The biggest mystery is not who Vertin's mother, or what is foundation's goal, or sth like that. The biggest mystery is "Does Vertin have the father?" :3
Another thing to add is that there is a unique Floppy Disk dialogue when you put in Vertin instead of any other names, from what I remember it says something about "Vertin" not being her real name and that is somewhat similar to her Mother's.
**pulling out the crackpipe** My idea is that Vertin actually doesn't see her mother, but herself in an older state, and to go even further, that even might be the trigger for time flowing backwards due to the time paradox that happened because of Vertin seeing herself. That doesn't mean that she doesn't have a mother, but the person she saw and thought was her mother wasn't.
Hmm, for some reason my mind thought of the Movie name Tenet Some Bootstrap Paradox thingy, maybe Older Vertin meet Young Vertin and the loop start Vertin seems to know something about gacha wheel in her suitcase. When you fill the name of Vertin in Floppy Disk, it said something like "yes, that's right. Everyone is waiting for serve you. Ms Vertin. You are just like her ... The child whose real name is hidden." I have a feeling that Vertin's story uses references from Tenet. The MC didn't have a name, called as protagonist. While R1999, MC name is Vertin(morelike codename)
Another easter egg and perhaps connected to another theory is when you tap in the game there is a small animation, when you zoom it in it says "Make good use of this umbrella". And I instantly thought about the last part in chapter 3 where Madam Z asked Vertin to be a timekeeper, she was using an umbrella and seems like she didn't get affected by the storm. Perhaps its similar to Vertin's suitcase and we actually dk where/who it came from. Anyways loved the video, I always love a good old theory crafting and you never disappoint!! Honestly when I played re:1999 I was hooked!! And I kept on finding videos/info related to it, glad to see you make videos of it.
i may be delirious but i remember seeing somewhere that the umbrella was gifted to madam z from someone in another foundation branch and that that person said she shouldn't throw away a good umbrella or smth like
When you use Soneto in combat, she mentions the moon and the night in some of her lines but I don't know if this holds any significance. Apparently, the "I know the moon and this is an alien city" line comes from the poem A London Thoroughfare and it's meaning (if I'm not mistaken) is that the author sees the moon as something that's closer to them than the city itself. Maybe this means that the moon holds significance to all arcanists in some way? EDIT: After playing some of the events, the poem starts to make even more sense. The moon is something alien but arcanists feel attached to it because they themselves feel "alien" in the world of humans.
from my understanding, Vertin's suitcase can only protect Arcanist from the storm. The suitcase being a pocket dimension combined with the Arcanists' ability and immunity to the storm syndrome allows them to survive the storm. While the Manus and the foundation can save both arcanist and regular people, however, one has no intention of doing so while the other doesn't have the resources to save everyone. I don't think Manus and the foundation know the cause of the storm since the foundation got no reason to do so while Manus so far feels like opportunists who takes advantage of the storm.
So far the story seems to be Evil organisation VS Evil organisation. Manus want's to end the discriminetion and prejudes ageinst Arcanists, but they are a supremecist group, who wants to kill, and be above humans and mixeds (if I'm right mixed means half human half Arcanist in the contrxt of the lore). Whaile the Foundetion says they want eachuality between humans and Arcanists, but just want's things to keep being the same way. My theory that there will, or might be a therd side created by Vertin.
The first moon reference on top of my head: "I know the moon, And this is an Alien city." - A London Thoroughfare. 2 A.M. (and also Sonetto when casting her buff)
My theory is she’ll possibly go way back in time or the future but as of now looks like she can only go back in time I think. Her new mission is to save everyone that got hit by the storm. The storm never really killed them to begin with it either put all them back in there own time period or stuck them in Limbo place or frozen time period where you still age but time doesn’t move. My other theory is Vertin will try to takedown Constantine and take down the school in doing so she’ll find the location of her mom. I love the story so far so many possibilities I just hope we get to see “The Ring” and Schneider again 😢
Is there any possibility that Vertin's mother has the power to create a storm so that's why her daughter can brave the storm easily because she has a special gen from her mother? I remember Vertin said that she saw her mother with a lot of equipment and in my opinion it was indeed the foundation that used Vertin's mother to create the storm just like what Arcana said. But the real question is, is it just Vertin's mother that will play a big role in this storyline later on? What about her father? Is he just a normal human or maybe... But then again, X says that the storm happened because it was an effect of a "butterfly". As for Vertin's final fate ( spoiler from chapter 5 ), 37 says that Vertin's number is 0. Number 0 means a fate where all the things change but the owner of the number will remain unchanged. Vertin's loneliness will also last forever. Some people from the CN made a theory from this too. When everything is over, Vertin will not go back to the future but she will stay in the past alone forever. Another one is, Vertin is actually a successful experiment (The storm starts happening because of Vertin ) and her mother is a failed experiment. That means someone will need to kill Vertin to stop the storm. (I'm sorry, my head hurt just from thinking about this, the Reverse 1999 story writer team is seriously a genius )
@@29_firdausayanuar88Yea, there is a chance Sonetto or Schneider will become the new main character to find a way to save Vertin or maybe Vertin mother herself since I don't think she doesn't love her only daughter.Maybe they will go back to the past to solved all the problem and stop Vertin from sacrifing herself.
