Debating on running the FAS or Challenger. Both seem so similar...

Both are excellent AX ships - in my opinion the Challenger is the better option though due to generous hardpoints but the FAS performs extremely well and so will not let you down if you decide to use it

Is there difference between xeno plasma charge and xeno gauss cannon?

Dont know if you've been answered, but plasma chargers offer more damage at the cost of almost all penetrarion
Generaly you should just use all gauss cannons as the only charger worth usijg is the salvation version, the stock one is vastly outperformed and harder to aim. Much harder.

its so that the swarm/thargoid isnt able to target her as well as it could im pretty sure

Also, it can be used to increase your ship's heat generation. 300% heat removes Caustic affect from your ship

Why not a gunship? Isn't there more hardpoints for that one?

yeah but its slow. speed is arguably the most important aspect of a ship in cold orbit AX techniques
