TOKYO MARUI MK23 VS NOVRISTCH SSX23 REVIEW - FULLY TESTED

- Опубликовано: 13 окт 2024
- Hi guys and girls. In this video I look at the Iconic Tokyo Marui MK23 and compare it to the new Novritsch SSX23 to see how they stack up against each other.
This review consists of a few tests that prove through real numbers which gun performs better under certain criteria. Please note the TM MK23 used in this is upgraded and the SSX23 is stock. This is so a fair comparison can be drawn.
Thanks (Stigmau5) for the camera work see link to his channel below for great airsoft gun reviews!

Now that's how to review. Full of the relevant content. Great work
Thanks 😎👊
Great video and thorough review! A few tips on measuring sound:
1. Never measure at point blank range, the pressure wave from the muzzle will register as sound. In most fields of engineering 1m away is standard. With an air gun you might need to measure at an even further distance to get a coherent result. Like 3m, so the air puff dissipates.
2. Never measure with a mic directly next to a surface, adds 3-6db intensity, due to rebound/compression near surface. Ideally the microphone should be suspended at least 1 meter from any surface, ideally on a tripod, but sitting on a ledge or edge of a table, handrail, is good enough. Put the phone on a ledge, hold the gun at the same height/level, 3m away, pointing right at the mic.
3. Measuring outside will provide a better recording and cleaner curve since there are no room reverbs etc. Unless there is wind or noise. That way you can see the difference in characteristics much clearer.
4. If you do more of these reviews consider getting a calibrated microphone, like the 3.5mm plug Dayton Audio iMM-6 Calibrated Measurement Microphone for 20 dollars. It is light years better, almost considered legit for serious stuff. +- 1 dB error.
5. With a proper mic, check if C weighing can be enabled in the app. Usually a standard feature with A/C selectable. C is a weighted sum/"equalization" that preserves low frequency content at relatively flat levels. A ignores a lot of low freq content. Low Freq, the "thump", is what is hardest to suppress and travels further.
Thanks thats great information ill take that into account for my next video 👍👍
@@FOXGREEN You're welcome, thanks for the reply, even on such an old video! Wasn't expecting it haha.
Again great content, keep doing your thing!
Great information to know thanks! 👍🏻
Unbiased, informative and to the point. All round a cracking review. Keep up the good work.
Did I just hear a European say "inch" without any hesitation?
Haha in Ireland here we used deal in inches a few years ago so we can rattle off either inches or millimeters with ease. But don't ask me Degrees Fahrenheit vs Celsius 🤣
FOX GREEN I quite enjoyed that vid...
Might fet it when i’m 18 just bc i want to😂
Bro....AMERICA was a BRITISH colony not so long ago! You have the Imperial system from EUROPE.
The word has been ruined by phalas obsessed individuals.
Dispite the metric systems, we use inches, metres, centimetres, yards (less so), miles, ft. The main difference is regarding temp and people’s weight - you guys use pounds we use stone, but we do use pounds for meat for example. Not that different really.
I love the videos it is great to see successful irish airsoft youtubers
Thanks man I am just glad you like the video I am making :)
You know he’s Irish when he’s doing a review on a bale trailer🤣
🤣 this is 👍
Fantastic , comprehensive and pretty much what your fans (aka me)expect from your review / testing videos . Keep up the awesome content I am hooked .
Thanks man glad you liked it and sorry for the terrible wind noises 👍
@@FOXGREEN it was not that bad but it was in nature and we all know how predictable that is......😁
Hi I'd just like to say I've just ordered the ssx23 because of this down to earth review..good skills start Monday... :-)
Novritsch crap... That shitty gun is joule creeping as fuck
@@Schullitz That is not true at least for me, Mayeb your gun and if yu have a problem with yours you should contact them since they always get back to you and might be able to help you out, The gun is far superior to the tm version for the price so its actullay not that bad and I know from experience
Very good in-depth review and comparisson. You don't get "big" channels to do all this work. Respect from Argentina
Thanks a lot 👍😁
I will be honest, it was this review that sold me on the SSX23 and I absolutely love it. Been buying gear for my son and I so doubling up on costs. Wanted a pistol that performs well out of the box with next to zero faff. The SSX23 absolutely delivers. Yes I have fired the others and do like elements of the Tm and ASG etc but I am happy with my ssx23.
I am glad my review was all that it said it was. Nov guns make sense if you just want an upgraded gun that works put if the box. Sure you can do it yourself also but it usualy costs more that way. 👍
Re: Markings/Branding - who cares if it has the .45 markings - you are shooting BBs.
