girls to wear skirts. One day I had a HUGE cut on my leg and it bleed for a few days. I had been in a hurry shaving my legs that morning getting ready for school. Needless to say I wore pants the rest of the school year under my uniform. The school principal even asked me why I wore pants under my skirt in 80 degree weather. How could I tell him I had this huge scab with leg hair all over it!
Poor Missy...
Well I don't understand this. Mary is very critical about the length of the skirt but she herself wears short dresses in big bang theory. 😅
I'm guessing it's because of her age, like she thinks Missy's too young to wear skirts that length.
@@Ailumer Fair point. But Mary is too much to handle most of the times. She behaves this way with Missy and Georgie. And let's Sheldon get away with everything.
Yeah I found that a bit odd too...
@@rev_rock4616 she didn't let Sheldon get away with everything :/ what are you talking about
@@Gamingworld-xf6mi oh common, she is complaining about the prices but she got him a computer, she was never there for Missy or Georgie, she never understood what Missy was going through but made her apologize to Sheldon. Being smart doesn't mean you get to be treated better than your siblings.
What I don’t understand is how was her leg hair not an issue in the white flower print skirt, but magically became one with the like 4 inch shorter skirt?
Female logic.
Because no one looks at the flower skirt, it doesn't jump out to you to look at her skirt or her legs
What I found odder is that we could see her legs and could see no leg hair.
She looks conservative in her floral skirt and no one pays attention to that. When you look in with the crowd people notice other things.
The skirt makes your legs look much more prominent. Also when you wear like this in school people will notice you, more often (especially among fellow girls) in a critical way.
Missy's hilarious!
I remember the first time I shaved. I did the same since it was all peer pressure. I used to wear skirts but the girls in my 5th grade class said that my legs were hairy. The only thing is that I used my Dad's razor instead since I couldn't find my mom's.
bruh i thought something way worse happened i was about to cry 😭😭
Missy's 1st outfit looks so cool though. 😅
I agree, very cottagecore 😅
I'm so glad Pondy turned it around he's the coolest
Best advice EVER from MeeMaw, "You can't let them win."
Always nice to see girls being supportive of other girls.
they should start making floor to ceiling mirrors in girl bathrooms again 😭
I think Georgie grows up to be Matthew McConaughey.
fighting like serbs and sroats in bosnia lmaooo
Kids grow up so fast 😰
Sheldon didn't grow that much yet so you have time before he becomes a young man :)
But I agree about Missy 😍
@@heresmyunnamedchannel sheldon's voice is grown tho! I was really suprised but then again I wasnt able to see the last season.
@@drdre2641 yes of course, his voice is changing little by little but it's not done
@@drdre2641 but on the other hand, Missy is done with her puberty, growth spurt…
I always had a crush on missy but seeing her cry I just want to hug her
Yeah, I relate to all of this oh-so-much. The challenge is a) I had no grandma nearby. b) I was on the swim team, with equally little care paid to 'education,' and c) my parents watched the laundry room and such like a hawk, so the issue was how to clean any sneaked clothing. Not to mention my mom loved volunteering at the school...
I shaved my legs and I only used water and I'm a boy my legs had spots on after 😂
Been there, honey. My mother didn't need to shave, so I didn't need to either. That's what happens when your morher doesn't want to help you grow up.
Honestly, it’s sad how girls are shamed for just being hairy. Like, isn’t everyone? Having hair is just natural. 🤨
I don’t see boys making comments to eachother about how hairy they are in a negative way. HOWEVER, I’m not a boy and I have no brothers so I don’t know anything about that. Men and boys, feel free to tell me about your experiences with body hair. ❤
I may be wrong, and there are many things wrong with our society when it comes to women and men, but in terms of body hair, seeing as how men are still hairy, there’s no societal pressure for them to shave. Again, please feel free to tell me your experiences.
It’s really sad that people don’t teach kids to respect others and have more body positive imagery. 💔
That’s how these kids become more insecure when they become teenagers. 😢
If you’re a person that bullies a girl for being hairy, regardless of your gender/sex, you’re a misogynistic bitch.
I’m sorry for the harsh language, it’s just that I feel strongly about this subject because my parents harass me to shave (my armpits) every time summer comes around. 😞
This started around 15 years old.
Frankly, I never cared about having body hair until they started harassing me. ❤️🩹
To be honest, I don’t think my parents realize how hurtful it is. And it’s just really annoying above all. Why do I put up with this but my dad doesn’t? My younger sister judges me too, but I don’t care about what she has to say either.
I’m never ever shaving my legs. And I definitely don’t plan on having a razor come close to my groin either. 🙅♀️
As for my armpits, now that I’m a little older, I tell them that it’s none of their business what I do and don’t do with my body.
