This is stuff is great for me as a new console player. As I leveled up, I’ve tried almost every build, and figured if I’m over levels doing MSq and side quests, I might as well get mastery on weapons I haven’t tried. This lets me know at a glance what to keep. May I suggest that at the end of a video like this, or a section, a quick text breakdown splashed on screen, so us noobs can screenshot and reference it for days to come. Also, it would be cool when you do the weapon/build videos, to show some brief expedition mob and boss encounters. I think one thing a lot of equipment and build videos lack is showing rotations. It’s not just the skills used but the rotations and weaving that set the veterans apart from us noobs. Sorry for the ramble, I played ESO for years, to a long break, and this games beta then launch has made me excited again.
So, I know hearty is generally considered to be nearly mandatory in most builds...but there's something I've been using and I haven't seen it reflected in builds or discussion specifically with a spear dps build. Most dps builds will use the Aggressive Maneuvers trait because it helps get your cool downs back really fast...with this trait you essentially dodge > skill > dodge > skill> dodge > skill....so each successful hit after the dodge reduces all the cool downs...for these 3 dodges alone hearty would seem to be necessary... EXCEPT. In the left side of the spear tree you have the trait Evasive Maneuvers, which says your dodge consumes 20% less stamina for 2s after a successful hit. So I've been able to run these two traits together, and still get 3 dodges without Hearty, because your second 2 dodges cost less than they normally would. And because I have the Strong Conditioning and Invigorated Crits traits, and nimble on the earring, my stamina regens quite fast. So by the time my cool downs are back up, my stamina is full again, and I get 3 dodges again. So this has allowed me to run a ring without Hearty and still maintain 3 dodges while on spear. So I have leeching, divine, and enfeebling on the ring, so that enfeebling skewer stays up longer and more consistently for my team. (I could certainly go for a different perk than Enfeebling if required but the point is it allows me a 3rd perk option for the build here.) And i don't dodge nearly as often when I swap to Greatsword so it's not nearly as mandatory and my stamina just kinda naturally stays topped off with little to no effort in my skill rotation. Maybe give it a try and tell me if you notice any difference in the way it feels to play, for me it's been an unnoticeable difference whether I do or don't have Hearty, which to me means it's just not necessary with this combination of traits and perks.
@@fullmetalathlete That is a very good point. For the video I’m mainly talking in generalities so people will understand hearth is really required for most people. Spear and hatchet are two that yes you can get away with, but I don’t want to confuse people so I try to keep it simple on a beginners video. That extended weakening is a great move on your part, and for fire mutations it’s really bis. If you skewer the named before it drops the fire of doom, then you will have a better chance of surviving. Great great point by you. Thanks.
The Frigid Dawn Gear is still it. Ya, I think of Health and Refreshing as a filler also. 10k armor with 1 health is a 240 increase....woooo. All five with it is okayyyy, but still seems like meh. All the refreshing you can possibly add never seems to take away, depending on the CD time, 1-2 seconds. It's not like it cuts something in half. The more useful weapon perks you can use the better in my book. Thx to NW Buddy you can see that most PVE NPC's attacks are lt/hvy attacks, with some occasional magic mixed in, so like you said it is the must for both PVE/PVP. I am getting some quite useful gear out of the Epic bloon crates from the well 2-3 pieces a week or gambling on the loot biased pieces that cost 250-375.
@@GlenironPa good point. Refreshing on the frigid dawn gear is more of a tank/healer thing for me. A non tank, weapon perks for sure and/or slash/thrust conditioning.
Hey BeeBop, first of all thanks for all the videos for new players. I am currently building a tank set, all Frigid Dawn and Void Plate ( if it gets in rotation) what extra perks should I put on my armor ?
@@DanB328 I love to have refreshing as a tank on my frigid dawn set. If cooldowns are not an issue for you then slash conditioning would be the next best option then strike conditioning.
Newish to 65 and transferred to Rosa (syndicate) and working on m1s, are there any companies that take newer players that want to actually learn the content and not speed run everything? Tried asking in game…no luck so far.

Exactly what I needed as a freshish 65 trying to pvp. TY

If you have Lifestealing on multiple pieces, does it stack?
Also, will Lifestealing & Leeching on two separate pieces work together?
Tank build with hammer pls!