Haha I dont but some certainly do care. Some people pay a lot extra for brandings. I guess you and me don't care though 👍
reeanactor / battledisplay / collectors
Would be really nice as a wall hanger or as a display piece. They're not the only reason you buy plastic peashooters, but it's nice to have them.
I mean I brought the asg mk23 because I don’t see the point in paying like 2-3x more for branding and getting the same parts inside
Well tbh I really love the mk23 and I would appreciate it. Doesn't mean the gun is any worse for Airsoft, I think novritsch delivers great guns to play with and avoids unessecary expenses. That's for everybody to decide for themselves but I do appreciate the thorough rewiev.
thank you sir you've helped on a decision 4 years later Hope everything is going your way
Glad I could help yiu out! All is well thank you 👍🏻
More people need to review accuracy based on groupings instead of free handing it
Yip free hand its nit reliable at all lots of people can't shoot 🤣
So here is the real difference. The tm version can accept all of the wii tech internal upgrades. Clones can not accept the left side action bar
But the novrtisch doesn't need upgrades so....
@@FOXGREEN oh but it does. You don’t end up with a top tier product by combining the lowest quality of parts. And that’s exactly what novristch did. Took the cheapest mk23 on the market. Put a tdc mod and some fiber optics and sells it for 4 times the price.
FYI. Novristch’s base gun for ssx23 is $50 for gun, mag and power up suppressor. He does t even use hadron keys for the mod.
The plastic is super easy to break the gun hates tracers and bio bbs with a passion
You can buy a brand new TM and probably upgrade it to a higher degree for what it cost to buy ssx23 and just the suppressor Plus novs mags are absolute trash
@@FOXGREEN keep in mind I own both guns. And novs gun with all wii tech upgrades is still outperformed by bone stock Tm
@@FOXGREEN quite the opposite. The gun is trash. Lowest quality parts used Bone stock Tm will be far more reliable than ssx23 Novs mags are utter garbage The gun body is not formed with great tolerances or compounds so it’s brittle and can break with minimal impact.
I own both and play airsoft very regularly. Novs hates tracer bbs and bio bbs. Jams all the time. Tm never jams
I bought the ssx23 (£123) and ive got a asg mk23 (£60), the 1st day out i had problems with ssx23, the mag switch failed losing a mag in field, yes it also had feed lips problems out of the box cheap cheap cheap. You didnt take it apart, i can tell you there is no difference between the cheap asg mk23 and ssx23. My advice is buy the asg mk23 and tech it, cut one of the mag release buttons off left or right depends on you, use a peice of velcro stuck to the bottom back of the cheap mags this helps not loosing mags, doesnt work for tm mags. Buy the nov silencer and bottem rail they fit the asg. Use a long barrel so it goes into the silencer you'll have to drill out asg to allow this 8mm drill bit, fit the hadron duel screw with fang with the og hop up plate, all explained on the "snipermechic" website. In the end you will spend less and get more than buying what is a asg in wolfs clothing. I sent my ssx23 back for a refund i cant trust that again.
Right got a refund of only the ssx23 back, no refund of postage to post my faulty gun £18 or lost mag £24 due to their fault. So im £42 down. Thanks novristch well done in ripping off a normal customer the ones who pays for your lifestyle.
I’ve just done the same to my ASG (not tried out yet )
Maple leaf Decepticon @50 degree
H plate
Single screw hop up plate &
Hadron cover plate
Only thing is I’m undecided about the barrel Crazy jet mod??
One down side is the top slide no longer free slides and the hadron cover plate does not move under as the original did. However as I’m not going to be cycling the slide during real game play I’m not sure if it’s really worth worrying about.
Excellent video btw (ignoring the mic wind noise😁)...any chance you can review how to upgrade a G36?.
Chris Ackroyd well mine has 220 crazy jet barrel the end of the barrel is hidden in the silencer. Go slow with the drill bit 8mm and use a round file if it won’t fit till it does . slow and steady wins the race . I don’t have any probs with the top slide over my hadron, one thing I must say is lube the shit out of it, ssx23 was dry as the goby desert had sticky trigger from the word go.
hellraiser6662 - suggestions for lube (Airsoft only please🙄)? Specific or will a wd40 silicon spray work - or graphite powder (as used in locks)?
Ta!
