Finally installed and tested the new Vance and Hines Exhaust for the new 2021 Honda Rebel CMX 500 S! Definitely worth the money! Every Rebel owner should upgrade!

When the CMX debuted just a few years ago, riders everywhere loved the way it combined a fresh, blacked-out look with timeless features like a low seat height, bobber styling and its narrow 471cc parallel-twin engine with an ultimately user-friendly powerband. For 2020, the CMX is still that learner licence-friendly 500cc parallel twin-cylinder compact cruiser you know but we’ve added some impressive upgrades; like an LED lighting package (headlight, taillight, turn signals and more) new instruments, a slipper/assist clutch that lightens clutch pull and some new suspension. We’ve also added a kitted-up variant to the mix, called the CMX500 ‘S Edition.’ It showcases a different and new direction for the CMX range, one that many have been anticipating for quite some time. The CMX S Edition has a set of factory-fitted accessories including; a headlight cowl, all-black fork covers and gaiters, plus a diamond-stitch style seat. Now more than ever, you can really express yourself on a CMX.

I’ve just installed a V&H on my rebel. It’s much louder than you tube videos convey. I’m wondering if you get lots of backfires and pops when you either upshift or decelerate. Lots of rebel owners say this is the case.
comparison without the DB-killer is not realy fair. in most countries you need the DB-Killer for the exhaust to be street legal.

Exactly… if I ever had to go with an aftermarket slip-on exhaust, I would go with the Two Brothers, that one sounds way better than V&H

Does the Vance & Hines pipe interfere with pillion foot pegs? Still good to ride with a passenger?
No problem
Nope doesnt have issues with passenger foot.
The V&H is much better looking than stock but the quality of the sound was a bit disappointing to me. It's a bit to high pitched and starts to scream at high rpm. I do understand it's difficult to get a better sound from a relatively small twin.
Sounded good to me @Geur. The stock was very flat.
It does sound kind of ridiculous near redline but I like it! Cruising at mid rpm’s and when highway passing it’s super 👍
Not much you can do for a parallel twin sound wise. Sewing machine or wet fart are the two options.

Not to loud either but sounds beefy, I'm planning on getting one so I can drive from abaden Scotland to Dover in a day, just don't think that my 125 is up to the task 🤣

i live in Australia also and just ordered my new CMX500, is this muffler legal in aus or is it too loud???
Don't think they will sell it if its not legal. Use itproperly and the police wont have issues. We havent had issues with it, even passing a police a few times already.

How does the rebel handle on the freeway over 100? Both in terms of passing power and stability etc
Not too bad. Steady on the freeway. I'm not much of an aggressive rider so it has the power I need 🤘
So it basically comes down to wether I want a Prius or a motorcycle

Ok so I live right next to that area so if you ever want to go for a cruise together I’m down, I have a CMX500 LE so yeah and I’m 18, I thought I knew that area on the 5:40 mark so that’s honestly cool

To me the Stock " melon cannon " sounds better Tone-wise at idle, The V&H sounds better when the motor is under load, but.... the pitch is to high, (Ba Ba Ba Ba) versus a, ( Buh Buh Buh Buh)....
Feel lot more safer on the road with this pipe. The stock pipe was too quiet. But agree that on road vs idling sound on VH.

Actually sometimes it does. mostly when youre just in idle.

NAH!!! iLL stick with my stock exhaust...i can ride all i want late at night without pissin people off.
With the Vance & Hines pipe on at idle it sounded like someone making fart sounds through a tube . On the drive by passes it back fired a lot and sounded tinny . This is a nice little bike the Honda Rebel but it's NOT a high performance bike and just sounds better with the stock exhaust .

no baffle....thats why it sounded much better. but in most countries you need it to be street legal. thats why the comparison is not worth a lot :(
