The series is dead unfortunately and it most probably won't change. The management is not interested in continuing the series and if they even wanted they'd need to start it anew I think. Actor that plays Rokita (Boruta's sidekick) died during the pandemic and I am pretty sure many actors changed during these years. So just be prepared for the emptiness in your heart after Jaga :

I lived for 18 months in Poland and understood enough Polish to immediately get the "Rybocalypsa" without reading the translation lol The humor is great in this one :D

In prison slang, "bardacha" or "bardaszka" (in Polish, the "ch" and "sz" are interchangeable) means "place to shit". Here, "Bardacha" is used as a mocking name. And on the palm of Bogus Kołodziej's hand (a reference to the mythology of the Slavs and the founder of the Polanian state - Piast the wheelwright), i.e. the one who makes wheels - there is the rune Thurisaz, otherwise known as the Durisaz rune, the third rune of the first eight of the Futhark. Thurisaz corresponds to the voice 'Th' and means, in a general sense, giant or thorn. The shape of the rune represents a shield. Its protector is Thor, the god who wields lightning.
This rune represents vitality, goal-oriented power, life resourcefulness and control over one's life. It is an energy rune that shows steadfastness and composure. It has the strongest defensive power of the entire system. The power of good and evil is contained in this rune simultaneously. It contains war and peace, aggression and defence.

There were talks about creating a full movie Twardowsky 3.14 but from my understanding they didn't get enough funds for it, then Covid hit and everything went bad. No funds no movie. But who knows, maybe they'll do a reboot one day. As someone mentioned here in comments, the actor that played Rokita has unfortunately passed away and other actors had aged. Also if you want you can watch music videos with songs from the episodes, they add depth and some background story and they're great to listen to.

@@mariaok8832 Maybe, I have seriously not followed the news enough to be 100% sure. I just know that back in the day some news outlet mentioned finanse problems of the project and the info just stuck with me.
Bless you for having researched the legends prior watching the series. I've seen RUclips people reacting to them without any clue what they were referring to. Hope you continue watching and enjoying these (Jaga is also awesome). If you do - remember there are also music videos to some of the songs used (they're mostly covers of some Polish classics). And these music videos also tell little stories and feature some characters from the legends (devils mostly).
Mam wątpliwości czy ktoś, nie znając polskiej kultury i historii, jest w stanie prawidłowo odebrać tytuły tego typu. Analogicznie gdyby temu Panu pokazać "Rejs", nic by nie zakumał.

With this 'P' on his hand, I have my theory.
The protoplasta of first polish Kings was Piast Kołodziej. There is legend about this family and blessing he and his sons get.
The main character have name Boguś Kołodziej - so he can be in this liniege of the Piast's - 'P'.
Noone noticed but real legend here is FSO Polonez❤❤❤ Also now turned into stone..
so similar movie would be Kołyskanka- polish Vampires story :P
I love that he is driving in an old polish communistic car called Polonez it was like a better one people usually had Fiat 126 called maluch which means tiny. watch Tom Hanks getting one 😂 he liked it so much that polish people send him one.
Netflix...? You know what those Wook butchers would do with those Legends? Basilisk would be transgender, the main character would have to be a strong independent woman, and for some unknown reason, most of the cast would have to be black, Asian, or whatever in a homogeneous country of 96% white ethnic Poles. That's what Netflix would do. Well, the plus is that just glorifying the main character would take 50% of the recording time.

There are many things that are found funny only by Poles of a certain generation tbh. The "forfiter" that Bogus calls the Basilisk is from a viral vid from the early 2000's where a Pole wanted to feed an alligator, the Shaggy-Dopey is from "Przygody Wesolego Diabla" (The Adventures of the Happy Devil).
The Polish Basilisk was also not really a serpent, it was more like a mutated chicken too, unlike the one in Harry Potter ;)

There is book with fairy tales with title... Old Fairy Tale (Stara Baśń). It is compilations of oldest Polish legends. This is modern version legend about Basilisk. If you want fully understand this short movie i recomand read legend.
Fun Fact: in series Witcher tnere is also several references to Old Fairy Tale.
The director of these films is Tomasz Bagiński, nominated for an Oscar for the best animated film "Cathedral" in 2003

What these short films show is how Polish cinematography could look like if it was well funded and professionals were employed. Because there are many of them in Poland, also appreciated in the world. Unfortunately, that's not the case, which is why we have so much bad cinema.
That's true for most of Europe. Imagine the EU finally recognized the importance of this industry and came together to fund a proper studio. Instead you get government funding for some state agreeable family stories that nobody gives a flying f about instead of trying to actually become a competitor to hollywood. Thanks to much better working conditions in Europe, American actors would come in swarms... But nope.
These short films are modern interpretations of old Polish legends, these stories were quite short so there is not much to expand 🙂
It's not about beating selfies. The Polish basilisk turned anyone into stone who looked him in the eye. So the only way to defeat him was to show him his eyes. 'Cause I got the impression that you didn't quite understand xd

I don't know if you read about Baginski - director, but has won an Oscar price back in the days for short movies like that.
Mart, the is a great channel about Poland with videos in English, is it "Stefan Tompson " , a Britishman with Polish roots, who moved to Poland and knows a lot about our history and culture. I think ti's worth watching his videos and reacting to them. I don't know if any copyrights are not involved , but I urge you to check.

you seriously don't see runes in these signs? /Runic/ this specific one is P, I suppose means Polish, but the runes, apart from the sounds, had magical symbolism. besides, turning into stone and such monsters are known from Greek mythology. Medusa (Greek Μέδουσα Médousa, Latin Medusa). actually it was 3 sisters Gorgoes.

'P' rune symbolized 'Perun', god of thunders, his symbol was a giant oak tree. You can see oak tree in thunders so it was definitely him. The biggest Slavic god. He was also mentioned in other Allegro films
@@wiolomatic OK, but it also looks identical to Thurisaz rune - don't You think ? And also if the Perun was God of Thunders - there is obvious connection between slavic folklore and vikings folklore - if You look at the Elder Runes and their meanings. the Vikings were trying to invade Slavs many many times over the Baltic Sea, but they found Slavs to be too much of a hassle and they just gave up trying. The cultures, myths, and religions has been spreading in and assimilating.
@@Zajkos211 I will give you that - they should not use that rune, because it definitely is Nordic rune, but we do not have any description of Slavic scripture because of Christianization. If there was one - we lost it completely, to the point that most researchers say it did not existed in the first place, which is weird if every nation around Slavs had it and used it for trade, but slavs for some reason didn't.
If you look at the history of religions there were connections between Slavs and like a half of Europe. There was no religion without some kind of trinity of woman (Rodzanice, Norns, Parkas, Brighids). Half of Europe had God of thunder as main god, but that does not mean that Zeus - Perun - Thor were the same. Even Celts were traveling threw Poland at some point (they lived there for a while, so there are stone circles, so cool) and there is a probability that slavs shared more with them than with Nordic people. Cult of trees is one of examples - each main god had tree that symbolized him, to the point that new village must have been created only if there was massive tree there (mainly oaks or maples called jawor). Most of that we have now is from old tales, old sayings that somehow stayed with us and things that someone else wrote about slavs.

It's worth noting that those films was made by a team of Tomek Baginski, famous from The Witcher series on Netflix nowadays.
Sadly, he has been caught in swamp of bad filmmaking and corporatism that is now Hollywood. And I have no idea what he brought into Witcher, considering he didin't seem to by anywhere near the crew that created that abomination.
Infamous, is propably better pictures of situations. Witcher by Netflix is a blasphemy for Witchers book story's fans.
