I love this video for so many reasons but mainly because you were literally a professional traveler yet found traveling with a baby very intimidating. So many online people make it seem like the easiest thing and why wouldn’t you want to travel the world with a baby?! Thank you for being real.

@@caycef1706 Eh. The plus side with toddlers is that you can start to explain things to them. You can encourage them to suck on a pacifier and to swallow. You can tell them that their ears are only going to hurt for a short time. There are certainly charms to having a child that isn't yet fully mobile but every age has its pluses and minuses. Mine has gotten too tall for the regular airplane seat but he's good at stowing luggage in the overhead bin. Now we all want to sit in the aisle seat. He's 237 months old...and six feet tall! 😉

Adorable baby! I am a mother of 3 boys and former frequent international flight traveler. I had so many selections of long flight survival kits😅 Always wished there's family friendly seat sections.

I heard there is an airline that is going to have families vs adults-only sections! People were excited, but I said that’s going to be a LOT of adults who paid more for a ticket, and now feel entitled to take their shoes off and put their stinky feet on your armrests! 😂

I notice most strollers have no suspension. My niece's loved rough, bumpy travelways because I would play games with them. They loved it.

The doggy bags are great to put soiled or wet clothes in as well. You can put it in the bag and tie it up and not have to worry about the rest of your stuff getting dirty! Also great for trash when there's no trash cans around. I hate leaving trash on the plane. My kids are grown (my youngest is 8) but I still take doggy bags when I travel! One of the best ideas my friend told me about when I had my first.

FYI a ring sling is great as a lightweight baby carrier that doesn’t get hot and great for holding sleeping baby while you’re seated on the plane!

My husband recently traveled with our 20 month old grandson. The umbrella stroller fit in overhead bin. He did not check a bag, so he boarded early to make sure he could use overhead bin. He downloaded videos ahead of time to play on phone for baby to watch. It went well!

I think the coin purse thing could also be really helpful for holding pacifiers, chapstick, anything small that you want to be able to reach quickly!

We just did a flight with our 5 month old! We are nursing only and used our hip carrier to prop up our baby while he was nursing! They are awesome. We didn't have a travel stroller, but we gate checked ours with the car seat. It was really nice to have it to carry our bags walking through the airport (we had 2 different 3 hour layovers).

You dont need a changing pad in a diaper bag, if you have a disposable puppy pad with you anyways.
You don't need a "diaper bag" at all, just use any big bag or bag pack that you already own as a diaper bag for this short time.
Wow! When I was a baby all my Mom had was cloth diapers, clothes, baby bottles. . . .how times have changed in 72 yrs!

I'm so surprised how different our baby gear preferences are!! I REQUIRE my diaper bag to have a backpack option.
Have you seen the diaper changing clutches? Super handy it bundles your changing pad, wipes, and a few diapers all in one so you if say you're at a restaurant and need to do a diaper change you can leave the whole bag at the table and just take the clutch! Same thing on the plane. No space in those lavs so it's handy to not have to bring the whole bag in.
My baby loves to have blowouts on flights so for his second plane trip I got some cloth diaper covers I put on over his disposable diaper and it did contain the 💩!!
I'm paranoid about bags getting lost and not being able to find diapers etc for a day or two so I bring enough diapers for two days! 😅

Please do yourself a favor , if you're going to fly: buy "earplsnes" for your baby. It helps them regulate the pressure in their ears and they aren't screaming in horrific pain during take off and landing.

Nari is so cute! I kinda wish she was older than my daughter because maybe I would have felt more comfortable trying to go on a trip earlier with this helpful video! She is 11 months and we just went on a 2 hour flight that overall went pretty well. But some mistakes were made, lessons learned. 😄

I have the Babyzen Yoyo and it is a great travel stroller that fits into the overhead compartment.
Pro tip: travel stroller fit into the footcompartment of the car seat where the babys car seat is installed and there are adapters. No hughe stroller taking up the whole trunk

A pram/stroller that fits in the overhead compartment helps so much - means you can put a car seat into the plane free of charge (usually - check these things!)
And practice using the travel stuff and how the car seat connects! It always confuses us 😂

Great list, I packed almost the same things for my children 13 years ago for our first flight. You suggested children Tylenol, but I think is good to have a necessaire with some medication as children tylenol, ear drops, gas relief medication, thermometer, face and hands baby wipes.
I don't have nor plan to have kids, but i was entertained by this vid ❤

Doggy bags are good for ALL diaper changes, even for at home! It's not very eco-friendly, but if you have a hard time with lingering poo smell, doggy bags might just be your saving grace.
My best friend cloth diapered for a while, but used doggy bags for containing the mess for cloth ones and the occasions where they did use disposable ones, even at home. It worked SO well!
