Mono, Explosions in the Sky and UNDER THE PIPE are the best post rock band ever...
it's hard to choose just one, what i suggest to u is... download all the albums, listen to the them, and then buy 'em all.
This is a band you must see live before you die, or you have not lived.

i personally like the reporter at 3:40 better then the 4:01 one. Has less make up and more approachable

I recently discovered Mono and now, I want to buy an album....but I still dont know which one to buy....could anyone please give me any hints and recommandations? Because it's like every single piece of work done by mono sounds so incredibly beautiful.....I'm desperate to choose .__. Help meee, and plz write a message.

@spinningsilence There's a huge variety of music from Japan. It's far from being all commercial J-pop. As you're looking for post-rock try starting with té or toe.
They are a mix of Floyd and Bach great stuff

I love post-rock, but I don't know much from Japan other than Mono. Please someone enlighten me! Is there such a variety or is it all just J-Rock J-Pop as it were?
I like Caspian, Grails, Explosions in the Sky as it were, so anything relative ya know?

They are good live. Very focused and alot of energy. If anything, they are a little too focused and come off completely oblivious to the presence of the audience. I mean, it's great they are giving their performance 100%, but I felt they went a little too far in ignoring the people who paid money to see them, which is bad form. Or maybe I am just a little colicky as of late.
