Simon is talking pretty well here. From what I remember I was as old as nine or even ten (third or fourth grade) before I started using such phrases as “That’s no fun!” and “That’s boring!”. I guess that’s one of the differences between being level two like I was growing up and being level one like Simon.
I’m sure you are right. One thing that has really helped. Simon is the fact that we got him Speech Therapy so early. He was doing Speech Therapy regularly as soon as we got him diagnosed it two years old.

Also, for my uncoordinated butt, that is a much more reasonable use of a paddleboard than standing on it. My sense of balance isn't horrible, and I could probably do it, but it's not good enough for the experience to be anything but stressful (side-to-side rocking being one of my stims is probably a factor too).
I have never been on a paddle board but I don’t know if I could stand and stay standing. I would be too nervous to fall, I think

I once got a tick. I was 8 or 9 I think and we had just learned in school that ticks can cause dangerous illnesses. I was at the beach and I ran to my mom screaming "MOM I HAVE A TICK MY TEACHER SAID THEY KILL YOU I'M GONNA DIE TAKE IT OFF I'M GONNA DIE" and my dad had to step in while I panicked. He pulled it out and I was fine afterwards.
I would gel that way if I got a tick.
My brother isn't autistic but got us locked in my mom's car when we were kids. Then he set off the alarm because he panicked and couldn't figure out how to unlock it so he pulled up the door lock manually. *BEEEEP BEEEEEP BEEEEEEEP....BEEEEP BEEEEP BEEEEEEEP* 😂

It looks like Ezra understands the word “Stop”. When did he learn that?
I first learned the word “stop” in the context of a car stopping at age five-and-a-half when I was in preschool from my mother at traffic lights as a result of a lot of repetition. I was at least seven years old (first grade), if not eight years old (second grade) before I started to understand it in a more general sense. I guess it took me that long because I was level two back then (I’m level one now).
I wish I knew the exact time he realized he understood the word stop. But he can’t tell us that. He has been working on listening to the Word stop at his school for the past year so I think being able to repetitively work on that for a long time has helps increase his understanding.
Only one problem now ezrie and simon eill know how to unlock it when you dont want it unlocked ouc h glad you had lovely holidays❤❤❤

I remember riding in a canoe both Summers when I went to Summer Camp. I did not like it because it always felt like the canoe was going to tip over. That was back when I was nine and the ten years old (third and fourth grade) back in the 1980s.
I feel the same way. I don’t enjoy feeling like it may tip over. Ezra, though seems to like the feeling of being on a kayak.
I can't wait to go to camp it will be, y 14th year . It's a special needs camp for kids and adults . Going august 11th till the 30th.

My parents had their second dog a number of years ago and they used a tick spoon for tick removal. They sell these in pet stores and they might also work for removing ticks from a person’s body, but I am not one-hundred percent sure about that.
I also remember reading that it is important to be sure that the entire tick comes off at once. For some reason (I forget why) infections are more likely if the head comes off.
Very true. We knew we had the whole take because our neighbor who got the tick off of Mark also got off a piece of Mark skin that the tick was hanging onto. So we knew that the whole tick was off. Sometimes they like to keep their head in, which can be a problem.
Some things that come naturally to an autistic child can be very difficult for other children to do. So some things that autistic children may have to be taught are easy for other children. Autistic children think at a different rate than other children do so you may have to stop to show them because they are thinking so fast that little details like locks are missed. It really isn’t because they are defective it is because their mind works differently and sometimes more efficiently than other children. Social cues are often missed because those are slow skills and their mind disregards them because they seems insignificant to other things they are learning. They are like flies and we are like worms.💕🙏💕🙏

Honestly, I think leaving people that are autistic or not in a hot car is extremely dangerous hot car interiors can reach leave. Fall temperatures in a matter of minutes. Also remember to drink plenty of fluids if you’re outdoors.

Just like me Simon doesn’t like getting his feet wet. Maybe that’s why Simon finished toilet training within three months or so after he started.
Very observant. It’s true that the fact that Simon doesn’t like messes or feeling messy or wet definitely played a big part in potty training him faster.

I wonder if they sell iPhone or android phone cases with enough buoyancy to be able to allow a cell phone to float (sort of like a life jacket for a cell phone). If that doesn’t exist it would be a good thing for someone to invent.
If one could prevent a phone from sinking it would probably last pretty well given that the newer iPhone and android phones are said to be fairly water-resistant. They are not actually waterproof, though.

I think I would have been about six years old (or even seven) at least before I would have been able to follow directions the way Simon did to unlock the car.
I was very impressed with how well Simon did. He had a lot of people telling him what to do when it was very confusing for him, but he still was able to unlock the car and I’m so grateful for that.

Unrelated to this, but I have two questions about Ezra’s near death experience. Do you think he remembers his near death experience with cancer? And do you think nonverbal children on the severe end of the spectrum are more likely to have near death experiences due to two different factors, one being that they seek out danger and the other being that a lot of them can’t communicate their medical symptoms such as headaches, dizziness and nausea. I’m guessing that Ezra does not remember his near death experience but I do think that kids with level 3 and nonverbal autism (your son Ezra, for example) are more likely to have near death experiences because of the two factors I mentioned.
I agree that people who have level three autism are more likely to be in danger more often. The statistics are staggering. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ezra remembered being really sick. He was so sick that the doctor thought he had cancer. And he was sick for a long time, which was odd even for him. But I don’t know if he remembers that we all thought he had cancer. I wish he could tell us. Maybe someday he will
@@7Aheadfamily there’s a better chance that he can learn communicate more complex details on his speech device. I think someday his inner voice will find his way out. I know he’s still learning to type and spell. Which I think he’ll master when he’s 10. If I ever conduct autism research, I’ll do the studies that I’m highly interested in finding out about, such as the thing I’m wondering about with nonverbal autistic children. But I don’t know how that study would be conducted! Because It’s important that behavioral problems in nonverbal children are taken seriously. As they might be communicating something that is not acessable on their devices

It is coming a day at a time. We do underwear in the daytime, but it is defiantly still a challenge. Hope to be doing another video on that soon!

I always wished my parents raised me better to my liking because of my possible mild autism which I'm still waiting to be evaluated . My mom would lash out on me & tries to change my routine wether if its washing my bedsheets on specific days I choose or forcing me to make my bed how she wants it done . It lead me having multiple sensory overloads only making her threaten to call the cops or send me away and also my dad cheating on my mom 12 yrs ago which means he doesn't come to the house often . With me only being 5 then in 2012 you know my childhood was very rough not just at home but at school because there the social environment is toxic full of 99% of mean people straight from hell causing drama & violence in the building ( by the way the teachers / administrators don't do nothing about bullying which I have been insulted A TON about my appearance & possible autistic symptoms ) . I was born and reside in Memphis TN till this day so people here aren't as nice . 7 ahead what's your say & advice about my life background ?

I explain it in the video. We were getting ready to go and had already gotten both younger boys in their seat belts and I tried to gather the rest of the kids and shut the door and didn’t realized that the keys were in the car and the doors were locked. 🤷♀️
