Hi Lui, I am trying without success to concatenate several columns, but one of them is of administrated metadata. Do you know of any way to do this? I tried with power automate, but in the end it always ends in an infinite loop and deactivates the flow because it is "slow" Can you help me with this, please?
This was great. My question is my drop down lists don't show up in the calculate. If I wanted a concatenate of your example of [Customer Last Name] and [Status] how do I do that?. So the value in the column for the top row would be "Yas Pending Approval".
I'm not entirely sure what you mean that choice columns don't show up in a calculated columns. Choice columns are supported with this column type. It's also worth noting that calculated columns do not support choice fields with checkboxes.
Hello, I'm trying to Concatenate a Multiple Choice column with a Single Choice column. My issue is that my Multiple Choice column doesn't even show in the list of columns when trying to fill in the Concatenate formula, any idea why and how I can proceed please?
Hello, I'm facing a weird problem: With this formula "=CONCATENATE([test],"Word")" Sharepoint online can't save and returns :" Sorry, something went wrong The formula contains a syntax error or is not supported." Any suggestions on this? Thank You
Great video, very easy to understand. Thanks. I'm wondering if there's a way to use this kind of concatenation to display multiple selections from a single choice column. Is this possible, or would I need something like Power Automate to complete the action?
Hi there, my sincerest apologies for the delay in responding. If I understand the question you're asking if it's possible to concatenate the values from two or more single select choice type columns. If this is correct then yes it is possible to do this using this approach.
Hi Ines, unfortunately there is no easy way to do this from the Sharepoint interface. You would need to create a flow in Microsoft Power Automate or use a Powershell script I hope this helps and thanks for watching
Hi Sri, based on my research, you cannot use a formula to convert time formats in SharePoint list calculated columns. You would need to use Microsoft Power automate to handle this. You may also be able to use JSON formatting to manipulate the time value. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Unfortunately you cannot reference the created by or modified by columns when using the concatenate function. You would need to use Power Automate to accomplish this. Hope this helps and thanks for watching
Thank you, Lui, this is very helpful! Quick question: you can't reference a lookup column in a calculated column, can you? if Yes, can you share how, please? Thanks
Great video, how can I choose to make the concatenate column the default item shown for the event in calendar view? My calendar is defaulting to the event title but I would rather it show my new concatenate column
Hi Lui! Any chance you have a tutorial that shows how to concatenate 2-3 multiple line text fields into one multiple line text field within Sharepoint?
Hi there, the best way to see a list of all columns (including the default ones) is to click on the view drop down (which typically reads "All Items") and then click on edit view. Here you will see a list of all columns that exist on the list. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

if the fileds are in different lists ? we can take it one or 2 field merge from another list ?
Hi there, I do not believe you can concatenate fields in different lists. The fields need to be in the same list for this to work. Hope this helps!
