Chuck at first I thought you had went all technology on me and was using green screen, Your background was NICE , you always video in some of the best locations, you are a true inspiration to the hobby of radio 👍👋
Nice job Chuck ! That IC 705 works great . Just need a buffer for a amp . They easy to make as well. I used optocoupler and FET for switching. I have 2 PTT inputs and 2 isolated outputs. Runs on 9V battery . HV FET switches/keys tube amps with 120V relay. I use Heil headset and a foot switch or hand trigger . That keys buffer and buffer keys radio and or amp. For radios that have no PTT output. Like the QT 60/80 radios. My friend did QRO pota with a IC 705. 600 watt 24V amp ! I only have transistor amps up to 300 watt and a tuve 1.3 KW. The RM Italy like Ape has works great POTA . I have similar one. Draws 35 amps peak at 13V . I use like 50AH LiFePO4 battery or bigger. Watch FT8 with amps. back down power like 50% to keep from heating up too much. 73
Ahhh, my old stomping ground. Was born and raised in that area. Maybe your headed down to Pismo State Beach. I've POTA'ed there, and plan on doing it again as well as Morro Bay Beach next time down. When I was a kid, the legend was that there was a secret submarine base under Morro Rock. Thanks for the video, Chuck. Frank K6WI
Nice video Chuck. The newer Micro PA50s are not as sensitive. In your description, you don't link to the Amp or the buffer. The buffer is what I can't remember the website too. Thanks for going through that.
@@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures Thanks I already had the flat zipper top ones on my Amazon list. The shaving kit ones are more what I an looking for. Have a great thanksgiving
Thanks for the great video Chuck! Did you need to do the firmware update on that amp for the SWR cut out issue? I've heard the Micro PA50+ doesn't need the update but the Micro PA50 does. I actually have one and have not used it yet as I learned about the SWR issue after I bought it. Thanks again for all your great videos and antennas! N8XMD
Hi Chuck, Great video. I also have the HamGadgets RBI-1A for my Heathkit SB-220 amp. Was intending to use my FTdx10 with the amp, but had to sell the radio last month. 😞Check you emails I sent one yesterday. Stay safe. 73 WJ3U

Sorry Don I added link to hamgadgets to the description. i couldn't find the amp on Amazon and didn't want to do alliexpress
Great video Chuck! I just got that 100m tuner for my 705 So I must have made a good choice since you're using it. 😁 Hoping to POTA tomorrow with it.
You teasin' me with new antennas!
Well yea, I knew last night I was dropping this video Lol.
Thanks for sharing this video Chuck. The amp price is kinda outa my range. A portable moxon or yagi might be more in my range.
It's minus 1c here, and trying to snow!❄️
What’s up Chuck 👋🤷♂️
Great video new antenna looks interesting. Where did you get the bags that look like shaving kit bags? Jim KI7SSO
Thanks, I make those bags. I can get a link to something like it if you want. amzn.to/412cWM2, amzn.to/41dI8bn That is two styles.

Stop buying under powered and grossly overpriced radios and just buy a 100 watt radio.
I knew you would be here Lol I have 100 watt radios and use all my radios. Thanks for watching!
