    A fit guy like you doesn't need an Ebike. Must have been a real effort to pedal it towing the trailer.
    Yes Gallipoli was a low in the huge numbers of allied lives lost, down to bad military planning. Mustn't forget the role the ANZACs played in helping defeat the Nazis and Japanese.

    Hi Steve, i have been watching your channel for a while and have to say, its always a good production.
    I just bought a ibex trailer the same as yours. (Haven't used it yet).
    When your riding on a gravel road with just a bare bike and all the weight/luggage in the trailer. Do ever wish you had a brake on the trailer wheel for when you coming down a steep hill and you have to hit the brakes. (To stop the trailer pushing the back end of the bike around).

    • @mongreldogproductions
      @mongreldogproductions  3 года назад +1

      Hi Martin, I LOVE that trailer...I bought it in 2003 and it has done over 20,000km over the years, most of it in SEAsia. I think the trailer is ‘rated’ to 40kph but I have had it well over that on occasion in some pretty snotty country. I’ve never had a mishap but had some close calls. I’ve never experienced the trailer trying to ‘push’ me offline but that’s not to say it couldn’t happen. My first experiences cycle touring were using panniers. I wouldn’t go to panniers again. The trailer tracks well, has low centre of gravity, has provision for extra water bottles and is low maintenance. Good luck in your travels. Glad you like the Channel content.

    Hey, Steve...Great Channel. I got hip to your vids while I was doing research on Munda Biddi, right before my mini stroke in 2019. I am almost back to health and am back on the bike. I would love to rap with you at some point about your tour rig. I am a former Road Cyclist and have minimal experience with touring. I am currently having a friend of mine in Northern California fabricate an Expedition Frame Set for Me (Fatty) and want the build to be practical for the Australian Terrain. Any suggestions you might have for a touring Newbie would be appreciated. Thanks again for the vids...inspiring. Paul

    • @mongreldogproductions
      @mongreldogproductions  3 года назад +2

      Hi Paul, glad you like the Channel content. “Any suggestions?” Where do I start. Start with small steps. If you are planning a trip then any training should be done with similar weights and bike set up that you would do on the trip. Training is essential...you can not expect to cycle 60-100 km per day without some saddle time in what would be realistic conditions to what you are likely to encounter during your tour. Do an overnighter close to home to see if you’ve packed the right gear for the journey. Test your ‘systems’...cooking, camp set up, sleeping gear etc. Enjoy the experience and before you know it, you’ll be cycling the world. Good luck. Thanks for watching.

    • @mongreldogproductions
      @mongreldogproductions  3 года назад +1

      Hi Gdsamplify, are you talking about flats on the trailer? The answer is no. I have fitted a solid insert so no more flats anymore. I use to get punctures once or twice each trip but the solid insert is a good investment. See link here:
      www.stopaflat.co/
      The Trailer is a BOB Ibex...the difference between it and the Yak is that the Ibex has a sprung rear end....very handy for off road and shitty third world country pot holed roads. Glad you like the vid(s). Good luck on the Munda Biddi.

    gotta think there's not many people out there that would trade a 1200 or even a 650 for an e assist. one tough mindset you have. your son is a great one hauling your other mtb out to trade out the fried ebike. curious on the weights of each . guessing that saved you some 20-25 pounds ( california here so maybe 10 kilos ish...). that's a big chunk of weight gone.ive noticed with all the traveling you do you don't carry a water filtration system. that tank water..... you talk about in your travels about sleeping on the ground like the dogs, I guess drinking like them too is......🤣🤣 at least your not drinking out of a bowl...are you? Yeah, batteries are a real thing. Many ebikes have spontaneously exploded in flames in the socal area over the years. Samsung had an issue with a galaxy phone I believe as well, on planes of all places.. and there was a dive boat that caught fire in the middle of the night here in socal from batteries. The boat thing was terrible as they didn't have a watch person actually on and they were charging by the stairs to go below. About 35 died. Cycle touring I think I would like the most basic anyways. No hydrolic brakes, 26" wheels/ tires/ tubes..... 8 speed chain. Water filters are the size of a bicycle water bottle these days.
      Safe travels in asia

      Hi Chris, you blokes are still suffering lots of restrictions (I think). We were lucky here in Oz. We have been able to continue with some normality. Glad you like the vid. Thanks for watching.

      @@mongreldogproductions Yup, but hopefully restrictions are coming to an end. As someone of a similar age, also an adventure bike rider (Royal Enfield Himalayan) and a keen cyclist you have the perfect channel for me. Looking to cycle from the UK to Southern Portugal later this year. The great thing about cycle touring is you can take your time - no bad thing these days :-)

    Awesome video! Greetings from southern california. Is there an adv motorcycle business you could recommend in Australia? I love your country. Thank you for your time.

      Hi K t, I guess it would all depend whether you arrive on our west coast or east coast. Australia has a similar land mass to the US. I haven’t had any personal experience with bike hire company’s. There are supported tours that supply bikes. Do some google searches and check the reviews. Glad you like the vid.

      Hi KO’D, Crickets? 53 metre above the ground? Maybe. I don’t recall hearing them when I was ‘on set’ hahaha. Thanks for watching.
