- Laika employed GFG Style - the company of famous car designers, Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro - to assist in the conception of its new flagship motorhome, the Kreos L 5009. The result - reports Peter Vaughan - is a truly stunning motorhome, oozing Italian style and equipped with every modern luxury - even a dishwasher!

09:35, that leather application on the captain chairs… ooofff
Thank you from Norway. This will be my next one. -:)
Great to hear that we have Norwegian viewers!
Thanks Peter, another excellent review. If ever my lottery ticket comes in, I'd love one of these. I love that it has a dishwasher, those fantastic taps and that excellent garage.
If I had time for a three-month tour of Europe, it would be at the top of my list, too - funds permitting!
A very nice, quality motorhome.
Totally agree. A bit big for my tastes but a superb 'van
When the two single beds are made into a double bed the gaps are atrocious. These designer teams are great at styling, but I doubt they have ever spent a day, let alone a night in a campervan. Not being able to use the bathroom at night without messing with the ladder was such a good point you made.
It works very well as twin singles but these singles-to-double conversions are rarely great IMHO. Let's hope an island bed Kreos is coming for those who want a double bed.
Good review as usual Peter, love those locker door hinges but the fronts looked unfinished, never had a dish washer so wouldn't tick that option. Creaky floor on a 150k motorhome, not acceptable IMO but prices are now crazy. I agree with your comment re screw caps, also saw what looked to be a screw head bump in the soft finish over the cab and the bottom toilet locker door didn't quite look right with a large side gap but over all a fantastic motorhome. Cheers K.
Yes, it's a fantastic motorhome, but they're never perfect!
@12.34 look at the grime on the seat and the table is too small for anyone sitting on the opposite "sofa" ... however there is much to like about this vehicle.
My 2005 Bessacarr E795 has some pretty good features to match some of the Laika's & at best is probably worth around £25k. Always enjoy your reviews Peter & keep them coming but in my real world I don't see this dream machine delivering 6 times the fun !
Thank you, glad you enjoy the reviews.
Isn't that the same for everything? Is a £100 bottle of wine ten times better than a £10 bottle of plonk, etc? Enjoy your Bessie - I remember testing those back in the days when the brand wasn't just a Swift with a different badge!
@MotorhomeCampervan It was finding the MMM Oct 2005 review of what turned out to be my very machine, that prompted me to buy it 11 years ago - just love it !
Thanks for another excellent review Peter, I love the look of this van if only they did it on a Sprinter base.
This comes close to the Supersonic for me but not quite there!
I think I prefer the Laika, but would rather drive a Merc. Good thing I don't have to make the choice!
@@MotorhomeCampervan that's interesting. What puts it above the Supersonic for you?
It reminds me of a Hymer S820 in layout.
The one from the early 2000s? I tested an S740 back in the day and remember its wonderful curvy sofa. Too many motorhome seats are flat and uncomfy because they might occasionally also be a bed!
@@MotorhomeCampervan Yes, I think there were three in the range, the S650, S740 and the flagship S820.
What size tyres if you do not go for the option?
16in wheels on all these, irrespective of options
Wish the garage went full height so I could get a full size motorbike in.
Bet your Mrs is always excited
She sure is!
I’d rather have a washer dryer than a dishwasher about time all motor home manufacturers started giving you the option……bin the oven who uses them these days a hob and a microwave is sufficient 😊
But a microwave needs a LOT of battery/inverter power or a mains hook-up. Off-grid a gas oven is much better.
A very beautiful design. 9 out of 10, the price was the cruncher.
Unfortunately, that's the way prices have gone. I don't it's over-priced compared with a Hymer or Carthago and style here is fabulous.
Does that bright kettle go everywhere with you?
Not everywhere but most places! It's often replaced by my Tassimo coffee machine now
Frankly…can you refresh my failing memory? which production Lamborghini did Giugiaro and son designed? And …by the way for the record they didn’t have much to do with the Ferrari 308 scale model on your table.😊and what on earth is doing the Ferrari badge on the table??
Giorgetto Giugiaro designed the Lamborghini Cala and others models that didn't reach production.
The 308 might not be his design (of course) but was there for the Italian design link. I don't have a Cala model, but if you want to send me one just post it to the MMM office and I'll use in my next Laika review!
@@MotorhomeCampervan In the automotive world Giugiaro is not considered as the designer of Lamborghinis. The Cala was a concept ,non production model.Instead there are designers that are considered as Lamborghini Designers,Gandini most of all.I honestly do not see much link between the Ferrari brand or 308 or Lamborghini design with the motorhome design you reviewed.
@@AZ-vg6li The link is great Italian design by a famous (the most famous of all?) car designer, whereas most motorhomes never see input of this type. Laika is the most upmarket and stylish of the Italian motorhome brands, so the Ferrari or Lamborghini of its market
I'm wurak thes motohom
A really excellent review, very well delivered. It would have been nice to know how much water it can carry, but beyond that, perfect.

@@travelcampervansandmore Doh! I missed that bit somehow. 200 Ltrs is great. Thanks for pointing that out.
Many thanks, nice that you commented
You lost me when You told us the price
I'm afraid that's the cost of a top-end motorhome like this now
@@MotorhomeCampervan Yup so unaffordable to most normal mortals and I would also say certainly not worth it. Given the hastle you will undoubtable get with all the electronics. Also that isn't top notch
Creaky floor at that price -no thanks, but very enjoyable review (as always)
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it
Nice but way out of my price range I am looking for a compact camper which includes a microwave oven
Most of the British makers offer a microwave in Fiat Ducato/Peugeot Boxer sized campervans. Have you watched my Murvi Pimento video?
@@MotorhomeCampervan yes i have just watched it i like the For Transit conversion very mch Thank You for the information
All that I can see is someone who has added styling for styling sake. It reduces storage space and adds weight. Not impressed for that price.
Take a look at one in the metal - it's stunning. Not sure there's anything that adds significantly to the weight, or eats into storage, but it's not just another bland beige interior!
Looks like a horsebox
Well, it's a body on the back of a chassis-cab, so there's always going to be a degree of similarity, but beyond that? If you prefer, there's now an A-class version
Content great... but PLEASE just talk normally, its too "top-gear-ish" - I feel like such a twat for saying it... but I'm sure you don't speak like that in real life?
The designer should stick with Lamborgini, he knows nothing about camping. These things are designed for people with more money than sense who will use it one or two weekends a year. If you've ever spents several months at a time travelling this design would become tiresome quite quickly.
What would become tiresome? The layout is well proven, there is nothing impractical added here and the spec is comprehensive for real all-season use. All GFG Style has added is genuine style, so it's just another bland sea of beige
@@MotorhomeCampervan I don't know what he's on about. The major gaffe I saw was the ladder to the main bed blocking the door to the toilet room. 😆 One would expect better design at this price point.
Always good information, but the fast zoom in, zoom out shot transitions make the video unwatchable for me, Which is a shame as i enjoy your content, but my eyesight can't cope with the daft editing so i just end up listening to the comentary but do not watch the video.
I'll pass your comments on to our videographer
Peter you really need to dress appropriate for this sort of motorhome and get your hair cut it really looks a mess and you look scruffy
@@greenjacket66 yes Larry I agree with your opinion
Hence his advice to avoid looking in the full length mirror.
I have found that the people who comment in a negative manner with regards to longer hair in mature gentlemen, tend, shall I say to be ever so lacking in the area.
Sorry, forgot the tuxedo on this occasion... As for my hair, it's about the motorhome not my coiffeur, surely?
@@MotorhomeCampervan grow up and try to be a bit more professional on this occasion