@@Wan-cd7ru what if the whole story of reverse 1999 is a timeloop? Vertin saves the day by ending the storm which restores to the world to its prior state, that is the clock moves to 1999 but Vertin ability to whether the storm means that she doesnt get... fast-forwarded(?) (if the storm reverse things then what would the opposite of that be?) & instead gets stuck in the past so her gang in the present create an apparatus to go back in time to save her & baby vertin of 1999 sees them doing so thus starting the cycle all over again. (granted there are plot holes in there but i am simply proposing a skeleton of a concept that being dog-chasing its own tail-cycle of the gang trying to save vertin & her saving them at her own expense)
even by looking at Constantine alone , you know How suspicious and little we know about the St. Pavlov Foundation , regarding a whole chapter dedicated to the Foundation , still , we still have close to 0 of knowing anything from The foundation , both it hides and not.
The only mention of the moon that I can remember off the top of my head is Sonetto's buff skill voice line, "I know the moon, and this is an alien city." which might mean something.
You're missing a bit of info about the doves. Especially on that era. Doves were consider messengers and eyes- eyes being spies at that time. Not only by sending/delivering information. They're also hard to distinguished with pigeons on a broader look. And the doves that flew over with Vertin and Lilya at the time of their escape were the eyes of a different group inside the foundation. Which are still vague and I personally want to know more about them. Are they a foes or an ally. Just saying~ You're Welcome~
Ive been waiting for content like this. The story is like an abstract water painting: beautiful from afar but incomprohensible up close. We need to look at it from the proper perspective.
I dunno, but I think the thing on Vertin's back is a magic circle? I was looking for a symbol with the moon, eyes and lines. Closest I got was the Eye of Horus.
I think the symbolism of Vertin as Jesus is really interesting, as her mother must resemble god (as jesus is the son of god) i think constantine or madame z represent mary in the story, neither are vertins actual real parent/mother. i think vertin's mother is the one behind the storm as it would make sense that vertin would start "seeing" her mother when she was causing the storm. it would make sense since god is able to destroy the world/reverse time and do whatever. her mom being described as special also adds on this.
I thought this too. There's an eye that goes to the bond rewards screen, and it tells tidbits of characters, as if the one who is telling it is omniscient and present for these events. Maybe Vertin is meant to be able to do that, and that's how she withstands the storm, as she knows everything, even if she herself doesn't realize it.
imo, the Storm kinda remind me of Y2K - millenium bug event its described as Computer Apocalypse back in the days, there lot of craze and some hysteria around it when year goes from 1999 to 2000 - the computer all around the world would experience catacalysmic bug - Storm of event would unfold, due to date programing error every computer database would be rolled back or entire history (as in computer history) wiped out - your payment, your bank account, whole encyclopedia database, your stock, your saving in bank, to Russian Mir Space station crashing down due to date error etc. afterall in Digital life its all just 0 and 1. and in aftermath humanity would revert back to an analog era~ well, ofc that didnt happen irl
I was thinking about that too, they can change up allusions for a better writing of such chapters as Y2k event is the cause of what people of the time being brought back to the past as well as some chaotic calamity
My theory is that Constantine is Vertin's mother. It's the line where she says Vertin is "special, makes me think of her mother". Just something about that. Also they have the same hair colour. I also think the Foundation created the "Storm" to begin with, but that Manus Vindictae are using it for their own ends.
I was gonna quit when I didn't get Toothfairy, but I think the mystery behind Vertin's character and the story is worth continuing for... I played this game because I thought Vertin was playable ffs lmao.
Speaking of doves, it is also the announcement and confirmation of Jesus as the Son of the Biblical God. Though in Reverse 1999, the instigator of the events are human beings or a group of human beings/arcanists called the "House of the White Marble", which makes Vertin a man-made savior or the Anti-Christ, "anti" in this context doesn't mean against but in greek, means "instead of" or "in place of".
Can u explain or make some fans teory video about what Mr. Narrator said on "The Sun Will Continue to Rise" and "Ride On The Taboggan"... this document can be founded on 4-3 & 4-8 Why he said vertin not on "Human world" ? (From "The Sun Will Continue to Rise") And who and what is Mr.narrator, why he said that he was different from us? (From "Ride On The Taboggan ")
I took it figuratively, that Arcanist nature was predictable, rational, sensible, while human nature was still unknown. Human nature was being revealed as something far darker and malevolent, as seen through the actions of committees conspiring around the world to shackle the arcanist race.
Imo, both Manus and the Foundation are wrong. Or should I say, in part right, in part wrong. The foundation is somewhat totalitarian and Manus is very extremist. And both of these are usually not right
This seems unlikely both the Manus Vindictae and Foundation have stuff to weather the storm and stop rewriting of time. The foundation weakens with the rewriting of time (mentioned in chapter 4) so if anything it’d be a collaborative effort between Manus and Foundation at best but that seems unlikely at this point for other reasons.
@tiggerbane4325 I think through one of the nameless voice (???) dialogs he says that in 1999 the Manus Vindicte was formed from members who split off from the Foundation. The foundation is human supremacist, believing that arcanists serve for the protection of the human race (and nothing more) while Manus Vendicte is the opposite. They are arcanists in a civil war.
