    In my personal experience:
Get a scented lotion with a similar or somewhat of a neutral lotion(I use stuff from bath and bodyworks.Istg they work)
Applying the lotion on your arms and neck.
(Do this even if you’re wearing a long sleeve shirt or tee.)
And then let it dry a bit and apply Vaseline in pulse points
    Then apply your fragrance
    Works to well for me.
My Burberry weekend went from 6 hours to 12 hours from doing this with the added scent of the lotion aswell.

I actually find this is the best use case for clones. Most clones are made by middle eastern companies that by nature make their scents stronger but are missing the individual notes that higher end designer/niche fragrances have. To be expected. So if you have the real thing and performance is bad, I would buy the closest clone, and then spray that first and then spray the real version over it.
Also for beginners, I think what clones are good for is determining what scent profiles (especially in dry down) that you really like and resonates with your nose and skin. Then once you do you can go and find the real designer/niche version that has the best example of that note and then you can spend your money wisely on that fragrance. The only clones that I think are really good on their own and you don't need to buy the real thing are the Armaf clones of Aventus/Millesime Imprerial/Silver Mountain Water/Green Irish Tweed. These are close enough to the real thing and the real Aventus fragrances are just way too overpriced. But for example, for PDM Leyton...I find spraying Detour Noir/Exclusif Bleu first and then spraying PDM Leyton real thing, gives you best of both worlds. You save some sprays of the real thing, while also getting the performance and you get the all of the nuanced top notes of the real thing that aren't present in the clones.

I have pretty oily skin so most fragrances last longer on me than on most people. However, now and then I ran across one that could use an extra boost. I believe spraying twice makes it last longer is also due to the fact that there is more there. Fragrances project through the cologne molecules evaporating on your skin, and this gaseous form travels into your nose and thus you can smell it. This is why there are certain important areas on the body to spray, such as where there is most heat, as this will allow more fragrance molecules to evaporate, and thus your nose can detect a larger amount of the scent. This is also why spraying on clothes can make it last longer, as there is no direct heat being put into the fragrance molecules, preventing the fragrance from evaporating as much as it would if you applied it to your hot skin (however, in return spraying on clothes may decrease the projection). A larger amount of any substance will make it more difficult for it to evaporate. Taking water for example, boiling a cup of water is easier than boiling a pot of water. Take a pot for example, when you heat up the water molecules, the molecules will move around and spread out the heat. Since there is a larger amount of water, it will take longer for the heat to spread to a point where all the water molecules are at boiling temperature than with just boiling a small amount of water in the cup. Applying this to cologne, since there has been more cologne applied, the heat your body will provide the fragrance molecules will be spread out more, meaning it will take longer for the fragrance molecules to reach the temperature needed to evaporate, meaning the fragrance molecules will stay on your skin longer. Your theory could also be correct, however, what I described will also definitely be occurring.

A reason for that might be that the aldehydes in the parfume oxidize and that spraying another layer seals the oxidized layer-

Just do it on your clothing. I give the bottles I make to a select few, and they are shocked to say the least.I use a 30% amount. Also, if the scent is weak after you spray, wait 15 minutes, apply again. I have Tons more advice, but I think I just wrote an essay.💯

Nice tips. Funny I have no problem with how long La Nuit de L'homme lasts. On the rare days I wear this to work, I apply one spray on back of my neck, one spray each on left and right die of my neck, one spray on each wrist. Can clearly smell it when I get home 10-11 hours after I applied it. Then I get to really enjoy it while I work out. Most of the time though, this is my after shower fragrance when I'm likely to stay in for the night.

Using that plain Vaseline from the tub hasn't made that much difference which is annoying as a lot of my niche perfumes are super expensive and my skin seems to eat them up. But I have found using the flavoured Vaseline tins you get in the UK such as the rose or aloe vera or cocoa ones seem to be more effective. I bought the Escentric Molecules too but unfortunately got the one with Mandarin so changes the scent profile of my perfumes. Luckily Escentric Molecules gave me a free sample of both 1 and 2 so will try using them as a primer.

I Hate Ambroxan! Firstly it gives totally western vibes to the perfume and it smells totally synthetic. Secondly why cheat to make the actual perfume smell different by hacking and pouring Ambroxan into it or layering with it! Its totally a different fragrance note which is not suitable for oriental and dark fragrances. I like the perfumes without Ambroxan. Its like putting red oil paint in tomato ketchup to make it look good.!
Also it doesn't always help by spraying onto the clothes because some are not pure cotton, and also the perfumes like Ombre nomade which has loads of incense into it, reacts terribly when sprayed on clothes, the incense smells extremely sour and smokey which never dries down and the cloth tends to mess up with the drying process, which smells extremely cloying and pathetic. The only technique that helps is, multiple sprays on skin.

Spraying the fragrance first then gently rubbing it (not producing heat which itself spreads and dissolves the alcohol and the fragrance from the skir into the air) over the spot you sprayed the fragrance is going to make a bigger difference. Try it out yourself, thank me later.

Lotion is good enough. If you have a weak projecting fragrance just overspray. If it turns into a skin scent after 2-3 hours take a decant to refresh.