@@chris_ackroyd well on the bottom part its the mech part i uses gun oil in a spray, same as what people use on real guns that kill stuff haha that works a treat, ive seen others use gun oil as well for mech parts on airsoft guns. But if you got silicon spray sitting around i cant see why not in using it or that ptfe spray (use that on my srs).. as long as its luded you are good to go. But any light lube spray should be good on mech parts.
Awesome comparison. Very thorough. So the TM LAM will fit on the SSX?
Thanks. Yes is should.
Great video I have subscribed on the strength if it ....was brilliant to see an unbiased review ...The SSX tempts me massively because of the metal slide and pre upgrades also the suppressor will fit my M4 ....happy days ...keep up the good work
Thanks man glad you did! The lighter trigger makes a huge difference with accuracy also the feel is much more realistic I must say!
One reason it might be bare of markings is due to the USA restrictions. I know when I bought the TM MK23 all the markings were scraped or melted off. Good idea if it saves you the hassle.
my friend bought one in sweden last january and get got them scraped of aswell so i think they have started doing that on iregular interwalls on this continent aswell
Most thorough review of both guns on The Internets. Well done and THANK YOU! Closed captions..."Mach 23 talking Marie versus much talked about nirvash SSX 23". It can't handle the Irish but then again that's why we kick ass and take names later....Patrick. :)
Glad you enjoyed it man 😎👍
Very good, comprehensive test..... Fair play man, I cringed ever so slightly when you were tightening the vice 😂 😂 😂
Haha yip snap crackle and pop as I said 🤣
Great review! There seems to be lots of hate for Novritsch lately but my SSX has been great. Literally the only gun I haven’t stared to upgrade within a week of buying it.
It is a good gun but I know a load of ppl had problems which is a pitty.
FOX GREEN yeah it’s a shame as it was something that is a know thing with the MK23 even before the SSX. That’s Airsoft! 😂
Brilliant video mate. Love your content. I just bought the ssp1 and I love it. Sendin love from England. Keep it up bro👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Thanks man great to have support from my neighbour's in the UK. 👍 😎
@@FOXGREEN ♥️
The ssx 23 is a rebranded stti mk23 with a better inner barrel and bucking and Hi viz sights. Same as the ssp1 being a rebranded KJW with the same upgrades. I have both and both counter part pistols. Not really worth the price points but still nice pistols.
Fare, unbiased review on both guns. Thank you very much, bro. I have a brand loyalty, so I will stick with TM )))
Thank you man! I love my TM also 😎👍
*fair. And it is a biased review.
Spectacular comparison / Review, thanks dude!
You are very welcome man!
"Cheaper" Although you still have to buy the Suppressor? Also done my own testings and at range tests over 50m the TM just comes into it's own my personal TM using .48's can push 70m whereas I'm yet to see the SSX do anything similar.
Ya still cheaper worry the silencer included see 25:35 the chart summary wit costs. Possibly it appears as though the tm and ssx were close in the hop up test where i was shooting them out to 60 m distance. You should make a video like me and see if the tm wins out I am sure people would be interested 👍
My ssx23 has no double feeds and shoots .49 novritsch bbs crazy far and I'm batch number one. I fully agree with fox green here.
@@Instinct3000x 👍
Dusty. But compared to the TM how does it shoot
The same from what I saw if not slightly better due to its lighter trigger pull
I heard some people are having consistency issues wit their ssx pistols. Any with yours so far?
Yes I have heard a lot of complaints I wont lie however the one I tested here seems to be all good. I am guessing batch 2 or 3 will be fine and they should all be more consistent from then on hopefully!
You definitely are my reference when it comes to know more about a replica. Thanks for the good content!
Your very welcome man thanks 😎👍
Was looking for KWA mk23 stuff, and came across this. Good review for these two but I gotta ask : think you can source a KWA mk23 and compare all three? I know these don't have slides that move so they're more "silent" but I'm more interested in general performance.
Again, thorough review and very handy for those of us trying to decide between the different guns
Ya I'll see what I can do if I can get my hands on one 👍
@@FOXGREEN nice! Thanks man!
without the sight on it you can fit the suppressor and an extra mag
Thanks for the good review - I just bought the SSX23.
You just got yourself a subscriber for not letting bias completely sway your review. I will be looking forward to more.
Thanks man. Some people tried to tell me that this review was bias. Can you believe that? I was like how??? 🤣 Oh well glad you can see it for what it is 👍😎
FOX GREEN No, I can’t believe that XD crazy, it seemed fairly obvious to me that you were very upfront and honest.
