We've lived in Ipswich since 2002 & never had air conditioning. We're moving from there to the Childers region which on average is cooler than Ipswich. 😉👍
I've ben following you for over 8 years, this is the most excited I've been of your uploads. Don't get me wrong, I like the aquaponics which is what I have and want to do. But this whole project is exciting and close to my own desires. I know the house is important, I'm really looking forward to the dams and livestock. Bianca is such a practical woman (Good with her hands too) and has a good grasp over necessity over function and circumstances. example, who cares that the paint behind the fridge will be pristine. Blessed man.
Thanks JiLoa. I actually feel younger now & more into life than I have for years & am VERY excited to get into a fresh aqua system as well as all the other farming projects we have planned. Cheers & have a fantastic week.
Hey Rob and Bianca.. Thanks for the up date my friends.. Love the sound of the Guinea fowl chirping away in the background.. I'm going to hold you to the catch and cook video 😅😅... Cheers champions catch you on the next..
Thanks Marc. I'm buggered most of the time but still have a grin that runs from ear to ear. 😁 Will have to catch up before we move. Or, do you feel like coming up for a few days after we settle in?
The house is coming up great. I wonder if the goanna was born in the hole and just returning the cycle. The hole looks like an ankle breaker if you accidentally step in it. The peaceful ending👌🍺🍺
Place looking great, in the short time you've been there Yous have painted more of your house than i have painted mine in 25 years and i painted houses for a job. The guinea fowl will probably start roosting on your roof & piping, once the trees gone, so your gunna need a bigger pot, there almost a substitute for your Butcher bird & Maggie mates 😊. Daughter just came in stating there's a mouse on the stove, he's been my nemesis for ever, avoiding everything from live traps to kill traps, a jack russell and two cats, his even turning grey from old age, he looks like the one off the Green mile.
🤣 Have you tried one of the bottle traps Craig? I think we'll be reducing the fowl flock very soon. We have some friends back Ipswich way that would like a few to help polish up the ticks around their place.
Wow you are doing an awesome job. I can’t believe how filthy some people live. I need to get you in here and paint 😂 great job. Make sure you take time out to smell the roses and enjoy that great view. Never seen that with a Goanna before.
🤣 I think my painting days are behind me now it's all done. Oh, except for some touch up work at the old house for the new tenants..... Hope to check out the hole with the endoscope video cam we bought once I find which box I packed it into.
You might get a bargain A/C Unit on the "Black Friday Sales" Nov 24th. Wow! looks even better now from the first viewing. Amazing what a clean & lick of paint can do.🖌😁
Never had one in any of the houses we lived in (that I can recall) Anna, so I think I can live without. B might change her mind later though but fingers crossed the breeze keeps up all summer. Back into painting later today. Would like to have upstairs totally finished by Friday.
@@BitsOutTheBackFarm I'm impressed how fast you are at getting things done👍Our house doesn't have A/C either we rely on mother nature and deep eves on the house to keep it cool in summer/warm in winter.⛅👍
You are definitely making some headway into the work needed up there, it's coming along nicely. I think that blue/grey colour for the paintwork is very good, it's a peaceful colour.
I'm glad we didn't listen to the painter that did the outside of the Ipswich house & toss it. Should have just enough to do the whole place at this rate. Cheers & have a fantastic week.
I've moved over here from the aquaponics channel this week. I was into the aquaponics for a while, but have moved away from it. I love the new property, and I'm looking forward to see what you do with it!
Did you get much rain up there ? Get some heat reflective paint and paint the roof (insultec) . You would be amazed . Bush camping on your own block would be amazing .
I have looked at replacing them but decided to swap over the whole units. More efficient fan light combos are available now as these are all older jobbies.
Good day mate! You can run but you can not hide. 😂 Congratulations on your new & exciting venture. I did a follow on FB as well as Grampy Grimble. Looking forward to new content.
Good boy jack for being helpful in painting lol, Yes the view look great & will look even better when things turn green again, Are you not going to close that monitor lizard.s hole wont it cause you problems later down the line ??? & you have been very busy there how long before you thinking of moving in