I don’t shave and I sure as hell don’t want to.
All and all, for those who do shave, I have nothing wrong with that at all. I think shaving is fine if that’s what you want for yourself. I’m supportive of that. ❤
My problem is with the people who tell others to do it. 😒
Please do feel free to share your experiences with body hair as well, regardless of if you shave or don’t. 🫶
Love this comment❤
@@BlueberryCloudz-j7d Aww, thank you. That actually warms my heart! 🥰🥰
Because at the end of the day she does love her, even if she doesn’t agree with or understand Missy.
meemaw is really cool
Missy is soooo cute😊😊😊🤗🤗🤗♥️♥️♥️
“Did somebody die?” “No” “then we can fix it” im rolling
Did they ban creativity?
Mary lives an uptight lifestyle, thinking only her way is perfect rather than being open-minded. Parents like that are why kids rebel
Ironically she was also the “bad kid” in her younger years.
Her desperation to stop her children from following in her footsteps is only pushing them harder towards it - especially because she refuses to come clean about who she used to be and pretends that she was ALWAYS a saint.
Mary needs to lighten up !
Middle school girls are the cruelest
2:10 but it is at an appropriate length.
That is real long in my opinion lol
Mary always thinks it's the 1950's
There growing up fast it's weird to look at the first 3 seasons then look at season 5
Missy gave them too much importance than they deserve in High school; she should have confidently told them "I'm what I'm so hit the road ladies"; nice meemaw grandma who understands her pain - sjsrana
If she doesnt respect her mother ,she as well hit the streets and live there.Damn american's lack of morality and disrespect towards parents still astounds me.
Are you crazy !??? In teenage , public opinion is a what matters . She is a teen not 30 that she will flaunt hairy legs / hairy arms …. 😝 I am 30 , I know now 😉
@@shaikhussain7613 her mother wasn't allowing her to dress how she wanted that's why she went against it, keep your conservative ideas away from the children and their wishes you oldie
You are dumb. She not in high school. She in middle school. And physical appearance is important at that age for many girls.
@@shaikhussain7613 Respect is earned, not an entitlement. Don't respect your kids you won't get any real respect in return. You are an idiot. You also don't get to assume what is moral and not.
A bodybuilder buddy of mine in college did his first show and had to shave for the first time. Apparently women know just how sensitive the back of the knee is, but guys don’t. Along with the back of his knees and both his legs, he honestly looked like someone had locked him and just his legs in a cage with a Ferrell cat
Missy stay your course, with Meemaws guidance you will be glad you did. 👍
Holy they have grown so much
1:13 Preppy!?
No

Breaks my heart to see her cry 😢
Meemaw rocks!
MeeMaw is being sooo kind and btw are you the real missy cooper
I love meemaw! 🤣😅❤️❤️
Sheldon's mother in this series is just my next door neighbor when I first moved to Texas. She when to Church 4 times a week and twice on Sunday. She had 2 sons and no matter how much they "just wanted to be normal"
Sorry, I hit the send. His first girlfriend and he had sex on their first date. And, lots of times after. When he went off to college his mother told me she hoped "no girl got herself pregnant". Pointing out that can't happen didn't work. In other just like the mother in Young Sheldon both my neighbor and Mary are & judgemental fights/fought with the school. The show brings back both funny and tragic memories of my old house. Lucky I have no neighbors that judge people by how and who they are. Peace reigns here. One last thing: she had a dog killed in her front yard because he did what dogs do. Then complained that there was a dead dog in her yard. We really would live boring lives if we didn't have a few crazies mixed in.
And thats on strict parents, her kids don’t go to her on those situations they go to the grandma
she grow fast l like her when she's kid
She grew up fast
@@sweetspicy92 oohh yeah ! She had a kind of strange and fast puberty 😮😄

I honestly think missy could easily beat up anyone who bullies her, she has the potential and she even beat up a guy at baseball, but the problem is there can be too many ppl opposing her which is not easy for her to handle
@Christopher Bingham yaya ik, it would be cool if she beat up another girl, when she beat up that baseball guy its either she is pretty strong or that guy is damn weak!, they should actually film a scene of her beating someone up
@Christopher Bingham i get u i get u i do believe missy is kinda strong, they should really make a scene of her beating a girl up u know how epic that would be
@Christopher Bingham an example of that is when Paige punched sheldon that was an unexpected scene! Paige could be as strong as missy
@Christopher Bingham well I mean in that episode where she Sheldon and missy go to the mall she looks like a bad strong girl somehow lol, but it would have been cool if Sheldon actually tried fighting back to her a boy vs girl fight in the show would be cool
@Christopher Bingham for me that depends id prolly support both of them lol unless its sheldon