@@acewhim8804 thanks man. Yes theres no reason not to be 👍
Thank you for that review. I was looking so hard for a review with decibel test as I look for a really quiet gun for at home. So I’ve heard that spring guns are around 80 dB too, so that means if this works without any complaints, then I could go with the Novritsch. Btw, can you test the ASG MK23? It would be cheaper and if it is just as quiet I would save a lot of money.
I dont have an ASG if I get one I will try it out for sure 👍
The ASG MK23 "supressor" is not really a supressor, it's a extented barrel. So it shoots as loud as a unsupressed gun, but it's much more powerfull.
You’ve gained a subscriber from this video. Very good and informative content. Keep it up! 🙌🏼
Thanks man glad you liked it 👍
Excellent video. Maybe an additional comparison between these 2 and the cheaper stti mk23?
If I can get hands on one I defiently will thanks 👍
@@FOXGREEN Awesome, will wait for it.
Thank you for this comparison. I owned a TM Mk23 years ago and I'm tempted to pick up the SSX23.
Both are good but ya the Novritsch o e takes the work and cost out of it for you as its an out of the box solution 🙂
Great Video glad I'm not the only person out there that saw no need for the double screw tdc!
Its pointless if you understand how this gun differes from the tm mk23
@@FOXGREEN exactly, totally different style of hopup.
Hd do a pack now that comes with both anyway
beautiful video! please answer my question: can i change the Marui slide and outer barrel with the ssx23 metal slide and outer barrel? is the ssx23 tdc cover 2.0 compatible with marui also? thank you
Yes you can infact I did this myself even all parts are compatible
@@FOXGREEN wow! This is a beautiful notice! Thank you very much! Have a good day! 😉
Great review bro, zero shite, I like that. I'm just getting into Airsoft and am glad I stumbled onto the channel. Takes me back to the G10 and G50 days, coating target pellets with chalk dust lol those were the days.
Thanks man! That soubd like it was a lot of fun man and must have hurt also 😅

@@Metal_Dinosaur thanks man 😁
@@FOXGREEN you're welcome bro, hope you're having a great one, all the best
Don't agree on one thing, the hadron TDC that comes with the SSX-23 makes it shoot slightly to the left, bought a twin screw TDC and problem solved. Also for everyone looking into getting an SSX-23 get ready to face Double feeding issues, loosing the spring which is underneath the mag release, drastic FPS drops because the bucking is sooo loose. These are all facts which you can also find on the SSX-23 Owners fb group. However grate vid mate.
Thanks man this gun didnt have those issues but it's not to say that others dont. I like to think that the test showed it performed similar to the mk 23 here. Glad you enjoyed it.
It doesn't come with a Hadron TDC as Hadron has stated. You have to upgrade it to a Hadron. But the rest is so true.
I must be the lucky one as I’ve not had a double feed issue
Probably the best review on the ssx23!! Now we need some gameplay!
Haha I sent it back to Nov. I may buy one though 🤣
Great review thx for taking the time to go through everything
You can use ssx23 accessories on the TM MK23? like the Red dot plate...Great video btw.
Thanks man 😎
@FOX GREEN Do you know if the Novritsch metal slide is compatible with the Tokyo marui MK23? I know on the novritsch website it says it is but ive heard of people having problems with swapping other parts.
I dont actually know I should have tested that but I only have one of the guns now so cant. If he says it is i assume it should be straight off. I csnt see you having to do major work to the guns they are clones if each other. Internal changes from what I saw are very very slight!
I’ve been waiting for a video like this
Glad it's what you wanted 👍
Very nice review man, taken with care and informative
Thanks man 😁
Hello, does the SSX23 still shoot accurately if it is over-hopped? My SSX23's bbs sometimes go to the left if I use too much hop-up.
Its does shoot good but over hopping is just going to lift your bbs too high so don't overhop your bbs you want a flat trajectory
@@FOXGREEN Ok. thanks.
@@danielp4206 Maybe too late, but anyways, if you feel your bbs always go to the same side with high hop-up, its not about the hop-up or the gun, is about the way you hold your gun, probably you lean slightly to the right, the higher the hop-up and the longer the distance this "turning" effect will become bigger the bbs will fly high and turning to the side you are leaning your gun, if you grab the gun completly straight the bbs will just fly flat or will flat high if you overhop. Another cause probably will be bbs quality, not perfectly round bbs can turn, but the "turns" will be random depending on where the flaw is in the bb.
