I have been seeing gordon lightfoot since the age of 11, in one week I will be 66 years old, I even got to know gordon for a long time, he sang to me and my mother for long time, he was a true sweetheart, I will always think of him and keep his memory alive forever or until I am gone. Love you gordon and the guys forever, thanks for everything suzan landeen from long beach California
We will miss you, Gordon!! RIP!
R.I.P. love Gordon Lightfoot 🇨🇦🎆🎼
Great time. I was in Viena then. That's where I found his 1993 Album. I studied it.
I have been singing Gordi's stuff since I was seven years old and started playing guitar(12 string) at that age,and became a songwriter later on.. if you followed him like I have, I have been backstage with a couple times at Massey Hall , you can hear his voice, and annunciation changing this concert... Having said that, there is and only ever will be one Gordon Lightfoot in this world...
The intubation tube, had a big impact , also. But through it all, we were still Blessed to be with him in performances. That’s all that mattered.
✨🕊✨
Outstanding!!! This was right before I discovered the Legend himself. 19 years old and just learning Jim Croce's music..... Then, I started listening to the man whose music will forever live inside me. Thank you for posting this!!! I'm going to grab my Martin and play along.......
Glad you enjoy it! As far as 1990's bootlegs of Lightfoot, this one is pretty crisp. I was born in the 90's, but I always wish I could have seen him back then, when his voice still had its full strength.

Agreed...... Went to my first concert in 95 and have seen him at least 30 times since then..... Sad his voice disappears a little more each year, but so thankful to see him!!!
@@bishadeal Yeah, I saw him for the first time in 2015. Even then, his voice sounded pretty good compared to now, but that's aging for you. I'm betting smoking over the years didn't help his voice either.
How awesome finding this! The only time I did see him perform live was exactly this show. I'm sure it was like a Thursday evening. I was so wiped from the week's work that he lulled me to sleep in my seat 😭..... hence I had wanted to apologize by attending one last performance. Such a gift out of Canada, to all, he was 💜
That is so cool that you saw him on this same night. I bet hearing the concert recording was a drive up memory lane for you.
Thank you for posting. Yet another lovely live hour with the genius. My heart is still broken *tears*
I have attended a couple of concerts at Place Des Art and it's these live performances I enjoy the most because of the variations in the way he sings the familiar songs. Just a nice fresh twist from the albums.
Great, great set list!!
Saw/heard Gord in the mid to late 80s show in Montreal @ Place des Arts eh! Always gold from Gord!
❤the best
Listening from The USA; thank you for posting this,
RIP you legend.
Rip Gordon
Thanks for posting this!
No problem. It's one of my favorites for sure.
I'm dump founded how there has never been a pro live concert on video during Gords classical 70's .. their is a 60's limited version and a 90s video when his vocals was torn to threads . . but nothing during his prime..
That always surprised me too. I would've thought there would be a mid-70's Massey Hall live concert video & recording released way back, and potentially a second one from the 80's or 90's. I think Gord's voice was still pretty full in the early 90's, but started to fade by the middle of the decade.
Puts the ever in forever ?!!
RIP 5-1-23

🥲
Could you possibly try to find stay loose live
I'd wish anyone who'd attempt such a thing good luck with that, lol. It's a shame, but there are so few live performances of songs from Salute and East of Midnight.
Hi gordon

Photos are not 'live.'
His best song ever 45:17 💜
