Around 16 minutes, great observation about the pawn mobility! I've been playing chess for some time now, have noticed "locked pawns" several times, blocked pawns several times, certainly center pawns and passed pawns, but not until now did I stop to consider comparing pawn mobility, or how to play to set up favorable situations like that all across the board. Usually, it's the "pawn x pawn, piece trades, etc." kind of thing.
The new UI looks slick and also indicates when we're looking at an alternate line (time's no longer visible), but it's size makes it difficult to see the time as well as the rank and file letters when watching on a phone. To me the ideal style is the one you used in the 2018 championship series, maybe with a symbol appearing on the left side when we're looking at an alternate line. Naturally, this would take more time to produce, so I think this current style is the best one if you're going for minimal editing. Keep up the great work
I really appreciated that it was a slower, strategic style of play which contrasts nicely with Gukesh's sharp, tactical plays that earn him so much time on the clock
Kudos to Ding that he learnt from his "mistake(s)" soon enough by castling his king earlier this time and making the obvious/natural moves without mis-management of his clock management.
Yes. There was a significant difference in the mobility of the queens. I meant to draw a little attention to that. At one point the white queen had 7 options to the black queen’s one. Kind of what happens when playing knight odds against Leela.
it is after such classic "simple chess" games and your excellent analysis when I wonder: how the heck am I not able to play games like this? It is beautiful how Ding played it basically just maintaining good principles (a couple prophylactic moves, building a nice center, rooks in the middle). What a win. I sort of wrote him off after yesterday and yet he bounces back. Great match. (I'm still rooting for Gukesh though, it'd be great to have the youngest ever world champ and he had an amazing year so far, I think he would be a deserving WC) Anyway, thanks for your superb analysis as always!
Best Analysis of the WCC in my opinion. Always looking forward to your videos and I don’t even watch the news on the games before watching your review 🤓 As always, thank you, Jerry!
Oh man, Ding REALLY turning the thumbscrews here! In a must-win game Ding showed some extremely crushing play as White. What a great Worlds this has been. Thank you Jerry for your commentary, this is awesome!
This was the most crushing game so far, Ding outplayed convincingly his opponent.I predict that this will psychologically impact Gukesh and will see a collapse in the remaining games!
I don't think Gukesh will collapse. As White you are the one with tempo who is typically dictating what kind of game is being played. Ding chose a very strategic game, Gukesh seems to prefer something a little sharper. Just a difference of styles, I don't think Gukesh will be rattled that he lost a strategic game as Black.
Great game. Nicely covered. So easy to understand with your analysis. Thank you for that. "Do you know that what you see is made of reflections sent back to your eyes like a ball thrown against a wall". ---Master Po
Jerry great recap. The screen shot at the end indicates the computer gives Ding 97% (!) accuracy with only 1 move inaccurate (while Gukesh has 4 inaccuracies & 1 blunder). Curious, what move was Ding’s inaccuracy?
It must've been Qc2 @ 16:26 That's where his advantage dropped a bit during live coverage. (Or it was a different Qc2 move, TBF he moved his Queen every now and then by just one square)
Black played ultra defensive from start to end, and lost because of that. Gukesh had many chances for a counter-play but each time chickened out ("I don't want to lose"), well you lost!
I actually thought black was better most of the way through put all the experts say opposite I guess I don't understand just very well. I don't know how I got to 2200
People will tell you that it is only a matter of time and that we are on our way to solving chess, but realistically: No. We will probably not solve chess in the foreseeable future. Just look at the tablebases we have now. 7 man tablebase is the best we got and it is 18 TB in size. Compare this to the 6 man tablebase which is about 150 GB in size. Now think about how merciless the exponential function is and realize what a 32 man tablebase would have to look like.
Gukesh proved he is a Telugu Golti Microsoft soft ceo Nadal hero but why he allowed white Knight to invade because of his mistake by pushing his black pawn to h5 just allowed Ding Liren this is a bot video

It's a beautiful game by Ding.
Ding played basically a perfect game... Gukesh didn't play bad, you can't do much when your opponent plays like stockfish
Do you know of the Carlsen quote?
"I'm way too drunk for this." - Magnus Carlsen
Absolutely well said.
"My name is Magnus Carlsen" - Dr. Drunkenstein
Goat Carlsen 👽says hi🤣💥
So far in the championship, this is Ding's best game, putting Gukesh on the defense from the start of the clock
Hey Jerry, glad after all these years you still have he same outro music :)
👍
The Intro beep and Outro music are a balm to my soul
This is positional dominance at its finest , gukesh didn't make any noticeable mistake and still got crushed. It's bad news for him
The tucked away King that makes the play at 20:33 possible was just icing on the prophylactic cake
Nice observation
Hi Jerry this is ME!!! Been looking forward to this video!
I too have been looking forward to it. Cheers to our good buddy Jerry!
Hello ME!!! 😂😂😂
Uugau@@colin351
I'm so glad Ding equalized. What a nailbiting last two games (after snooze fest #10). I can't express how grateful I am for your first class coverage!