@@fubene5495 Yep, I figured out that was the problem.
@@fubene5495 Thanks anyway!
Hello , im thinking of trying the mk23 platform but i m too confused.I was thinking about getting the ssx23 but almost everyone had issues with it (feeding issues , sticky trigger and a lot of complains about it even the 2020 version) .So i m thinking the option of the STTi(i know that STTi is an ASG rebranded as the SSX23 (without the additional mods) it costs around 35 euros and then you need ~100 more euros to upgrade it with most of the parts that people recommend on mk23 owners group in order to out perform the ssx23 .What is your opinion about it ?(i m not even thinking the TM as it is too expensive and then you need ~100 to upgrade it as the STTi one)
Thanks !
My opinion is the SSX23 from what I could see performed the same as the TM but it was cheaper and more realistic. I think on the owners groups you only see the bad press because people go there to trouble shoot things that are going wrong. The percentage of guns actually giving trouble is probably under 1% in reality as you never see posts from people whos guns work great thats not what that group is for it's mostly for help. With that said as the SSX is a metal platform and if an issued does happen with your ssx23 it you can upgrade/fixed anyway in the same way as a TM or STTi and because its so cheap its worth just going for it. The chances are it will work perfectly and you wont need to mess with it at all. The feeding issue also is a 20 second fix with a sharpe knife and I explained this in my video I am sur the new mags don't need this mod no however.
I've had that safety problem with my pistol too. Enemy right there, jump out, pull the trigger and.... Safety was on, back to respawn
Ya the ssx23 has removed this which is great!
@@FOXGREEN I know. I definitely want to get it. I play at absolute airsoft in Cork BTW I know you've played there before
@@brianfosterkinsale4403 ymYa I have must get back there soon!
@@FOXGREEN definitely should, its a decent cite
just came across this, and this is honestly a great video - thank you for providing the airsoft community with this
Thanks man and sorry for the sound quality in parts of the video 👍
Can you list your internal mod parts for the MK23
I caught the 60 degree maple leaf hop up and barrel ...
But what were the others?
Thanks :)
Hey man other than what you listed above all I have after that is a Hadron TDC with H-plate for fine adjustment to the hop up 👍
Thanks:)
Is it true that the Irish use “stones” as a weight measurement?
No we are metric now so grams and kilograms mainly. But we imperail measurements like stones back 40 years ago so most Irish know both imperial and metric units for not only weight but measurments also.
I bought my son an ssx23 an suppressor for xmas an before he had even emptied 1 mag 1 of the bbs had caught on 1 of the foam discs inside suppressor an forced it through the others ripping 2 of the discs and jamming the suppressor. I had to empty the foam discs out unblock the jam an put discs bk in minus the ripped 2 so now i have a section of suppressor without any suppressing foam. You would at least expect they would check the holes in the foam were big enough and clear of any bits that could get caught by the bb traveling through
Thays a pitty I havent heard of that happening someone before. Is there much difference to the sound after the two were removed?
@@FOXGREEN my son hasnt used the suppressor since i think he scared incase it breaks the gun
@@jamiehuddleston129 it wont break the gun he's doesnt need to worry about that. You can reduce its size I believe by screwing it down and reducing its length ot comes apart in sections.
@@FOXGREEN yeah i know that an he does i jus think once it happened an he took it off he hesitant to put it back on. I did shorten it an made sure the shortened version was full of foam discs he just hasnt used it again yet. Yesterday ws the first time he had to use it since xmas so he jus wanted to use the gun wivout mucking about so once his suppressor jammed during a game it ws jus easier to take it off an play so it didnt happen while he ws playing again
I have quite a big question, is it frustrating or uncomfortable to pull the SSX 23 trigger (since it seems to have quite a long trigger). When you pull the trigger till it fires
He tm and the six have long trigger pulls because they are non blow back guns however the ssx23 has a better trigger than TM as tested in this video because its lighter
really good work, I have just one suggestion : you should always test suppressors with bbs, the sound changes drastically compared to blank firing. keep up the good work !
Good point noted! 👌👍thanks man 😎
also the novritsh silencer is really well made and you can shorten it just by unscrewing it, and quite a lot of people shorten their silencers
@@simonj9264 ya it a nice feature alright
Hi bud! Trying to find what type of gas to use in my TM Mk23. I read they are supposed to be filled with duster gas. Are all dusters the same pressure? Do all DIY store duster cans have the same and thus appropriate nipple to match up with the magazines? Bit confused about it. My airsoft retailer which sells the TM mags somehow doesn’t sell duster gas (and they are not replying to me e-mails grr).
