Type in Callie Day and watch some of the songs she sings.... she's extremely versatile in tone and delivery. Though it hadn't crossed my mind at any point, I don't think she'd disappoint in playing Mahalia

This is TRUE OLE SKOOL GOSPEL!!! Like back in the day, all you had was a piano (or organ), VOICES, foot stomps (on wooden floors) and hand claps. A few churches would have somebody playing a washboard, wood blocks or a base drum standing on the floor. Heavenly and soul-stirring music, I tell ya!!!