Very happy to see Ding at his best. Your coverage Jerry, as always, excellent!
Thanks 👍
i'm new to your channel. I must say your commentary is clear and easy to follow. Great stuff, thanks
Thank you. Glad you find it clear. 👍

Been f5ing youtube for 30 minutes waiting for this! Let's go!
A cultured Dutch defense enjoyer 😎
Thanks as always for the coverage, Jerry.
👍
Finally, Ding played like Ding.. IMHO by far so far the best game in the match.
This one will go down in the records as a positional masterpiece. Absolutely beautiful game
What a game by Ding
Ding Liren is the Champion for a reason, what a comeback!
Yeah, Magnus chose not to defend his title.
@@SoDamnMetal and also matchfixing
@@thedeadbabylol🤡
Qc3 ---> Qc2 ---> Qc3 really beautiful. Somehow when people play like engines in clutch moments it can be more beautiful than tactics even.
Awesome game and awesome coverage!
Like a true world champion Ding strikes back immediately after a loss, that was so inspired.
Best chess channel since many years.
Thanks Jerry. To me, your analysis is so much to the point than other commentators and RUclips channels.
As ever, brilliant analysis with inimitable commentary in that unique ‘It’s Jerry!’ style! Thanks!
As one commentator put it, this is Peak Ding!
I've seen other analysis that pointed out that the black queen had no decent square to go to. Finally at move 35 it left home, far too late.
Yes. There was a significant difference in the mobility of the queens. I meant to draw a little attention to that. At one point the white queen had 7 options to the black queen’s one. Kind of what happens when playing knight odds against Leela.
Thank you so much for your analysis Jerry. Always looking forward to it. Hoping that Ding wins it in the end
I watch many recaps of the same game but Jerry’s is by far the best.
Been waiting for this! Thanks for the analysis
was waiting for this! thanks Jerry
Masterfully played by Ding
Big D pawn, well played Jerry 😎
Nice! Was hoping Ding would hit back with a victory. This was a nice one. Enjoying your commentary Jerry. Good luck to both players
Ding on the ropes comes back swinging and makes it a series again. Lets Go !
The analysis here is so great. Jerry, do you have a website where you analyze past games from various other matches?
No website, but there are playlists of the several WCC matches
Nice interpretation & analysis of the game.
Nice one. Ding was too scared of going forward with white. He definitely has potential with it and it’s showing
Many thanks.
Thanks!!
I'm so happy for Ding! He's such a nice guy, he doesn't deserve gulag (excuse me, reeducation camp). All jokes aside, this was a beautiful comeback.
The comments from Jerry are so great. Is there a website where you (Jerry) analyze other games from the past, etc. I would like to subscribe.

Breaking down dark squares ponds when there's no dark square bishop ✅ TY GM 👍🏻
one of the best games I've seen in any WCC.
Beautiful use of pawns.
A nice retaliation of Ding Liren.
Best Analysis of the WCC in my opinion. Always looking forward to your videos and I don’t even watch the news on the games before watching your review 🤓
As always, thank you, Jerry!
Can’t imagine what it would feel like to play for so many hours then play Rxg7! Nice game!

Wait and see 🙂@@Alskaskan
I honestly had written Ding off after game 11. Happy to see him come out swinging and hoping his mental holds.
Pump up the jam, pump it up!
Ding chilling. Nice game
Phenomenal. Let's go Ding!
Thanks Jerry!
Ding really came back swinging after yesterday's loss!
Ding seems to play best in must-win scenarios.
Yeah, he gives the impression of a super clutch player indeed.
Great game. Nicely covered. So easy to understand with your analysis. Thank you for that.
"Do you know that what you see is made of reflections sent back to your eyes like a ball thrown against a wall". ---Master Po
Great game!!
22:01 The Big D Pawn, hell yeah brother
Ding comeback just like against Nepo 😎
feels like this has been a battle between strategy and tactics
great game by Ding
Good work bud
DING 🔥 🔥
These guys are really duking it out! Love it. In the event of a tie at the end does Gukesh have an Armageddon tiebreak advantage?
Excellent recovery by Ding.
I am an Indian. I am rooting for Ding. Go Ding!!!
Good stuff. I like watching on 2x speed
You're missing out then bud is all I can say. I'm the opposite...I keep rewinding to get a better understanding of Jerry's analysis lol
Ding was mad at himself for flagging the last game
We'll see what happens, because we're subscribed
Cool!
Nice Ding!
Ding is a monster, when he wants
I like how you say nnnnnn for dramatic effect before moving a piece, is that an accent thing where you’re from?
I believe he's from Pennsylvania but might be wrong
I can confirm he is from Philadelphia so TotalStoicism could be right with his specific mentioning of Pennsylvania.

Hi Jerry, it's everyone.
A5 IS BIG DRAWBACK IN MY VIEW
Where did Gukesh go wrong?
Black played ultra defensive from start to end, and lost because of that. Gukesh had many chances for a counter-play but each time chickened out ("I don't want to lose"), well you lost!
sometimes I play a game against Jerry by trying to predict the winner early in the video by listening for tells. no hints are to be found!
HHOLLY SSMOKESS DING!
Hi Jerry
👋
EyeHeartJerryChess
gukesh got suffocated...slowly
Cool rook sacrifice!
Very exciting. Perhaps even more so if Magnus still decided to compete.
First. Thanks Gary, awesome video ❤
See? When Magnus is not playing at least we can doubt who's gonna win 😅😅😅
lot of narratives after yesterday's game looking highly suspicious now
You just cant win against a coffee-energized Ding
I actually thought black was better most of the way through put all the experts say opposite I guess I don't understand just very well. I don't know how I got to 2200
JERRY, competition are out there, you must produce your video way earlier. Most your views are gone to other channels of IM and GM
Never play f6
everything went downhill after p d4. loss of 2 tempos
Clinical by Ding.
Will Chess ever get like tic tac toe where the best players playing the best moves will always draw?
People will tell you that it is only a matter of time and that we are on our way to solving chess, but realistically: No. We will probably not solve chess in the foreseeable future.