According to Google most duster cans have a 145 psi or 10 bar pressure. The regular green gas cans sold at the same retailer have 145 psi aswell. Why wouldn’t I be able to use those? They do state at the description it isn’t suitable for japanese made pistols.
Hope you can shed some light on it. I need the TM to shoot 1.2 joule.
I woukd personally use airsoft green gas but there are four levels low I.e. White gas, medium I.e green gas, strong i.e red gas and final very strong black gas. The one you use really depedn on the ambient temperature so if it was winter and cold I would use red gas but in the summer white and even green gas are perfect. I use the gas that gives me the closes power in joules I need basically for the temperature that day. 🙂
@@FOXGREEN thank you! I ordered the medium variant which states it results in 145 psi.
Out of curiosity; do you know ‘why’ they say TM mk23 shouldn’t use green gas ‘offcially’?
mr fox green , did you have a feed issue with the magazine , ie a dry fire , first bb ok the rest just a gas pop, if so what was you're remedy ?
No I didn't but I mention in this video how to solve that issue with the mags its simple. You jus tried to make a small notch in the feed lips to get it to work. New versions don't have this issue anymore it was just the first batch or 2 I believe.
@@FOXGREEN i did the feed nozzle shave ,ruclips.net/video/fMdy5ppferU/видео.html
I also ordered the ssx23 now because I wanted to get it a long time ago what would you say how loud is the ssx23 in rooms about as loud as a TV when it runs or quieter?
Its very quite with a silencer man without its loud but not as loud as a normal GBB gun
Was a bit confused as i scrolled through the comments before watching your video. They are damn right. Great video, very clear and not even the slightest shilling.
Thanks I really appreciate that 👍 My gameplay videos are better 😉
Already watching them. Despite the Clickbait Titel they are great.
You really do not need em.
@@RoidRvge which title is click bait I usually make sure they are not click bait 🤣
@@FOXGREEN Do I have to name them all? :D You know what I am talking about, INSANE KILL STREAK!!!11 IMPOSSIBLE SNIPER MISSION!!!!!. You really don't need that. More subtile suits you better, but thats just my opinion. Great gameplay after all! I'm not a fan that you use your Sniper Rifle in kinda close distances sometimes. But I guess in the rush of adrenaline that happens. Keep up the good work. Already subbed :)
@@RoidRvge well if I dont name them like that people just won't click on them 😁. In ireland all guns even snipers are 1 joule only so we dont have a minimum engagement distance. So I can shoot someone with it point blank and it's perfectly fine over here. With 1 joule for all guns playing as a sniper means you have no range advantage and way less fire power you it's much more of a skill over here but I like the challenge of it 😁
The insane kill streak was insane I shot 37 people with no deaths and the impossible mission took 1.5 years before we completed it so it is true what I am saying I explain it in the video 😁
Thanks for this great info. Your sound level test should have at least six feet of distance to the measuring device. Close proximity creates the greatest sound pressure variation from the slightest angle and distance difference to the muzzle. Greater distance will also allow the longest / lowest frequencies to be included in the measurement. Lower freq's travel the greatest distance revealing the initial direction / location of an opponent.
Great review man. Will come back for more. Many thanks. Bryan.
Thanks man glad you liked it 😁👍
Does the Lam unit fit the ssx23 from the tm mk23? I would like to put it on my ssx23 for looks
No ot does not fit at all
Did you have to do any fps reduction to get the ssx23 under the 1 joule limit
Nope it just came shooting under 1 joule I k ow the website says up to 1.1 but a few people I have seen with them said theres are all under 1 joule 👍
very good review, all cons and pros without leaving anything unspoken
Thanks man 👍😎
It doesn't come cheaper because you have to buy the attachments after the initial outlay of money to buy the base guns. You get more when you buy the Tokyo Marui from the get go. What was the price of each with all the upgrades added in?
I go through this in the video. The Tokyo marui comes with the silencer and lam unit. The lam unit sucks and is as a result is never used and not worth comparing the silencer is perfect. The full package from Tokyo marui is 190 euro in Ireland. The ssx23 is 187 euro for the gun + silencer. So if your looking at the gun and silencer they SSX23 is cheaper it's a fact I can't make this up like 🤣The TM lam unit shoultn be factored into the equation it's terrible simple as that. Both guns come with a carry case the TM carry case again I said is better as its bigger and better made. The cost of my TM with upgrades was 250 euro so all in all it was much more expensive as the SSX23 Iin my tests either performed better or the same as the TM with no additional upgrades our of the box. Check out the summary table at the end of the video and you will see all the fact as tested with real numbers. This is an honest review gun were tested fairly in and environment that cant gove one and advantage over the other.