We're going to have to see how deep it goes as I have a feeling there may be some issue with the greywater system next to it Gary. The monitors are everywhere here. We've see at least 1 every second day around the tree line when we go for walks. I hope to have the place painted & ready by the end of next week all going well.
Thanks Folks. Enough here to keep us busy for decades. 🤣🤣 Hope your both doing well. Haven't had much time to catch up on videos lately for some reason.... 🤔
I swapped out my fly screens for shade cloth, much better to help with the heat Rob. I've never seen a goanna dig in under a concrete slab, so weird. Haha, you do realise when you cut the tree off the Guinea fowl will probably roost on the pipe itself and the weight will probably bend/break it, stupid birds haha. Thanks for the vid mate. Seeya Rob
🤣 Thought of that & have already looked into making beefed up pigeon spikes to add to it. 😉 Not sure if it'll work. B has plans to catch them all then clip their wings. Not sure how successful she'll be. Cheers mate & have a top week.
Hopefully the recent ceiling paint wasn't to cover-up roof leaks. Fix door stops to bottom of doors (vs skirts) so not in the way for vacuum. A/C maybe a cheap fix, research making yellow plastic white again. If you use corner pedestal fans (vs ceiling), don't have to worry about being scalped (Rob), breaking a finger when stretching, can position wherever (i.e. assist draft in/out of window/door), can put them away during winter, cheaper & easier to replace if issues. Staining (only) the stairs would look nice, less scratch/maint vs varnish/gloss.
No damage moisture on the celling that we could spot. There is no skirting in the office downstairs unfortunately so nothing to connect the stop to but the sliding door rail. Air con needs new compressor + we have never had one so are used to the heat. I'm all good with low fans + I'm already ½ bald. 😅 Cheers Lana & have a top one.
I love to see the progress. I am more excited to see the improvements on your home than on my own, :P BTW, sorry for the ignorance, aren't monitor lizards dangerous?
They can be if you bale them up, it doesn't pay to be the closest tall thing around when that happens.😉 Mostly they just wander on by minding their own business.
We have clips that attach to the back of the doors & skirting that do the same job. Cost $2.50 & takes 30 seconds to install. Needless to say that all the doors have them now. 😉
Hi Rob , coca-cola is great for cleaning toilets, we have even poured 6Litres down and let it do its magic to unblock a small blockage ( to unblock pour in , wait 30 minutes and flush ) it saved us a plumber bill but it was minor problem, so how long does it take to hatch and feed up monitors before cooking size ?
🤣 I think I'll leave the monitors be. 😉 I bought an endoscope video cam to check out the hole. Just need to find it in one of the boxes here & I'll see if there's any eggs down there.
Didn't the owners have it cleaned to minimum standard before /after sale I'm an Exit cleaner on the Sunshine coast (Coolum area) and it would not have looked like that if I'd got to it! ..just saying 😊
My silt traps on the shed had pin hole drippers but they always block up. The newer ones on the house have a tap screwed into the centre of the cap and I've just bought a couple to upgrade the shed. My line from the house to the tank is underground in a U shape with an outlet that I flush once a year. ruclips.net/video/yRtVFtMjW14/видео.html

Nice Rob. I’m sure all that work is therapeutic in the new country setting. 👍
😅 Tell that to my neck & shoulders. I don't mind painting but I should have left the ceilings to B I think.

Haha. I literally just ordered some new rollers for our downstairs screen door a couple of hours ago, before seeing this video.
😅 It's one of those jobs I wasn't going to put off. Used to drive me crazy putting them back on the runners a few times a day as a kid.
@@BitsOutTheBackFarm It's a real pain trying to get the door closed, with your arms full of shopping and the cats trying to get out.
You two did a fab job. Oh, I would freak if that's a snake peeking out of that hole.... Haha! I'm a Cook Islander, we don't have snakes back home :)
Not too worried about snakes here. The Guinea fowl are good at keeping them away + most are harmless if you give them a wide berth.
You do very good job.
Thanks. I try my best.

We did get a small amount while we were gone. B thinks it put about 2000L /520gal into the main tanks from what she could guesstimate.
Usually you should be able to get replacement remote controllers for things

Over coals or on the bbq with the guinea fowl unless you want to use the oven.

It won't be here for long. Great for catching mice but not the best for young guinea fowl or native birds.
