I think the rent in those shopping centres is astronomical to the point no one would even attempt to open a business in them. I hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday and visiting the other places bring you some cheer.

good morning Mildred and many thanks for watching another video and also your kind comment. and yes, I totally agree online shopping is playing a major factor and all these shops closing down as they don’t have to pay overheads and staff which is a shame. I am the same as you. I enjoy going round the shops and seeing that item in person as sometimes when you purchase online, it’s not what it seems, the weather today looks nice and I’m just going to be heading over to Cockington possibly Brixham today. @@TheBlackpoolLads thanks Paul. I had a quiet day. Went for a short walk. It’s too hot in the sun. Will be a hot weekend. Up to 34c on Sunday. Forecast rain on Monday and cooler.
May get some thunderstorms next week. Got a bit sunburned today. Only in the sun 30 minutes. You have been very busy. I’m looking forward to seeing all your videos. hi Mildred and many thanks for your kind reply and yes the Sun can be unpredictable and people don’t realise how hot it can be as you can burn very easy. I hope you didn’t get too much sunburn today. Can’t believe how quiet Torquay looks. The weather looks really bad too, but whenever I’ve been there it’s been glorious. Brixham & Paignton close by, worth a visit.

Hello Paul. Another good video. I have never been to Torquay but it looks very nice place and shame about the weather.With regards to all the closed shops this seems to be happening everywhere possibly because of on line shopping and high rents and business rates on the premises.Well done.

It has a knock on effect in regards to businesses and small shops keeping a flow with high rents and high overheads as you mentioned, which is such a shame as it has a knock affect for people just wanting to shop day today. all the very best and take care, Paul.

Great video Paul, big difference is Blackpool still attracts people because of all the different attractions it has and these people use the shops etc. Gone are the days when people spend a week or two to sit on a beach in Britain. Blackpool still wins because there is so much to do or see. Torquay still looks a nice place though, hope it picks up for the town. Cheers mate.

Nothing beats Blackpool in regards to the atmosphere events and just general things to do for the single person right to the family in regards to the views. Turkey has amazing views, but the town has sadly gone downhill, all the very best and take care Paul.

Cool video , shame about the weather, still seems to plenty off money people, going by the boats in the harbor, but for how long, if there is no shops, even rich people like shopping ,if you go to Brixham, their was a seafood outdoor cafe right by the harbor facing the shops, don't know if it's still there , but i remember having a prawn salad from there, it came in a massive bowl, full of prawns , with the salad on the side, a huge pot of tea, all for 6 quid, we went on a open top bus from Torquay and the views were amazing .

And Brixham, you mentioned about that coffee outside it is still there, I went there today and filmed again magnificent views and it’s in a stunning surroundings again that video will be on, hopefully the weekend All the best and take care.
The famous harbour postcard shot reminds me of when i searched for the nightime postcard of the same. It was sent me years ago when my friends went on holiday there but i lost loads of postcards when i moved house. Although i do have some in a photo album, most are from places here i the Uk. Cant remember when a card dropped through my letterbix, another thing of the past Paul eh.x
Looking forward to the Brixham video, as we visited there and went on a boat that showed the old naval college were I believe Prince Philip went there.

hi Carol and yes we filmed Brixham today. Another stunning place with breathtaking views the town is absolutely amazing a couple of boarded up shops but nothing like what we have seen. We put in a video out in about an hours time of another area Paignton Which is also great for tourism. I do hope you enjoy it and all the very best. Take care, Paul.

Hi Paul,thanks for the tour around Torquay,what a difference a few years makes, so sad to see all the shops closed, it was a very bustling busy town, loved walking up the shopping area in the day, we stayed on Babbacombe road at the 4 seasons hotel,opposite the gardens and little church,that was 47 years ago. Was brilliant lovely place then, lots of night life and plenty to do. We walked up to Kent's Cavern,a long walk on a hot day,but well worth a visit if it's still open.
Grrst to see the harbour full of the beautiful boats, that's not changed. Shame about the weather, we've had very warm humid day here today but very windy .Looking forward to your next vlogs, thanks again, take care see you soon 😊x

You can get absolutely everything, online, now......unfortunately, this is reflected on the state/look of our high street's, nationwide. Shame, some would call it 'progress' but at what cost?
Many rely on an online weekly shop delivered, now, as no heavy bags, car parking worries, or getting 'up close and personal' with strangers....Sad really...😢
I'm sure Torquay probably appeared worse in the rain...sunshine makes everything look better.....🌞🌷

It’s delivered the next day without the hassle and stress of going out but as you Said this is certainly reflected on a high street all over the United Kingdom. You can certainly see the decline in the town centres which is very sad and heartbreaking. Again as you say all the online shopping has come at what cost.?? And yes the weather always makes things look more gloomy I guess but on the positive side it’s been fantastic here today and we headed over to Brixham and also Cockington Which is completely unreal there will be a video going up in about an hours time so I Hope you enjoy that one also all the very best and take care, Paul

We got to stay in Torquay for four days two years ago I was super excited because I had heard what a beautiful place it is but unfortunately the weather was horrendous it never stopped blowing a gale and chucking it down I didn't get to see the place like I hoped and looking at it on this video we missed a lot we spent a lot of the time in the Wetherspoons, so thanks for this video it's showing me what I missed ❤

yes I always try to support small businesses so you’re certainly right. There is the small shops in the small towns what struggle most compete in against the large supermarkets and online retail so as I say many of my videos I always try to support local businesses, all the best, Paul.

Use to live in Torquay in the 80s was good then sad to see it's decline 14 years of tory austerity didn't help
hi Keith many thanks for your comment and also watching and in the 80s we moved from Blackpool to Torquay late 80s and stayed there until around 2000 then moved back to Blackpool so possibly live here at the same time as you and yes it’s a shame that the town centre has gone downhill, but again that’s probably due to online shopping all the very best and take care