Ok. Where I am the price of the base SSX23 without silencer will be almost equal to the TM MK23 with silencer. (Canada). I can't give exact numbers yet as to how much the SSX will cost until they make it through the import process but I've been told that they will be around 300 dollars whereas the TM MK23 is between 260.00 and 360.00.
@@mass4552 ha and Ireland is an expensive country you can definitely get the TM tmmk23 cheaper in other parts of Europe also so in some places the tm may be cheaper still after upgrades 👍
Thanks for this. It's exactly what I've been looking for. Good show. I've been torn between these two. But Novirich's build with metal is what sold me. I can't stand plastic. As you can see why. And much better with a smaller case for me. Like consealment.
Tbh if I had my time back I'd get the ssx23 not the Tm it is also cheaper when you take into account the upgrades needed for the tm
@@FOXGREEN Good review, and succinct summary of Nov's products. His stuff is really fairly priced...just can't listen to the jealous haters.
Ya his stuff is very competitive price wise and quality wise. It's just people who don't know the first thing about the products and other prices that hate him usually.
@@FOXGREEN Have you gotten a chance to check out the SSP18 yet? I'm torn one getting either the SSX23 or the SSP18. I've never had a full auto airsoft gun, so the SSP18 would open up more options for me gameplay wise, but I'm usually a stealthy sniper so the SSX23 appeals to me for obvious reasons.
Last game I used my old Crossman C11 and from about 40ft or so it took the guys I snuck up on 5 seconds to figure out where I was. Really curious as to how close one would have to be to an SSX23 and SSP18 firing to be able to locate them based off retort.
I just received one from Novrtisch so I will be reviewing it version a TM G18 alright yes 🙂
Thanks, very useful comparison
You are very welcome
Would yo also rock this gun without the suppressor? And would you prefer to buy the suppressor OR the reddot? I could only afford one of both
If injad to pick I would go for the suppressor the whole thing about this gun is how quite it is when used with a suppressor so that for me is essential red dot there is no need for that at all its a close range gunand the iron sights are very good 👍
Excellent comparison. Very detailed!
Thanks 😁👍
Very nice comparison, thank you a lot!
Your very welcome 👍👍
What weight BBs do you recommend? 0.4g seem to fly very slowly for a secondary
In these gun si actually recommend 0.45 to 0.48 they go slow but super far out to about 70m on just 1 joule
Very good solid review mate.. well done 👏👏
Cheers man 😎👍
I would say this:
- No markings of an original manufacturers are a bit of a lay off, ok but, if you paint your gun, you cover those markings anyway, and you notice them only for some time when the replica is new.
- Thankfully beacose its not licensed, with absolute 0 markings, replika is way cheaper, affordable for much more people aaaaaand its very good out of the box, other much expensive replicas are way worse, but the price is high beacose of markings...
I’m probably a little late but is using .25g bbs for the ssx23 bad? Or do I need to spend the extra money and get .30-40s.
Heavier bbs work way better in these non blowback guns use 0.45 g bb's the difference is amazing compared to 0.25g
@@FOXGREEN Ok thanks I subbed
Thanks man 😎
Finally a proper comparison between the two, everyone's else's comparison is only like 5 minutes and barely gives any information.
Also i still can't figure out which part of Ireland that accents from
It's a hard accent I am from Cork but live on the limerick/Tipperary boarder so my accent is a mix of all three really 👍
Aloha Fox Green, great review!🇺🇸🇬🇧😎🤙
Thanks man glad you like it 😎👍
So do you use the ssx23 as your secondary? Or you don't own one still?
I use it as a secondary when I am playing in a ghillie suit still yes. 🙂
Question for the flashlight do you need novritsch batteries for it or can I get some for this at let's say Walmart or something
It takes standard AAA batteries so Walmart has them 👍
@@FOXGREEN ok thanks
The MK23 will always hold a special place in my heart
Thats because its a great gun 😉
Great comparison!
Oh, and we come to Eire again in end of May 2020. Airsoft in Eire? Where??
Near Dublin you should try either special ops airsoft or simtac both have facebook pages they are great sites!
@@FOXGREEN Aww, thank you!
