    Alf Landon is good, +120 PP, industry company (at least until wartime when you get GM), and you've built most of the infrastructure by the election of 36. When you get to 1940, you get the option to change party to Democrats which gives +120 PP and New Deal comes back. If you ignore the events and take FDR, you just delay getting design companies/Italian scientists for 10% stab and 20% infra construction speed. I'd rather have 240 PP, free industry company, and the New Deal effect comes back right as you need more infra on resource rich western states.
    On the commie path, save 10 days before starting URA, appoint Browder last minute. That saves a whole 1% of communism! Start anti-commie raids during AWTA and it will make banning communism cost less stability and give you 2% after finishing.

    With the second option, when you get the Silver Legion event, there's no reason whatsoever to pick the bottom option unless you're intending to spark the civil war and want to get it out of the way as quickly as possible (which is just stupid for a democratic playthrough). The bottom option will *guarantee* that you end up having a civil war, and the civil war will occur before you can even get the "Guarantee the American Dream" focus which prevents the Rust Belt from temporarily seceding. Apart from that, for those who are curious, the other ways you would guarantee a civil war are either if you pick the "Full Desegregation" focus or if you let communist support tick over 30%. If one so desires they can pick up other focuses within the commie tree as long as they don't go over 30%, but it wouldn't be all that optimal because the longer you wait to get rid of Browder the more PP and stability you have to sacrifice to get the Neutrality Act.

    • @ertrick3693
      @ertrick3693 2 года назад +2

      Also, just to clarify, none of the focuses underneath the election-rigging focus will move you any closer to a civil war. But at the same time, since you got rid of Browder and did Neutrality Act, it is impossible to do any of them except the Militia Organization Act, which just reduces training time for divisions, because the rest either require you to have Browder as an advisor (impossible after doing the Neutrality Act focus) or for you to have sparked the civil war. Only the criteria I mentioned in the previous comment will spark the civil war. And the communist support trigger is only relevant after having done either the election-rigging focus or full desegregation.

    • @blahmaster6k
      @blahmaster6k 2 года назад +2

      Some strategies hire Browder for 60 days (save 10 days, hire Browder for URA, choose AWTA) then dismiss him as soon as you choose him. Then do the other communist focuses that do not require him, then hire him one more time to be able to click Worker Management Act for 5% factory output, and dismiss him as soon as you take the focus. This nets you about 12-13% total communism and then you can do raids as soon as you start the WMA and get rid of it, plus some extra stability to make up for the loss when banning it. You spend an extra 150PP hiring him twice and it slows down getting off Undisturbed Isolation by three extra focuses(only one if you don't take selective training act and just get 10% WS from Guarantee the American Dream instead), but it might be worth it if you really want that extra 5% factory output for later on.

    You can actually finished that branch of the communist path without going to a civil war. You get a +5% factory output and -10% training time and the option to get building slot 50% cheaper. You can also do the Partial Desegregation focus and still not go to civil war. The only way to get a civil war is to do both the Union Representation Act and the Full Desegregation focuses.

      There's also a hidden trigger. If you do either one of those focuses and then let communist support tick over 30%, you'll get the event that truly starts you on the path to civil war. It's only specifically if you have 30% or more communist support at any point after you do one of those focuses, and only if the aforementioned event hasn't already fired.

    I remember seeing the first strat back in the day. When I try it now though, the House always drops to 160 after the election, regardless of how high the support is going in. Meaning timing medium lobbying, farm, and special interest to complete right after the election+medium before focus still isn't enough. I've even tried this save scumming outside of ironman. Is there some trigger that I'm tripping, or do I just have incredibly poor RNG?

    • @stormsand9
      @stormsand9 2 года назад +8

      There is no RNG, every representitave and senator event is fixed. To make sure you have enough support after the election, before you begin your first focus take "medium lobbying effort" then, after WPA take both "amend the budget" and "research grants" decisions. on Aug 15th, select "pay farm subsidies" on oct 10th, do "small lobbying effort" and finally as soon as that's done and you've reelected roosevelt, do "medium lobbying effort" and you'll have the support you need.

You can wait 20 days after War department, cause you gotta waste 10 to rush Fair Labor, so I launched a medium after instead of small. Works w/Alf Landon too. Random support events can mess you up though after the election, but if you ensure you have extra PP you can eek out a special measures last minute (I had 56 sen, when u need 58 so, yeah).

    why you dont send spain a Atache but Japan?

    • @71Cloak
      @71Cloak  2 года назад

      You won't have enough command power to send an attached spain before the sino-japanese war kicks off. Even if you did the spainish civil war will end soon and then you would still need to send an attache to spain.

    Lmao. Why look at build civs later convert to mil idea. Just saying civ is built in say 45 days + 1 day to convert: 46, while a mil is built in 30 days flat. Choice is no brainer.

    Don't do the medium lobbying effort. Spam small lobbying effort instead.

      Medium lobbying effort is free at the beginning of the game. Makes it infinity better than small lobbying effort.

    you can actually out do this, there is a way to get on war economy in 1936 whilst getting rid of the great depression and upping your conscription law all at the same time
    I believe another youtuber has already done a video on it though, if someone wants in the replies I'll find the channel

      Yeah I did it. I linked the video in the description. There is a reason I specified without exploit. Even then the slightly commie path is kind of exploity.

    There's also no particular reason to hold focus, or at least, it seems like a bit of a waste in my eyes. Yes, you get rid of the debuff slightly faster, but you can't actually complete Giant Wakes any faster since you're waiting for Japan to declare war anyways, so putting yourself getting rid of the Great Depression slightly faster doesn't seem super impactful, although perhaps I should try it the other way and see how it feels then.
    Edit: Seems like I'm remembering something about the timing wrong, I'd have to go through it again to check how I did the build, but you're probably saving 120 days of Great Depression debuff at the cost of 20 focus days, which should be a net gain overall.