Now, give me one more tip: how do I convince my lady to let me do an airsoft-match in our holiday?? ;-)
@@airsoftopa577 haha that's I cant help you with 🤣 But funny I have a similar issue to later this year on holidays where my wife is coming and I was to play 2 days of a milsim 🤣🤣
@@FOXGREEN Well, at least I´ll go to Dark Emergency in May... I just followed you on Insta ;-)
Hi Fox...if you could only buy one...which one would you buy?
I woukd go for the SSX23 now cones ready to go and is cheaper. 🙂
I'm tempted to get the ssx23.
I've got a TM mk23 it's super accurate and quite using stealth tactical 0.25g BBs
but be nice to try the ssx 23 see how it compares to the TM as we almost have the same upgrades
I think you will like the ssx23 more the trigger is lighter and the gun is more realistic being all metal
@@FOXGREEN I've just looked on the Nov website there still on pre order. I'm so tempted but I feel like a should stay true to TM but the ssx23 has all the mods straight out the box bar the odd upgrades we have done to our TMs already.
If I had my time back I'd buy Nov's not another tm
Me scrolling through the comments wondering how the hell you have time to reply to 540 comments Haha, I love this review well done
I find it 😁
I’ve had my ssx23 since launch and love it I run .36s in it and was quite shocked with the range I was getting and with how silent it was
one of the main reasons I bought it was the fibre optics sights
It's a great gun despite what some ppl think I have used both and I can honestly say I prefer Nov's
Do you find 0.36 work better than 0.32? I want to run it as a sidearm for my sniper, so it’s mainly only for MED engagements. I know at longer ranges heavy BBs end up reaching the target quicker than light BBs, but at close range lighter BB will be faster but decelerate sooner. Any thoughts?
@@rdb9936 I’ve swapped to a .4 now so I’ve gone heavier
@@sykesmr21 ahh interesting! How come?
Got recommended to have a look at your channel and I absolutely love your niche boss🚀 fair play✌️
Thanks man. Who gave you the recommendation? 👍😎
FOX GREEN I was looking for other Irish RUclipsr’s on a post on Insta and one of my subs told me to check you out👀
@Adam Redmond thanks man your doing well on your channel too great to see it man I have been at this now with just two years but I love it 😎👍
@@FOXGREEN Keep grinding boss, super unique (from what I've seen). Would love to try airsoft somewhere down the line if you ever fancy doing something together!
Excellent video! Well done. Cheers from Canada
Thanks 😎👍
Are these pistols both green gas?
Yes they are
Now ssx also had co2
where did you get the mk23?
Hobbybairsoft shop in Dublin Ireland they still have themnif you call then they aren't on the website however
@@FOXGREEN ok thank you!
Does the SSX23 Magazine works (its compatible) with the TM Mk23? thank you
Yes it does theybare compatible alright 😁
@@FOXGREEN thank you
Thanks to you I have decided MK23 😁😁👍 great review
Glad I could help 🙂
Very detailed review. Thank you for this great video!
Thanks your your very welcome! 🙂👍
really good comparison, thumbs up
Does gas actually work in the UK when it's really low temp?
In these two guns green gas works fine in the winter because theses are non blowback guns. In blowback guns green gas makes then shoot weaker in winter. The good thing is Nov is making C02 mags that can be used if it is very very cold like -10 degrees Celsius but I cant see me every needing that.
I use red gas in my ASG mk23. Durning winter. 15c or lower. Works ok.
jeezuz the music at the start gave me a flashback so big it became a flashfront.
🤣🤣
for the sound test u should actually put your finger over the end by 3/4 to simulate a bb
Ya it would be better alright agreed 👍
Great review. Thanks for sharing.
Your very welcome man 😎
but think of how long it took to upgrade a TM and how much effort and money, but with the SSX its pre upgraded so you dont have to spend the extra time/money/effort upgrading
Exactly and the ssx performs as good has a lighter trigger, nicer sights, is quiter, all metal and is cheaper with a gun case too.
Excellent review. Thank you.
Your welcome 🙂👍
I think for comparison you should compare them out of the box, not after particular upgrade, then you can see the differences
Well you see it wouldn't be a fair comparison u less you compared the ssx with a stock tm mk23. This way it is a fair comparison versus a out of the box preupgraded gun and a gun you have to upgrade to get it shootimg well. 🙂
I wonder if you can modify your gun to make your mags drop free very easily, for those that prefer that?
Ya I guess you could sand the plastic away in the mag well alright yes 👍
